Chapter 887: Heart to Heart

Lu Li was silent for a while, but he had to admit that Water Fairy was right.

He wasn’t marching out against Gangnam Royals to get rid of them. He just wanted to secure Ruling Sword’s position and continue building it up.

Ruling Sword was growing too quickly and that wasn’t a good thing.

“I suggest you ask for more money. That’s probably all they have left, or…” Water Fairy paused and made a face, then continued, “You could also ask for their star players, like Innocent Child or Dancing Star Dream. They don’t have a good relationship with Heart of War.”

“I see.”

Lu Li wasn’t sure at first, but he suddenly realized that she was right – and a vicious woman.

“Since he is a leader that is incapable of seeing the big picture, why don’t you give him an easy way out? If you push them hard enough, the Gangnam Royals probably wouldn’t fall, but Heart of War would be left in an unstable position. If he was replaced with a more competent leader, they would know that the loss wasn’t worth it,” Water Fairy explained with a mocking smile.

“I see that you’re ruthless,” Lu Li said sincerely.

Lu Li had no talent in these strategic aspects, as he hadn’t received a basic education. Even Square Root 3 was much better than him in guild management and managing daily affairs.

“It won’t be… easy for us either,” Water Fairy muttered. She seemed to have realized something and suddenly looked vacant.

“What else do you have to worry about?”

In Lu Li’s eyes, people like Water Fairy were walking goddesses. She could be appropriately described as the Queen of Drizzle Court, but here she was talking about how it wasn’t easy for her. The words that were coming out of her mouth seemed unnatural.

“I don’t really want to talk about it. Is Xin Xin okay?” Water Fairy asked, changing the subject. Apparently, she didn’t want to continue the conversation.

“She’s okay – just bored at home. She’s recently learned to act more spoiled,” Lu Li’s answered. His face softened when his sister was mentioned.

“You two have a very good relationship,” Water Fairy said with admiration.

“Don’t you have siblings?” Lu Li asked.

“No, but…” Water Fairy frowned and said, “That woman – my stepmom – recently got pregnant.”

Stepmother?

Lu Li didn’t know if he should congratulate her. Normally, no matter how selfless a stepmother was, if given the choice between a step child and their own child, they would always choose their own child.

“I’m afraid I can never treat my unborn sibling the way you have to your sister,” Water Fairy continued with a bitter smile.

“Your dad doesn’t just want a son, right?” Lu Li knew that this was a thorny subject as well.

“I don’t think so. I have been trained strictly by him since a young age, so he wouldn’t give up on me now, but there will just be more variables in future,” Water Fairy explained. She had mixed feelings about it.

When she was young, she enviously watched as other children freely played, while she had to stay in her house and receive tutoring from several family teachers. At her most rebellious age, she was eager to escape her fate and even had thoughts of running away from home.

Just as she was ready to accept her fate, she was told that her position might be replaced.

What a joke!

Lu Li didn’t really understand was it like to be rich, but he already knew what they would say.

“It will take a long time for him to grow up. How about you start your own business so your future will be yours?”

Water Fairy considered this idea seriously and nodded.

“You seem to be pretty good that that. There’s no reason I couldn’t do it too, right?”

“As this game gets more popular, you can come to take advantage of it.”

Although Lu Li had only been reborn three years earlier, he knew better than anyone else how this game would change over the coming years.

The gaming and entertainment industries were booming. With the mainstream surge of intelligent robots, the gaming industry would continue to make rapid progress while all other industries began facing issues.

“Everything in the game right now is mine to manage. It seems pretty easy to get stuff like this,” Water Fairy said.

“It’s a bit too early to start worrying…”

Lu Li felt like the situation was a bit absurd. Water Fairy had just found out that her stepmother was pregnant and already felt like her survival was threatened. In fact, most of these thoughts were just a product of her paranoid mind.

“Alright, let’s start our quest. We’ll go in and attack them to create a diversion,” Water Fairy said as she stopped at the edge of the camp.

Lu Li looked at the camp and felt like this seemed difficult. The camp was just too big for a diversion to work, and as Water Fairy had said, the monsters here were intelligent.

“We can actually send for players to lead the small monsters away,” he suggested.

“If the organization finds out that we asked for help, we’ll fail the quest,” Water Fairy said helplessly.

“Gadgetzan’s Chief Engineer Bilgewhizzle has two regular quests. One requires the players to kill 10 Wasteland Thieves and the other to kill 10 Wasteland Robbers. If they accepted those quests, they would be detected,” Lu Li explained as he began to contact some other players.

Ruling Sword’s Thieves soon arrived after receiving their orders.

Hundreds of players rushed over after they took the quest. They were about to log off for the day, and didn’t mind helping the Boss with something.

“Boss, you’re…”

When they arrived, they saw the graceful female tycoon standing by Lu Li.

The Thief’s stature was very revealing, and even though her face was covered, the players could immediately see through it. Many players personally came afterwards to greet her. They had never done a quest for the cold female tycoon before, and thought it was an amazing opportunity.

“Is this Water Fairy?”

Someone was in the group was bound to know who she was, especially given the rumors of their relationship.

Water Fairy didn’t hide anymore and greeted the players that were around her.

“You’ve all worked hard to come here so late in the day.”

“Haha, it’s no problem, haha…” a Thief nearby laughed foolishly. They had all heard the rumors, but seeing these two in person confirmed it for some.

“Quickly go and do your quest. Your goal is to pull the monsters as far away as possible,” Lu Li said as he waved his hand and started giving out instructions.

“Alright Boss, you can have a nice chat with Miss Water, hehe,” the Thief laughed as he left with the others. It was likely that there were few more around in Stealth.

Lu Li was speechless, but he wasn’t an idiot. He knew what these players meant, but he never thought of Water Fairy like that.

Before he entered the game, he and Water Fairy were two people from different worlds, but even now, they were still quite a distance apart.
