My Weekly Refreshing Mentor Spirit

Chapter 39: To Save Ancient Greece We Need You…

At this moment, Xue Dili even felt a trace of gratitude.

He actually was completely unaware that for the ordinary people of the Otherworld, he was akin to a walking source of plague, a figure like the benevolent Nurgle. In his quest for the Cursed Blood, he discovered that there were at least tens of thousands of deadly viruses reverse-coded within him.

The most lethal among them were the new G-type virus, smallpox, H1V1, hundreds of influenza strains, macrophage viruses, etc. These viruses had no effect on Xue Dili, but to the Otherworld people who possessed no antibodies, these were the deadliest weapons.

By chance, the old Undead had Xue Dili learn the Holy Light before going to the Empire; otherwise, let alone saving the world, a single sneeze from him might eliminate the need for an undead catastrophe, and everyone in the Imperial Capital who didn't know Holy Light would die from the great plague.

The Cursed Blood's ability to modify the body could also be applied to these inconspicuous viruses. Thus, he carried out targeted improvements and enhancements on the viruses, transforming them into an ultimate virus that targeted only "gods."

During this period, Mount Olympus was in chaos. Indeed, at the level of the 12 Olympian gods or Zeus, gods were not afraid of this suddenly emerging plague.

However, Olympus consisted of more than the 12 Olympian gods; numerous Second Generation, Third Generation gods, and various minor gods who ascended from mortality all fell victim, and there were thousands upon thousands of such minor gods.

The most alarming fact for the Olympian gods was that these plagues were unkillable! The new type of virus could even absorb divine power to mutate and evolve, evolving dozens of times per minute!

Even Hades, the Lord of the Underworld who governed over plagues, could not manufacture such a terrifying plague in a short time.

As the plague rapidly evolved and mutated under the augmentation of divine power, there was even a vague premonition of the emergence of a "Poison King" among the gods.

Upon the emergence of this Poison King plague, it was uncertain whether the 12 Olympian gods could withstand it, and there was a significant possibility that the Poison King plague would evolve once more upon infecting the 12 Olympian gods.

The gods were by no means good-natured beings; previously, Xue Dili, this madman, deceived and mocked them. Even though he received Zeus' protection, they still had countless ways to aim to kill Xue Dili.

Whether it was inspiring mortal heroes to slay the blasphemer Xue Dili or locating Typhon's demon beast offspring and exiling these beasts to kill Xue Dili, these actions did not violate that protection.

However, the sudden appearance of the plague temporarily diverted their attention. These days, Zeus went to search for the three Fates to inquire about the situation more than once, even losing interest in his favorite past hobby of holding eagle parties in human queens' chambers.

The gods, for now, had no mood to seek trouble with Xue Dili. They only wanted to quickly resolve the plague and find the mastermind behind it.

They couldn't believe that the plague was caused by the mortal Xue Dili; was it the home-stayer Hades from the Netherworld? Or Typhon, the ancestor of all demons? Perhaps other enemies of Olympus? They only wished to commence a divine war, to wash away this humiliation with the blood of their enemies.

...

[Well done, there's no need to feel this is a despicable act; achieving goals through strategy and intelligence has never been a base act.]

[I do not wish for you to become a reckless brute, nor do I want you to fall into more dangerous circumstances due to foolish benevolence.]

The words that popped up on the panel represented that the Great Sage had witnessed everything Xue Dili had done.

They completed their first step, and the second step…

It was well known that Zeus had a fatal weakness.

Once, Zeus joined other Greek gods to seal the Second Generation God King Kronos, who was also Zeus' father, and therefore, Zeus was cursed by Kronos.

The curse was named "Zeus will be killed by his youngest son."

In possession of this information, Xue Dili immediately thought of utilizing this curse to kill Zeus.

Coincidentally, the Cursed Blood could alter his genes to become that of a "son of Zeus," and since historically he was a human from 3,000 years later, concerning age, he was now a minus 3,000-year-old child.

With both traits of a "son of Zeus" and being "minus 3,000 years old," he had an absolute offensive advantage against Zeus.

Through deception, he obtained the [Divine Protection of the Great God (A-Class)] which was an absolute defensive advantage against Zeus.

With both offensive and defensive advantages in hand, the last thing to consider was how to strip Zeus of his immortality to accomplish his absolute assassination of Zeus.

This is the intelligence of Xue Dili.

Looking up at the sun, Xue Dili continued forward.

[Let's commence the second step of our plan.]

Presently, having been in Troy for several days, Xue Dili now wore a white hooded cloak, walking through this shattered, backward Troy City.

"Doctor, Doctor, our child is sick! Please save her!" A flustered mother rushed to Xue Dili, holding a child who seemed more in than out.

"Don't worry, leave it to me." Xue Dili reassured the anxious mother, his face completely concealed under the white hood, leaving only his chin visible.

As Xue Dili placed his hand on the child's head, the previously feverish child instantly seemed to be revived, waking up clearly.

"Thank you, Doctor! No, merciful hero Xediles!" The mother kept expressing gratitude. Furthermore, the bystanders who personally witnessed this "miracle" exclaimed in awe and rapidly spread the tale.

Greece was a place that revered heroes.

Here, whether among the gods, kings, or commoners, everyone admired heroes, and almost everyone grew up listening to stories of heroes aboard the Argo.

Whether it was Perseus slaying Medusa, Hercules' twelve labors, or Jason cleverly obtaining the Golden Fleece, these were all familiar legends in this era, and even roadside children could recite certain heroic deeds.

Amidst such an atmosphere, every city-state would naturally promote its heroes, while those without heroes would be ridiculed and scorned by others.

Just like in Troy City, the most renowned hero is Hector.

Recently, a new hero legend was born, spread by word of mouth in Troy, known as "The Merciful Hero — Xediles," who possessed the power to heal all diseases and pains.

On the panel appeared the second step of the plan.

[Task Two: To save Ancient Greece, you need to debut and form a band... or rather, a hero band!]

I don't know what strange things the old thing watched on Earth besides tokusatsu dramas; anyhow, the second step was to make Xue Dili famous, achieve great fame, and become the greatest heroic superstar in Ancient Greece.
