Chef at the University Canteen

Chapter 208: Spring Dandelions Nature's Gifted Delicacy (Part 2)

"....."

Where there's excitement, there's also someone dousing it:

"I really don't understand what all of you are getting excited about. Are you all blind? The notice clearly states that reservations are only accepted on Monday mornings, no other time!"

"Haha, there are just a few private rooms, and as soon as you close your eyes and open them, they're fully booked. You'll all be as disappointed tomorrow as you are excited today!"

"Look at you all grinning, probably still unaware of the consumption level at the Seventh Dining Hall. It's just possible that even if you manage to book a room, you might not splurge to eat there!"

"....."

The comment section was a mixture of good and bad, with all sorts of people.

But undoubtedly, those who rushed over right after the notice was released were mostly hoping to successfully book a private room, so they could bring their family or friends to the Seventh Dining Hall at Jiang University and taste these legendary top-notch dishes.

Regarding the online uproar caused by the restart of reserving private rooms, Jiang Yu naturally didn't care.

At the moment, he was in the kitchen on the first floor of the Seventh Dining Hall, busy with Lu Shuwu, Jia Zhibin, and others preparing breakfast for the next day.

Jia Zhibin was in the prep area, busy handling various ingredients like duck necks, duck feet, and duck wings, which were to be made into hot braised dishes later on.

Meanwhile, Jiang Yu and Lu Shuwu were busy preparing the soup dumpling filling and kneading the dough in a large stainless steel basin.

"Boss, since we launched two types of spring rolls recently, the students seem to really like them."

Lu Shuwu, busy with his work, looked up at Jiang Yu and said with a laugh,

"The other dining halls at Jiang University responded quickly too. After we sold them for just a few days, Dining Hall One and Two also started making spring rolls. It's a shame theirs aren't as tasty as ours. Some students who are too lazy to come over here tried theirs once and never bought them again."

"The school's dining halls have healthy competition, which is not a bad thing."

Jiang Yu, using a pair of specially made long chopsticks, stirred the filling and laughed, saying,

"Everyone is figuring out ways to improve the quality and taste of their dishes, which in the end benefits the students at the school."

"That's why I say, Jiang University's students are the happiest now. Not only do they make students at other schools envious, but even those alumni who have already graduated are drooling with envy."

Lu Shuwu chuckled and sighed,

"The food they eat, not to mention comparing to the Seventh Dining Hall, even Dining Hall One and Two at Jiang University have dishes that taste several times better than others, it can't even compare."

Honestly, Jiang University's dining halls can be like this all because of you, boss!"

"Don't mention credit."

Hearing this, Jiang Yu shook his head repeatedly and laughed, "Maybe the bosses of the other dining halls are close to hating me."

Who wouldn't hate?

When you could easily make money from students, but now you have to rack your brains to improve dining hall dishes' taste and so forth, and might not even make more than before...

This is all Jiang Yu and his Seventh Dining Hall's doing!

After chatting for a while, Jiang Yu suddenly seemed to remember something and said to Lu Shuwu:

"There's no reservation for Room Seven tomorrow; I'm planning to take a day off, leaving the dining hall affairs to you."

The previous reservations for Room Seven have all been fulfilled; tomorrow is the first day to restart bookings, meaning the restaurant is currently free, allowing Jiang Yu to adjust the business hours at his discretion.

Since the dining hall opened after the new year, Jiang Yu hasn't had a proper rest, always busy in the first-floor kitchen making soup dumplings or cooking on the second floor, long exhausted.

Now that there's such an opportunity to rest, he naturally doesn't want to pass it up.

"Oh, no problem, haven't I been responsible during this period?"

Lu Shuwu didn't mind, smiled at Jiang Yu, and casually asked, "Since you're planning to rest tomorrow, have you thought about what to do beforehand?"

"Haven't thought about where to go yet."

Jiang Yu hesitated, then shook his head and said,

"Maybe just go to the library to read and relax, or sleep a bit more to recharge, not sure what else to do."

"Tsk, tsk, your everyday life is quite dull."

Hearing this, Lu Shuwu couldn't help but look at Jiang Yu with a bit of sympathy, suggesting,

"I think you might as well find a few people to go hiking or fishing in the countryside. Now it's spring, a season of growth, with such good weather, why aren't you out enjoying it?"

"Spring outing?"

Jiang Yu paused again, seemingly reminded of something, couldn't help but smile and nodded,

"If you hadn't mentioned it, I would've forgotten about spring outings."

He paused and reminded Lu Shuwu,

"By the way, early tomorrow morning, Boss Zhao from the fresh food delivery center will bring a batch of cress. Make sure to prepare it so that when I return in the evening, I can make Cress Fried Bacon for the dining hall."

Though Cress Fried Bacon is common in many places, it's indeed one of Jiangzhou's top ten famous dishes.

Cress is a common water grass from Poyang Lake, and this dish was first invented by fishermen living by the lake. Due to its unique water grass aroma after cooking, crisp and refreshing taste, it slowly made its way onto people's dining tables.
