Beast Taming: Abyssal Descent

Chapter 251: S.H.I.E.L.D. Comes Knocking (Part 2)

A handsome Asian youth, with very ordinary records, from birth to now, everything is more or less documented.

But as an experienced agent, it's easy to notice some unusual aspects in these records.

Yet, after scanning it several times and having numerous thoughts whirl in his mind, he found nothing suspicious in the data.

Still, his sixth sense told him that the document was fake, definitely showing signs of being altered, even if he couldn't spot them.

So, this mission wasn't just about the issue of the four extraordinary creatures; it was also about the person who took the pets.

Troublesome, difficult, and other words flashed through Colson's mind.

"Director, any other instructions? If not, I'll go on the mission."

Colson looked at the director's shiny bald head and just wanted to leave here as soon as possible.

This black-hearted bald egg was obviously plotting against him, again trying to end his vacation early, just vicious!

However, higher rank suppresses you, let alone when that person is your boss.

Colson could only apologize in his heart to his violin-playing girlfriend, whom he promised to spend the vacation with, but now the vacation was clearly confiscated.

"Remember to submit a paper report when you return."

Nick Fury always felt there were bad elements within S.H.I.E.L.D., but he had no evidence.

Therefore, the fewer people who know about these things, the better, and paper reports are more secure.

"Got it, Director."

He nodded, put the character information and the folder back on the desk, and exited the office.

For an agent, memorizing needed information within a few minutes is an essential skill.

When Colson passed by the logistics office, his steps paused slightly, his gaze quickly scanned the situation inside, resting for a moment on a figure, before finally looking away.

A faint, barely detectable sigh escaped his lips.

Colson walked away silently.

Inside was a comrade who had worked with him for many years but had eventually voluntarily applied to transfer from fieldwork to logistics due to some psychological trauma.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intelligence network is still extremely powerful.

Mo Qingchen's address was easy to locate, mainly because he wasn't trying to hide it.

Regarding S.H.I.E.L.D.'s arrival, and even who would come, he actually had some ideas.

When he saw Colson, the village chief of the novice village with a receding hairline, he couldn't help but sigh inwardly, it was indeed him.

In the early stages of Marvel, Nick Fury's handful of top talents included Colson, Iron Cavalry May, Black Widow, and Hawkeye.

Of course, this fool also trusted the alien Skrulls, allowing them to impersonate him in executing tasks.

You could say that S.H.I.E.L.D. being infiltrated to become Snake S.H.I.E.L.D., this guy had a significant contribution.

"Hello, I'm FBI Agent Colson, I need Mr. Mo Qingchen's cooperation for an investigation."

Mo Qingchen could only say, good fellows, these S.H.I.E.L.D. folks don't have any shame.

Always pulling out a fake FBI badge, blaming it on the FBI under their guise.

Looking at Colson standing outside the iron gate of the villa entrance, a small video on the wall directly turned on.

"Agent Colson, impersonating the FBI isn't a good habit.

Should I contact the FBI to come over and verify your credentials?

I'm sure they'd love to know who's impersonating the FBI outside, strutting around under their name, and even blaming them, don't you think?"

The nature of S.H.I.E.L.D., always investigating under false pretenses, blaming others if wrong, that's also the old tradition.

That's partly why many forces within the American government resist S.H.I.E.L.D.

They've offended too many government organizations; being resisted, isn't it deserved?

Outside the iron gate, Colson was speechless for a moment; as for the embarrassment of being exposed face to face, as long as he wasn't embarrassed, the embarrassed one would be others.

However, thinking of the character information that was obviously altered yet showing no signs of modification, he had a clearer understanding of this Asian man's means.

After taking a deep breath, Colson spoke again.

"Hello Mr. Mo, I'm Colson, a senior agent with the Homeland Strategic Defense Attack and Logistics Agency. I'm here to investigate the case of missing pets from Villa 44 on the Upper East Side."

The other party had remarkable skills and intentionally left clues; clearly, they were waiting for S.H.I.E.L.D. to investigate.

In that case, he might as well use their plan against them to find a breakthrough.

As for danger, from the moment he became an agent, Colson had long put life and death aside.

Of course, he wasn't being reckless; truly reckless agents have mostly been laid to rest with tombstones marking their graves.

"Homeland what's whatsoever agency, what a stupid name, let him in."

Through video and voice, Mo Qingchen mocked and then gave the command to let them in.

He deliberately lured S.H.I.E.L.D. over, especially Nick Fury's faction, for the sake of retrieving some hidden "084" items.

084 items are codes used by S.H.I.E.L.D. for all unknown origin objects, energies, or people.

This code denotes items whose nature, function, and danger level are yet to be identified.

S.H.I.E.L.D. used this code to determine if these items were useful or posed a threat.

Among the 084 items in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s collection are many mysterious treasures.

The most famous among them is the [Obelisk], a treasure used by the Inhumans to awaken superpowers.

Later on, [Skye], who was also marked as an 084 item, successfully awakened her superpower [Shock Wave] through the [Obelisk].

Theoretically, if Skye could develop [Shock Wave] to the extreme, she could shatter Earth in an instant.

A true Earth killer!

Mo Qingchen knew that S.H.I.E.L.D.'s precursor had scavenged an unknown number of black technologies from the Hydra Base, many of which became 084 items.

Among them was even one of the Marvel Universe's six foundational gems, the [Space Gem]!

Of course, this thing in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s hands was called the Cosmic Cube, a treasure left on Earth by Asgard's Odin God King, which later brought Loki and the Zitari army to Earth.

So, the Cosmic Cube and Obelisk, if given to Grey Wolf for study, might yield a lot of black technology.

Mo Qingchen sat upright on the living room sofa, with little Tec on his lap, Tom lying on the sofa beside him, and Spike at his feet.

As for Jerry, he was peering out from the new home's mouse hole entrance.

After taking Tom, Mo Qingchen had barely arranged a cat room for him when Jerry promptly dug a mouse hole in it and moved in.

This cat and mouse duo truly can't be separated, genuine love!

When Colson walked into the villa's living room, this was the scene he saw.

This made the old agent of many years have a fleeting twitch at the corner of his mouth.

Damn, he took the extraordinary creatures from S.H.I.E.L.D., displayed them openly without a hint of hiding, too brazen, isn't it?

Doesn't he consider S.H.I.E.L.D. at all?

Yet, considering America is a capitalist world, and this Asian is indeed a millionaire worth over a hundred million US dollars, Colson had to suppress the slight unease in his heart and quickly get into work mode.

"Mr. Mo, do you have any explanations for privately taking S.H.I.E.L.D.'s extraordinary creatures?"

Colson pulled out three photos from his pocket, depicting Tom, Spike, and Tec respectively.

"Just some pets fond of wrecking homes, I suppose the bald egg who loves setting up safe houses worldwide wouldn't mind."

Mo Qingchen casually remarked while petting the dog and cat, also hinting at Colson's earbud.
