Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 77: Otherworld Spatial Gate

Flowers Coffee House.

Lin Feng and four others walked into this coffee house, not far from the school gate, which students called a lovers' paradise.

The coffee house wasn't very luxurious but had its unique charm. Upon entering, one felt as if they had stepped into a garden.

The air was filled with the fragrance of nature, making people feel relaxed. Beneath their feet was not a floor, but a neatly trimmed lawn. Green vines climbed every corner of the coffee house, and various elegantly colored flowers were everywhere, like stars adorned in the night sky.

Even in the heat of summer, the air conditioning was on, spreading a chill, yet these flowers and plants still emanated a vibrant life force.

Some flowers that normally wouldn't bloom in summer were in full bloom, which was obviously unusual, but Lin Feng and the others weren't surprised.

"Sister Cai, five original iced coffees."

Dong Yunan was familiar with the lady boss of the coffee house and greeted her as soon as they entered.

The lady boss, around thirty years old, glanced at Yun Kai, a hint of surprise in her eyes, though she didn't show it. She smiled at Dong Yunan: "Yu Nan and classmates are here, it'll be ready soon."

Lin Feng observed this lady boss named Sister Cai, knowing that although she appeared ordinary, she was a Demon Spirit Master.

A Demon Spirit Master who had refined a Floral Butterfly.

Flowers Coffee House was named after its demon spirit.

The Floral Butterfly was a First Grade demon spirit, the lowest level of demon spirit. This support-type demon spirit had no attack capability; its innate ability was to sense plants and bestow robust life force upon them, which was why the plants inside the coffee house were so lively.

Demon Spirit Masters were very precious and their status surpassed that of martial artists, but this more often referred to those who refined Intermediate-level and above demon spirits.

Many who refined Low-level and support-series demon spirits did not have much higher status than ordinary martial artists.

Among these Low-level Demon Spirit Masters, most would not choose to enter the Otherworld or hunt demon beasts outdoors. They lived ordinary lives, just like normal people.

But compared to ordinary people, they possessed an additional skill that afforded them a better life.

"Call me if you need anything."

Sister Cai quickly brought over the five cups of coffee. After she left, Lin Feng and the others sat together, beginning the Martial Arts Club's first group meeting since its founding.

Yang Fan took out his phone and opened the voice recording function, while Gao Hai, Dong Yunan, and Yun Kai sat upright, looking curious.

"This counts as the first member gathering since the Jianghu Martial Arts Club was formally established."

Lin Feng raised his cup, took a sip of coffee, and started simply.

"Brother Feng, what's the matter? Why so mysterious?"

Their eyes sparkled with curiosity and excitement.

At only sixteen, still in their final year at high school, they had their own Martial Arts Club. According to Lin Feng, the club's future was bright, so this was considered their career.

They were working hard for their career, and this meeting's atmosphere filled them with excitement.

"There's three million New Coin on this card. Within two months, I need you to use all this money to collect Purple-winged Spirit Insects." Lin Feng handed the bank card to Gao Hai.

"Brother Feng, what are we collecting Purple-winged Spirit Insects for?" Yang Fan looked at the bank card, puzzled.

He knew of the Purple-winged Spirit Insects. They were covered in the middle school course "Insect and Demon Beast Identification."

Purple-winged Spirit Insects had trace amounts of toxins in their bodies. These toxins could paralyze a person, earning them the nickname of outdoor 'anesthetic,' but they had no other purpose. Why would anyone want these insects for no reason?

One insect was only a few tens of coins. Three million could buy tens of thousands of them?

Not only Yang Fan, but also Dong Yunan and Yun Kai were confused, though Gao Hai had an inkling because he had bought Purple-winged Spirit Insects with Lin Feng before.

"You'll understand their use after two months. Remember, this task could be worth billions or even hundreds of billions of New Coin. You aren't playing house here."

Lin Feng didn't explain why they were collecting the Purple-winged Spirit Insects and he didn't want to interfere with their process. His demand was simple: collect as many Purple-winged Spirit Insects as possible within two months.

