My Weekly Refreshing Mentor Spirit

Chapter 37: The Goofy Version of Ancient Greece?

This is the only thought present in the minds of the gods now.

Whether it was a nymph, a Muse, or Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite who were originally poised to draw swords over the Golden Apple, they all stared blankly at Xue Dili deep in thought.

Not just the goddesses, even the gods who were just watching the spectacle had their mouths agape in astonishment, and they didn't even realize when their wine cups slipped from their fingers.

At this moment, to the Greek gods who were obsessed with beauty, love, and heroes, this human in deep thought resembled an inherently beautiful elf, stirring a feverish desire within them.

'By the Father God, I think I might actually believe in love…'

Both gods and goddesses began to harbor this thought.

Xue Dili could never have imagined how his face, which looked like a tokusatsu show big kid combined with the mystery and uniqueness formed after merging with the old Undead in the Heroic Spirit Transformation, could hold such immense allure for the Greeks.

To these Greeks who let their little head control their big head, the arrival of Xue Dili was no less thrilling than goblins spotting a female knight.

The main appeal was its uniqueness, the one-of-a-kind uniqueness in Greece, which constituted this unparalleled "beauty" in all of Greece.

Xue Dili also could not have imagined that the first danger he faced upon arriving in this strange world wasn't terrifying demon beasts or wars involving countless countries, but rather a pack of Greek gods and goddesses staring at him like hungry wolves.

They were even beginning to raise their flags!

At that seemingly frozen moment, an apple suddenly dropped and hit Xue Dili on the head, interrupting his thoughts, as well as those of the nearly breath-held gods on Mount Olympus.

Xue Dili broke free from his thoughts, casually catching the apple that had struck him.

The golden hue and dazzling light indicated it was the Golden Apple of myth and legend, the very catalyst of the Trojan War.

He looked up to find himself at the center of attention, with both gods and goddesses fixing passionate gazes upon him, especially the likes of the Muse goddesses, who seemed as if they wanted to consume him.

"Ahem, beautiful child of man, would you like to become my follower?" From the main seat, Zeus, with his crescent moon-like presence, appeared ever majestic despite his age, his muscular physique and imposing demeanor making him seem wild and commanding.

However, after speaking, he realized he might have been too blunt, noticing the disdainful looks from the surrounding deities, he coughed awkwardly and retracted his words.

"Father God, I've made a mistake, originally supposed to bring the mortal Paris, but it seems I brought the wrong person," Hermes, the divine envoy, whispered to Zeus.

But all the gods present heard it, and they were dumbfounded. Originally, Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite were poised to draw swords over the Golden Apple, prompting Zeus to order Hermes to go to the lower realm to find a handsome mortal (Paris) to decide its rightful owner.

But Hermes seemed to have brought the wrong person.

'Hermes, well done! You brought a good one!' the gods and goddesses thought in their hearts.

At this moment, Zeus promptly changed his tune, "Child of man, please declare your name to the gods and settle the matter of the rightful owner of the Golden Apple."

The "mediator" for the Golden Apple wasn't chosen at random; Paris, as a prince of Troy, would directly or indirectly spark the Trojan War regardless of which goddess he chose.

The gods wanted to use the Trojan War to spread faith, and Zeus wanted to use it to initiate an Odyssey, so initially, only Paris was the chosen one for the Golden Apple.

However, Xue Dili's sudden appearance changed the atmosphere, making even Zeus prioritize this over the Trojan matter, thinking he could find more excuses to start the Trojan War later.

Now, he wanted to know everything about this handsome, beautiful boy!

Xue Dili held the Golden Apple, slightly bowing to Father Zeus, and then to the three goddesses, which increased his favorability enormously among the gods present.

After all, earlier, Zeus almost directly invited this mortal to become a follower, a favor no mortal hero could refuse, even if it meant selling hooks—what of it?

Becoming Zeus's follower was a way to ascend the heavens in a single step.

Yet, this mortal sort of politely refused, giving Zeus face while disdainful of climbing to godhood by selling hooks, which instead increased his good favor with the gods.

Even Zeus, who was subtly refused, bore no ill feelings.

"By the gods, my name is Xediles, not a hero, merely a scholar devoted to studying truth." Xue Dili introduced himself, using a false name.

In Greece, one could not use their true name as there were various means to attack or curse you through your true name.

The gods whispered among themselves, nodding as they planned to investigate privately.

He then gazed at the Golden Apple in his hand, with divine runes inscribed upon it stating, "For the fairest goddess," realization dawned that he was in big trouble.

However, this trouble also represented the best opportunity to gain Protection.

At this moment, the three goddesses approached him, each like a peacock displaying her plumage, vying not only for the title of most beautiful goddess but also showcasing their hearts to this beautiful human child.

"Beautiful child of man, I am Queen Hera. I can grant you supreme power, making you King of Greece, master of heroes, the true king of heroes. After your death, you will also enter Olympus to serve by my side, immortal and eternal," presented Hera, as dignified and elegant as a noblewoman with her proposal first.

Zeus's eyes lit up; he wasn't bothered by his wife Hera's desire to find someone to serve her, instead feeling delighted!

Athena, somewhat more robust compared to other goddesses, but not bulky—a testament to her health and beauty like a female leopard, offered strength and wisdom, in line with her story.

As for Aphrodite, blending innocence with charm, she offered love.

Facing the three goddesses who gazed directly at him, Xue Dili held the apple.

Time rewinds to half an hour ago.

Xue Dili and the Great Sage were discussing their plan of action.

"Old Deng, do you really think I can outshine Paris?" Xue Dili pointed to himself.

"Not just capable, but certain; to people of that era, your attributes are as striking as an Enchanting Demon," the Great Sage assured.

Unconvinced, Xue Dili added, "Can we use this opportunity to directly kill Zeus? Using the power of Cursed Blood."

"Impossible, as long as under the concept of 'Sky,' the Heavenly Father is an absolutely immortal monster. He will resurrect no matter what method is used," the Great Sage conveyed what his intelligence revealed, looking towards Xue Dili.

"Another one loaded with immortality?" Xue Dili pondered.

Previously dealing with the Witch Demon King, also an undead monster, he could only use a volcano to eliminate it; and as for trying to face Zeus...

"The Netherworld!" Xue Dili declared his thought, suddenly reminded of a certain exhibitionist ancient Pikachu.

"Trick Zeus into the Netherworld!"
