My Weekly Refreshing Mentor Spirit

Chapter 34: Distress Signal from a Parallel World

Xue Dili suddenly awoke, panting heavily, clutching his still-thumping heart.

"Old Deng..." Xue Dili immediately called out.

However, there was no response, and Xue Dili couldn't even sense his Consciousness Space.

"Old thing? Old Sage? Yushua?" Xue Dili kept shouting, but there was no response.

The world was terrifyingly silent, and Xue Dili realized he wasn't in the Narita hotel; the entire world was blank.

A dream within a dream?

He immediately realized that this might be another sound influencing his dream, and according to the old thing's guess, the sound might be coming from the World Consciousness.

Finally, the pure white world disappeared, but at the next moment, Xue Dili's pupils contracted.

He saw a world just like the one in the Great Sage's memory, a dead world, with only ancient ruins proving a civilization once existed.

And at the very center of this world, there was only a skinned figure nailed to a cross, like a sinner being punished.

"Help me..."

The female voice continued to echo.

"How can I help you?" Xue Dili asked toward the sky.

"Return to... history..."

"End... the impending disaster... covering history..."

...

This time, Xue Dili woke up in a pain akin to drowning.

Each time he woke, it always brought something completely different.

Looking at his phone, it was already 2 PM, he jumped up instantly, it was almost time for the concert, which was the purpose of his trip to Neon, as well as fulfilling Old Barak's last wish.

On the way to the venue, Xue Dili noticed that the Great Sage was no longer constructing modules.

In his Consciousness Space, a door appeared?

In his understanding, he could only temporarily use "door" to refer to it, and beside the door, the Great Sage seemed lost in thought.

"Old man, what's wrong?" Xue Dili asked, observing his situation as he spoke.

The old man's body was becoming increasingly transparent, if yesterday it was 80% transparent, now it was at most 60%, like a ghost in some movies.

The Great Sage's expression was serious, with no trace of his shamelessness from before, calmly speaking: "You said before, was there a mother-like voice calling for your help?"

"Yes."

"I've constructed a Teleportation Array within your body, using your body as an anchor point, it can teleport you to a 'world' strongly connected to you, similar to how that old undead used your ability to send you to his world before." The Great Sage explained what he had spent so long building,

but his expression turned even worse, continuing: "However, I've discovered a problem, in your world, there's an abnormal segment of history that was intentionally erased, but now it seems that this abnormal history is forcibly correcting your world, turning your original world into a future of this abnormal history."

Xue Dili: "I don't understand."

"Simply, Parallel World." The Great Sage saw Xue Dili's clear but foolish gaze, immediately adding in words he could understand, "And now, it seems the Parallel World is about to collide with your Blue Star."

"Got it." Xue Dili stopped in his tracks.

"Dear passengers, the monorail train to Takasaki Station is about to arrive..." The broadcast announced the arrival of the monorail train.

Xue Dili gave up attending the concert, at this platform, he exchanged thoughts quickly with the Great Sage.

"If the Parallel World does collide with reality, what problems will arise?" Xue Dili asked the Great Sage, whose expression was grim.

"The history of the Parallel World will merge with your world, leading to situations like 'Spiritual Qi Revival' or 'Mysterious Resurgence', or if the differences between the two are too great, unable to merge, the histories of both worlds may distort and lead to collapse."

"I guessed right, your Consciousness Space didn't appear because of that old undead, but because your world itself discovered the problem, choosing you as its spokesperson to help solve it, only that the old undead happened to come into your body first by luck."

The Great Sage laid out his detailed guess, and Xue Dili remained silent.

So the Consciousness Space that mysteriously appeared wasn't without reason, but a power bestowed by the world itself.

"Old man, how much time do you have left?" Xue Dili exhaled, looking at the station's ceiling.

"The time is sufficient."

"Actually, you have already died, haven't you… Unlike the old undead, he just became the undead, but you really, truly died, leaving nothing behind, perishing in another world."

"Then like a wandering ghost, you ended up within my body, these are your last few days, right?"

Xue Dili's words were affirmative; perhaps after noticing the Great Sage's transparency, he had guessed, and last night's dream merely verified his guess.

This old man had already died, passed away in a foreign land.

What appeared before Xue Dili was likely his last remaining soul and consciousness.

"Did you find out?" The Great Sage, as though his secret had been discovered, sighed, seemingly comforting Xue Dili or perhaps speaking to himself, "But you were wrong, I didn't leave nothing, at least I left you, my last, and most unaccomplished student."

"Let's go, this is the last lesson I can give you." The Great Sage smiled, placing his hands on Xue Dili's shoulders.

"I will teach you everything I've learned, not just some simple technique or basic swordsmanship instruction, I will teach you everything I know."

"And so, let me show you, our final enemy this time."

The old man locked eyes with Xue Dili, light emanating from his pupils.

Xue Dili saw the world in the Great Sage's pupils, it seemed like a city-state from Ancient Greece, then an overwhelming flood submerged the city before people could react.

Then, the world went dark.

From the darkness, a voice was heard.

"Let there be light..."

The scene ended here.

The Great Sage continued to gaze at Xue Dili, his hands on his shoulders began to exert force: "This is the enemy we are about to face, this action is also the last thing I teach you, in the future you will witness more disasters like this, I hope my experience and knowledge will be your most valuable asset on your journey."

However, Xue Dili was completely dumbfounded, he immediately stepped back, cluelessly asking: "This thing is our enemy?"

"Yes, he is the culprit leading to the merging of the Parallel World with the present world."

Xue Dili, even more bewildered, pointed at himself with his index finger, using a confused expression to ask again: "I'm supposed to fight Yahweh?"

Is this real?
