My Weekly Refreshing Mentor Spirit

Chapter 88: Prologue to the False Apocalypse

"The ship! The ship sails on the ground, and the ship flies in the sky! How can a ship fly in the sky!" The otherworldly royal army looked at this scene in horror.

An illusion technique? Since when?

Be it the knowledgeable mages or the knights battle-hardened from the battlefield, upon seeing the colossal ship traversing land and sky, they all slapped themselves hard to see if they were awake.

"Let's all go together, it's just him! I don't believe he can kill us all before exhausting himself!" shouted some general, as the mages began chanting spells one by one.

The knights didn't bother looking at the strange ship anymore but instead raised their longswords high.

Indeed, no matter how powerful the opponent is, it's just one person, while we are tens of thousands.

The advantage is ours.

But Xue Dili didn't notice the spells flying towards him from behind. Instead, he turned around, as if greeting old friends, "Long time no see."

"Buzz!" A massive seven-petal shield blocked behind Xue Dili, thwarting all bed crossbow shots and the mages' spells.

Ajax, hailed as the Greek Bulwark, made his entrance.

Not only that, but Xue Dili's words ignited a fuse.

When Xue Dili said "Long time no see," countless responses echoed, answering that call.

They seemed like an expeditionary force unlocking a gate from another world.

Each, clad in ancient Greek divine armor with arms strong enough to hold a rider, stepped forward. Just seeing their stance was enough to know their terrifying strength.

At the forefront of this army, those few men exuding an aura of glory attracted the most attention.

It was like the shock when ordinary soldiers first saw a hero squad set out.

Divine-made armor, divine-made weapons, and weapons tainted with the blood of Zeus — one glance told you they were elite warriors who had crawled from seas of corpses and blood.

This inevitably reminded the knights of the kingdom of the scene from tales when heroes were summoned, or ancient heroes stepping out from epics.

Just the powerful aura coming from them like heroes, and the grandeur of their resplendent armor, was enough to shake dozens of people.

Randomly pulling one among them, even the weakest boasted Legendary Level strength, capable of becoming a leader figure in a hero squad, including many near-Mythic Levels, and particularly those three, Hector, Achilles, and Hercules, true Tier Four Mythic Level entities!

Such figures, a total of 32!

"How is this possible…" The mages were too stunned to continue chanting spells, and the knights swallowed their saliva in fright.

Xue Dili smiled, 32 individuals, all answered his call.

The appearance of the Celestial Thunder does not automatically come with 32 heroes but calls to those 32 heroes who were buried in Greece.

Just like a Heroic Spirit Summoning Ceremony, if they responded to Xue Dili's summoning, then they would appear.

And now, everyone was present!

Moreover, they were not those original heroes, but those who had fought alongside Xue Dili in the abyss of despair, part of that grand battle of god-slaying.

Having buried their best years in the Netherworld yet stood up again from the Nether River, heroes who had slain the Divine King!

After 3200 years of separation...

This time, the Celestial Thunder once again assembled its full crew.

This kind of miracle, summoning 32 heroes in an instant, this kind of powerful, invincible, utmost might, made these otherworldly people feel like even their brains were trembling. Under the overwhelming might of these heroes, they felt bewildered and trembled, like elementary schoolers thrown into a red light district.

But the heroes paid no mind to these nearly frightened to death otherworldly people; instead, they each excitedly gathered at Xue Dili's side.

Their emotions seemed somewhat sorrowful, somewhat excited, somewhat inexplicable…

What on earth brought me here, is this still Greece?

Most heroes might have felt like this at the moment.

Moreover, they curiously noticed an old man with a big beard among the crowd.

That old man, seeing the familiar scene before him, seemed still to be living in a dream.

Really…

Is it really you…

Thank goodness… thank goodness…

The old man cried as his figure gradually grew younger, until he became the 12-year-old Achilles.

He cried, throwing himself onto Hector, weeping hysterically. Since that battle, through countless nights and days of nightmares, his heart had been constantly tortured by remorse until he returned to the Celestial Thunder.

