A Sudden Decision to Publish!

Just past eight in the morning, I suddenly received a message from my editor, saying that we'll go live at noon today.

At first, Old Meng was bewildered. The book was still in its fourth round of recommendations, only on its fourth day, and it only had 180,000 words. So why the sudden decision to publish?

Then, Good Luck Boss delivered a fatal headbutt, saying the results were too poor, no way to advance...

Good Luck Boss said that getting four rounds of recommendations for Guardian Beast is already pretty good.

Old Meng still remembers, when I first published the book, Good Luck Boss told me that achieving good results with Guardian Beast would be tough, and I should be prepared mentally.

Now that it can reach four rounds of recommendations, it's considered quite decent.

The journey to advancing through four rounds was bumpy, always teetering on the edge of elimination, and finally barely making it through.

Alas, all I can say is, Old Meng chose a bad time to launch the book.

Summer, with platinum authors, big names, and giants all launching new books in these one or two months, eating up most of the traffic, leaving just scraps for us underdogs.

Plus the intense competition in the fantasy channel, at least the books released in the same period as mine, each has more collections than Old Meng's, some even several times more.

Helpless (Ĭ^Ĭ)...

Let's talk about the book's performance.

As of 8:10 this morning, there are 4924 collections and 804 active readers from yesterday.

Good Luck Boss said we'll go live today at noon, supposedly at 12:05.

However, Old Meng has stuff to do at noon, and will probably only be able to upload after 3 PM.

To all the grandfatherly readers who have been with Old Meng along the way, please continue to support Old Meng, for your support is the motivation for Old Meng to keep writing!

For updates after we go live, today there will definitely be ten thousand words, and for later, I'm tentatively aiming for three chapters, with a base of six thousand words, until the end of this month.

Old Meng is a part-timer and a slowpoke, with a writing speed under 1500 words per hour, no manuscript in reserve, so writing ten thousand words a day is too difficult (Ĭ^Ĭ)...
