Chapter 830: High Inquisitor

"According to your father's will, I came to bring you to him. The Holy Light will never be extinguished," Lu Li said, then gently added, "The spirit of the Paladins must be continued. Although darkness envelops this fallen land, the Holy Light is still guides all people. As long as our faith does not waver, all things will not wither.
These were words from Myranda. Lu Li had only relayed them to Tyran, since he thought that they would be encouraging to him.
"Who are you?"
The four guards were filled with anger, even before Tyran had spoken.
Their real objective was not only to guard Tyran, but also to spy on him for Isillien. After hearing Lu Li's words, they had instantly become enranged.
They were about to attack Lu Li, but were interrupted by Tyran, who stood in front of Lu Li, and commanded, "Stand down. I have business with this man. He is not our enemy."
"This cannot be! The High Inquisitor requested for your protection. Attack!"
Lu Li was dressed as a Scarlet Crusader, so he appeared to be one of them.
They did want to engage Tyran Fordring in battle, as he was the figurehead of the Scarlet Crusade, but they planned to go around him and kill this traitorous soldier.
Lu Li began to worry as he could be attacked, which would cause him to lose this transformation.
Fortunately, Tyran Fordring wouldn't let anything happen to Lu Li, either out of compassion or the code he had sworn by as a Paladin.
He drew his longsword and began to fend off the four guards.
From Lu Li's perspective, Tyran Fordring was truly strong. However, he could not unleash his full strength, perhaps because of his wavering faith or the alcohol.
However, he was still fully capable of defeating the guards.
The Four Paladins could not hope to break Tyran's defense, unless they unleashed their ultimate skills.
"We should finish this quickly. Otherwise, reinforcements will arrive and we won't be able to escape," Lu Li quickly reminded.
"Stand down. I am leaving this place now. Please do not stop me," Tyran Fordring said.
"What led to the fall of your faith? Are you going to betray the Crusade?" one of the guards yelled, then swung his blade and said, "Kill this traitor."
Although he was a figurehead leader in the Crusade, he was still quite capable in battle.
Tyran Fordring was enraged. He did not want to kill anyone, but this did not mean he was a complete pacifist.
The four guards were no match for him at all. After all, there was a massive difference in skill level between a normal soldier and a Boss.
"We will kill our way out," Tyran Fordring said as he wiped his blood-stained face and rushed out from the castle.
What the heck? Why did it have to be like this?
Lu Li was a little gloomy. He couldn't hope to stop this impulsive man in time to escape before they had sounded the alarms for reinforcements.
Even though he was a puppet, it would have been easier for him to be stopped than to fight their way out.
If they had followed Lu Li's strategy, they might have escaped Fireplace Valley with no conflict or injuries.
Perhaps this had been designed by the System. If that was the case, Lu Li could not do anything but follow closely.
He waited for an opportunity to attack.
No one would have expected that Lu Li was actually a Thief in his current disguise, whether in game or in real life.
"My Lord, please count your life as something precious," a Scarlet Crusade Commander said.
Behind him was a line of Scarlet Crusaders, and he was by definition a Boss as well. The collaboration of all their strength posed a great threat to Tyran Fordring.
However, Tyran was not afraid at all; he was yearning to return to his father. As he raised his blade with a smile, he said, "All this time, I was the puppet of the Scarlet Crusade. What led you all to rebel like this In these 10 years, I have not forgotten any of my memories with my father. These precious things had allowed me to continue to live."
"I often dreamed that my father was with me. He stood beside me proudly and watched on as I joined the knighthood. All of us rallied in battle against the Scourge, and brought glory and honour to the Alliance and Lordaeron…"
Lu Li was a little moved, and this clearly showed by his expression. He had hoped that these soldiers would also be moved, just like he was. He had hoped that there would no bloodshed, and that they would give way to Tyran.
However, Lu Li ended up disappointed, since the spirits of these soldiers had already been lost. Their ruthlessness was not only used against the Scourge, but against all those who opposed their ways of thinking.
"Don't obstruct my way home, you bastards," Tyran Fordring spat. He knew that this was going to happen, so he rushed forward first.
His desire to return to his home had unleashed a considerable amount of strength in him, and he cut down the Boss-like Commander along with his soldiers. None of them were strong enough to match him in battle.
All the Scarlet Crusaders had been ordered to kill Tyran Fordring on sight.
Fireplace Valley was not the main camp of the Scarlet Crusade, but was only used to spy and confine Tyran Fordring.
However, he would be held captive no longer. He was like a lion that had awakened from a deep slumber; there was nothing that anyone could do to stop him. There was only one goal on his mind – to return to his father's side.
His eyes were red with rage, and he did not spare any Scarlet Crusaders that entered his line of sight.
Lu Li reminded him again and again about not wasting time, but he ignored even that. The will and determination of a Paladin could not be shaken after they had set their eyes on something.
As strong as he was, Tyran was still mortal. However, he had healing abilities, which
made things a lot easier for Lu Li.
They escaped the camp after crossing one more outpost and two more intersections. When they arrived at the edge of a forest, Tyran could not hold back his urge to speed up due to his emotions.
The guards here were weaker than the ones in Fireplace Valley, but Lu Li was more nervous.
Suddenly, a cold, sharp voice resounded through the air from the outpost as three people walked out. The one who led the three was the High Inquisitor himself, Isillien.
"You aren't going anywhere, you traitor!"
