Doomsday: I Can Get a Hint

Chapter 46: Luring the Tiger Away from the Mountain

"Damn it!"

Lin Yuennan was startled.

As a special forces soldier, her sense of security was naturally very strong.

There were security devices in her villa.

Someone had intruded into her villa.

A clever strategy to lure the tiger away from the mountain.

"Yaoyao, let's go!"

Lin Yuennan didn't want to waste time with these civilians.

Of course, until now, she restrained herself from directly shooting at the civilians.

She was a soldier, and protecting civilians was her duty.

Her beliefs did not allow her to shoot at unarmed civilians.

Unless they threatened her life.

"Bang!"

At this moment, another gunshot rang out.

The bullet grazed past Lin Yuennan's cheek and hit the rock behind her, sparking.

Someone was taking potshots!

However, because it was too far away and the shooter's aim was poor, they missed.

"Damn it!"

Lin Yuennan immediately pulled Sun Yaoyao into cover.

She had her reasons for choosing to confront them here.

She had long selected a cover position.

As she led Sun Yaoyao into cover, a few more shots were fired.

The civilians, upon hearing the gunshots, screamed and scattered like birds and beasts.

Lin Yuennan held Sun Yaoyao's head down, behind a rock:

"There are two guns! Shooting from the four o'clock and seven o'clock directions, probably Type 54 pistols."

Lin Yuennan quickly identified the pistol model and shooting directions.

"Cousin, you're hurt."

Sun Yaoyao sniffed, catching the scent of blood.

"It's fine, just a scratch on the arm."

Lin Yuennan raised her hand and fired several shots in one direction before quickly withdrawing her hand.

Bullets from another direction immediately followed, all hitting the rocks with sparks flying.

Inside Moon Viewing Garden

Zhou Feng led two henchmen inside.

Zhou Gang's men included many petty thieves.

They were quicker at breaking locks than locksmiths.

"Boss! A sniper rifle!"

Soon, they found the box storing Lin Yuennan's sniper rifle.

Opening it, they saw a disassembled sniper rifle lying quietly inside.

"Good! Great!"

Even Zhou Feng, with all his cunning, couldn't help getting excited as he touched the sniper rifle.

"Sanzi! Can you use this?"

Zhou Feng looked at one of his henchmen.

Sanzi, known as Third Brother in street circles.

A retired soldier, agile and skilled.

Zhou Gang's trusted lieutenant.

Zhou Feng could handle handguns, but he'd never used a sniper rifle.

This time, he brought Sanzi to raid Lin Yuennan's stronghold.

The plan was to get the weapons, launch a pincer attack, and eliminate Lin Yuennan.

"An American M200 sniper rifle! 10.36mm caliber, effective range of 2000 meters, the longest range among all modern sniper rifles."

Sanzi said excitedly while assembling it:

"I've only heard of this gun, never touched it, Lin Yuennan is truly formidable, having even this. With this gun, from this height, I can take out any target in the villa district."

"Haha! Lin Yuennan is finished."

Zhou Feng laughed heartily, knowing that Lin Yuennan was within their sniper range:

"But don't kill her, just wound her. I've never played with a female special forces soldier, and Sun Yaoyao is very useful. Keeping Lin Yuennan alive ensures she complies with us."

"Sure thing, Brother Feng, watch and see."

Sanzi chuckled, eyes showing a hint of greed.

Clearly, he was very interested in Lin Yuennan as well.

Even though he was a veteran, the gap between him and Lin Yuennan was significant.

The thought of subduing such a lofty goddess gave him immense satisfaction.

"Brother Feng, there are several rifles here, and lots of bullets too."

Another henchman opened a wardrobe, eyes turning red with excitement,

there lay a row of rifles and a large amount of ammunition.

"Hahahaha, we've hit the jackpot, this villa district is ours."

Zhou Feng rushed over, looking at these guns and heaps of bullets.

His heart pounded with excitement.

With these, who could he fear?

Not just the villa district, even the small groups outside, he could sweep through them.

Later, with Wang Hao's supplies, recruiting more, he could even establish a private security camp.

"Eh?"

At this moment, Sanzi let out a soft sound, then set down the sniper rifle and ran to the wardrobe, picking up a rifle to inspect it.

His expression grew increasingly grim.

"What's wrong?"

Zhou Feng frowned and asked.

"These guns have no bolts. Damn it, that chick was prepared."

Sanzi was somewhat exasperated.

"What?"

Zhou Feng's expression changed drastically.

No bolts?

Then these guns were useless!

Their pincer attack plan was ruined!

"Look around! See if they're stashed somewhere."

"No need, she probably kept the bolts with her."

Sanzi shook his head, realizing he had underestimated Lin Yuennan.

After all, as a special forces soldier, she wouldn't be that careless.

Besides, even if she hadn't taken them, such small items would be hard to find quickly.

"Let's go! Grab the stuff and fast."

After a few minutes of unsuccessful searching, Zhou Feng decisively chose to leave.

They took the guns and ammunition with them.

Though they couldn't use them, they couldn't leave them for Lin Yuennan either.

Meanwhile

Lin Yuennan, wielding two pistols, provided suppressive fire in two directions while retreating up the mountain with Sun Yaoyao.

The range of a handgun is limited, and Zhou Feng and his men also had limited bullets.

They soon retreated out of range and quickly moved up the mountain.

It's worth saying Zhou Feng's decision was wise.

If he had delayed a bit longer, he would've encountered Lin Yuennan head-on.

At that point, they might not have gotten away.

"Cousin, should I bandage you up?"

Once inside the villa, Sun Yaoyao was ready to bandage Lin Yuennan.

Although it was just a scratch on her arm, the wound was deep and bled quite a bit.

"Wait a moment."

Lin Yuennan handed a pistol to Sun Yaoyao, placed her in a strategic position, and quickly searched the entire villa.

Once she confirmed no one was hiding inside and that Zhou Feng and his men hadn't left any traps, she sat on the sofa with relief.

"Cousin, was the loss significant?"

While cleaning Lin Yuennan's wound, Sun Yaoyao asked with some guilt.

"The guns and magazines were taken."

Lin Yuennan sighed helplessly.

"Ah?"

Sun Yaoyao felt even guiltier:

"I'm sorry, cousin, it's all because of me."

"It's not your fault; they were just ruthless."

A fleeting murderous intent flashed in Lin Yuennan's eyes:

"To achieve their goal, they didn't hesitate to sacrifice a little boy's life. These beasts, I'll kill them all."