The only hero who died a natural death because of the extinction of the Divine Era, Achilles, finally returned to that summer when he was 12 years old.

After that day, he was dead, and the surviving Achilles was but a living corpse solely to deliver his friends' letters home.

This Odyssey was so long, so long that he forgot who he was.

And now, finally, he returned to that summer at age 12, seeing familiar comrades-in-arms, his mentor Hector, and their leader, Xediles.

Everyone looked just as before, unchanged from those days.

His hoarse voice sounded, "This time, I will fight alongside all of you until the very end, no matter who our enemy is…"

This scene seemed to press the weight and solemnity of history upon the hearts of the distant otherworldly people. That aura from mythology connected, forming a whole.

And Xue Dili approached Hercules, giving a slight bow: "Thank you, great Hercules, for your support."

"I just wanted to see the sights of another world," Hercules feigned a calm demeanor, but at this moment, he found it harder to suppress a smile than holding an AK.

Writing one's own mythological epic in an otherworldly realm is an irresistible allure for any Greek.

What Greeks desire most is fame, to leave their names in history, and having their own epic is their ultimate pursuit, along with matters concerning their lower regions coming second.

"So, who do we kill this time?" Hector twirled his spear, approached Xue Dili, and raised his fists.

And Xue Dili raised his fist too, bumping it against Hector's.

"The situation in this world is very complex…" Xue Dili didn't care about the distant otherworldly people; he just quickly and concisely explained the state of the world.

"So that's how it is. This world has been completely tainted, everywhere cloaked in human-skin demons; I certainly can't kill them all alone, so I decided to emulate Zeus…" Xue Dili began to enunciate his true plan.

Everyone held their breath, looking at Xue Dili in shock.

"Referencing Zeus's seven chapters of apocalypse, I plan to implement the seven-day apocalypse oath in this world!" Xue Dili uttered this plan slowly.

This world was already terminally ill, with everything seeming to be pseudo-men, making it impossible for him to distinguish how many were real survivors.

Therefore, he summoned the Celestial Thunder to complete Zeus's ritual. Zeus used the seven-day genesis from the Book of Job, which Xue Dili replaced with the seven chapters of apocalypse.

But Xue Dili did not have the ample time of seven days.

Now, he only had 83 hours left.

Thus, he intended to use a trimmed version of Zeus's apocalypse chapters, compressed into a four-day apocalypse oath.

This ceremony was named "Pseudo-Genesis."

And in the final 11 hours, a true hero would kill him, the demon king of the apocalypse.

Using apocalypse as the way to save.

"So, our task?" The heroes were eager to try.

"I need 12 to become the Round Table Knights for our new heroes, and the remaining twenty…" Xue Dili gazed at the Royal Capital, then at the entire Kingdom and the whole world, "Join the Demon King's army, become part of the demon king's cadre, conquer! Ravage! Humiliate this kingdom! And slaughter every demon! In the most cruel and bloody way!"

"I promised someone that I would kill all the demons in the world."

"Do not worry about harming ordinary people or distinguishing the demons because we are 'god-slaying' heroes, and those demons happen to be affected by our 'god-slaying' trait!"

"And do not bear any psychological burden, any living being would feel fear, dread, or exhibit flaws, but demons won't! They are simply biological weapons devoid of pain."

Xue Dili looked skyward, extending the index finger of his left hand, the cursed blood carving an empty hole into both palms, the blood converging at his fingertip, as he vaguely felt the consciousness of the world.

"With this oath, may it lay the foundation for our Eden!"

In the sky appeared a gigantic right-hand finger stretched out, resembling the descent of myth. Under the witness of all Greek heroes, amidst the terrified mages and knights numbering in tens of thousands, before the stunned eyes of nearly a million in the otherworldly royal capital, the giant hand touched the outstretched finger of Xue Dili.

In the next moment, a voice encompassing the entire world sounded from the void, heard by everyone, like the tolling bells of apocalypse.

"On the first day, grant war!"
