My Life with Narration

Chapter 74: Ten Years Editing Unknown One Viral Dog and the World Knows

Su Qing's sweet dream naturally couldn't come true. Not to mention anything else, just the way the two of them looked walking down the street; anyone with good eyesight could see they bore a resemblance, clearly siblings.

Either they are both biological, or neither, no exceptions.

As for what mom Zhou Hui wanted to announce, it wasn't really anything big—she and dad felt relieved now that the younger sibling had completed the college entrance exams, so they wanted to go on a honeymoon to make up for years of missed opportunities.

In front of a street food stall on the pedestrian street, the three members of the Su family were having spicy skewers. After all, their mom's cooking was hard to describe nicely, so the trio sneaked out for a little treat.

It wasn't that they didn't want to invite Zhou Hui out, but asking her would indirectly suggest her cooking wasn't good. Anyway, none of the three of them were bold enough to broach this subject.

It's quite funny, actually. In this family, three Su's were firmly controlled by one Zhou. Especially old Su, who barely dared to speak up, earning disdainful looks from the siblings.

"Dad, when are you and mom planning to leave?" Su Qing asked.

Su Hongye smiled and said, "Soonest might be in a week, or at most, in half a month."

"So soon?" Su He asked in surprise.

"Yes, your mother suggested this plan last year after your brother graduated. But because of your exams, it was postponed for another year. I've already tried to move my classes up as much as possible this year. Just a few more and we're done. We'll be back before you notice, and with the internet being so advanced now, I can video call with you about your applications. Won't miss out, and when we return, we can even throw you a graduation party." Old Su's smile was almost overflowing from his face while he spoke.

Although their family was fairly well-off, raising two kids had still consumed most of the couple's energy over the years. Now that both were through school, it was time for the couple to enjoy themselves.

"So where are you and mom planning to go?" Su Qing asked. Su He was clearly also eager to know and quickly jumped in:

"Yeah, yeah, where? I want to travel after graduation too. If it's on the way, maybe we could go part of the way together."

But it was clear old Su had discussed it with his wife; a honeymoon was their private affair—they certainly didn't want to be disturbed by anyone else, not even their children. After all, they'd been watching them for enough years.

"It's a secret. Telling you would spoil it. Anyway, you just need to know that soon, your mom and I will be off, leaving you two at home. Su Qing, you're the elder brother, keep an eye on your sister. Also, take care of our dog Da Huang for a while since we can't bring it along."

Upon hearing this, Su Qing frowned a little and then said, "Dad, I'm likely moving into a new place soon, and since it's rented, I'll need to discuss with the landlord first."

After all, some landlords don't allow tenants to keep dogs, so he needed to check this beforehand.

"I don't care; the plan your mom and I have is definitely not changing. You need to handle it on your end soon."

Then, Su Hongye turned to Su He and smiled, "Sweetie, although your exam results aren't out yet, have you thought about what major you want to study?"

"I think going to a normal school would be nice, eventually going for a master's or even a doctorate, then becoming a teacher."

Upon hearing this, Su He thought and replied, "I want to study finance, take care of money in the future."

Su Qing: ...

Su Hongye: ...

If she weren't Zhou Hui's biological daughter, it had to be a genetic mutation, revealing her greed for money.

"Alright then, as long as you like it. But Dad has just one more thing to say: take this time to relax, and even when you're in college, try not to rush into a relationship. College boys are not usually dependable; they're broke and can't shoulder responsibilities," old Su earnestly advised.

Parents all think this way. They wish they could watch over their "cabbage" all day lest some "pig" starts rooting around it.

"Dad, what are you talking about!" Su He puffed her cheeks indignantly; she hadn't really thought about this topic yet.

Meanwhile, Su Qing was laughing loudly: "You're spot on, Dad. Imagine if Su He brings home some flashy guy with dyed blond hair, wearing cropped pants and loafers, claiming she's pregnant with his kid—what would you do?"

Old Su: "I'd already be furious!"

Once Su He's college entrance exams were over, it was settled. The parents were going on their honeymoon soon, and he'd take care of Da Huang. As for Su He, she wouldn't stay idle either, most likely going on a graduation trip. Except for having an extra dog, nothing seemed different for him.

East City Public Security Bureau, Criminal Investigation Division.

"Sister Li, I don't mean anything by it, but shouldn't you be the one to inform your brother?" In the office, Du Qiang looked at Li Zijun in some confusion.

"Do I look like I'm so free? We have so many cases waiting for me to handle. I don't have time for such trivial matters. Just let him know," Li Zijun said somewhat uneasily.

Lately, because of Su Qing, their case had seen some progress, and Jiangcheng City had basically wrapped things up, though they couldn't help with out-of-province matters.

But this case would end just as another one began. Combined with Zhao Minghui's injury and rest, their workload had increased significantly.

Being a cop doesn't only involve dealing with murderers or robbers; many trivial cases require personal attention. Compared to the ones needing serious criminal investigation, household squabbles and community disputes are the real headaches.

"It's just a phone call, isn't it more hassle to come to me? Sister Li, you haven't had a fight with your childhood sweetheart, have you? Ouch!" Du Qiang teased with a knowing smile.

But the next second, he was smacked on the head.

Li Zijun rubbed her fist and, with a fierce look, said, "Just make the call. I'm not getting involved. Besides, don't you believe in feng shui? Have him help you with that missing-person case you've taken up recently."

With that, Li Zijun turned to leave, a blush appearing on her face just as she turned away.

Ever since that night when they ended up sleeping in the same bed, she felt uneasy whenever she thought about it. Thankfully, she left before Su Qing woke up; otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to face him with her thin skin.

Even so, lately, she's been avoiding contact with Su Qing, even meeting with him.

If it weren't for the bounty from that B-level wanted criminal to come through, she wouldn't consider reaching out to Su Qing, since she was the one following up on this issue.

Meanwhile, Su Qing wasn't aware of any of this, but he was finding himself caught up in something else.

Early the next morning, Su Qing was awakened by his phone's constant notification tones.

He looked at the backend of his video account in surprise, feeling as if he were dreaming.

He'd gone viral… to be precise, Da Huang had gone viral.