The task was not complex, it might even be considered simple; it all depended on completion.

"Yu Nan, I need your help with this," Lin Feng said to Dong Yunan.

As the daughter of the vice president of the Demon Spirit Master Association, her assistance would make collecting Purple-winged Spirit Insects much easier.

"Alright!"

Dong Yunan nodded; this wasn't a difficult task.

Even though she was not yet an adult, as a future Eighth Grade Therapist, she didn't even need to trouble her father; many would help her with just a word.

She was just curious about what could be done with the Purple-winged Spirit Insects when Lin Feng said they were valued at billions?

Is that even possible?

"Brother Feng, what do you need me to do?" Yun Kai asked, wanting to contribute too.

"First, buy all the Purple-winged Spirit Insects in Jiang City's pharmacies. I guess there are only a few hundred, not many. The main effort should be through Yu Nan, using the Demon Spirit Master Association's resources for efficient collection."

Lin Feng thought for a moment and said to Yun Kai, "There's no rush for this task; Gao Hai and the others can accomplish it. Your main focus now is cultivation; become stronger, then show your tribe what Ancestral Demonization is!"

Yun Kai nodded, knowing he couldn't help much for the moment.

"I'll do my best!"

Yun Kai said, also curious about the reaction of a tribe that had once disliked and rejected him, if when they realized what Ancestral Demonization was.

And how would his parents, who had gradually distanced themselves, treat him?

And how should he face them?

"Alright, I'll leave the rest to you. You are the core members of the Jianghu Martial Arts Club; don't underestimate this title."

"And don't see this as a task I'm forcing on you, but as your future career. What you contribute to the Martial Arts Club will determine the benefits you receive later."

Having finished his coffee, Lin Feng promptly left, leaving Yang Fan and the others exchanging looks.

"What do you think Brother Feng meant by his last words?"

Dong Yunan curiously asked, and having been around Yang Fan and the others for a while, she had gotten used to calling Lin Feng Brother Feng.

"He means the more effort, the more gain; a stronger Martial Arts Club benefits us," Yang Fan explained.

"Anyway, Brother Feng won't shortchange us," Yun Kai added.

"Enough talking. This is our Martial Arts Club's first important mission, and failure is not an option."

Yang Fan said, "Let's first discuss how exactly to collect the Purple-winged Spirit Insects? What are the specific steps, and what support can Yu Nan provide?"

.....

After leaving the coffee house, Lin Feng bought a hat for ten coins at a nearby clothing store, then began sprinting down the street.

The afternoon combat and physical training was meaningless for him; Lin Feng didn't want to waste time.

Ten minutes later, Lin Feng gradually stopped beneath an unfamiliar place.

Why call it unfamiliar? Because his location was in the city's central region.

The city center was bustling with people, full of skyscrapers, with land use efficiency at its peak, yet in this expensive area, there was a large empty space.

There was only one enormous, yurt-like building occupying five hectares.

Outside this building, armed forces patrolled, and many armed martial artists were coming and going.

The closer to the yurt, the stricter the security, with guards every three steps and checkpoints every five.

"Space Gate No. 1!"

Lin Feng thought to himself as he looked at the yurt in front.

Inside the yurt was a point of entry to the Otherworld, called a Space Gate.

Each Space Gate was guarded by the military and martial artists, and each one led to a different sector with varying degrees of danger.

There were 46 such Space Gates in Jiang City, numbered starting at 1; the number indicated danger level, with higher numbers being more dangerous.

No. 1 was the safest Space Gate, but even the safest was only dared by First Grade martial artists.

"A small kid joining the fun."

"Without a weapon, what's he here for?"

"Relax, once he goes in and sees those cards, he'll probably get scared and come right out."

Lin Feng followed behind other martial artists, intending to enter the yurt. Despite wearing a hat, one could still discern from his features that he was young. Several martial artists pointed at Lin Feng and teased him.

Lin Feng ignored their banter and entered the yurt after verifying his identity information.
