Legendary Awakening: Harem System In The Post-Apocalyptic World

Chapter 60: Face Off

At first Max thought Henry had somehow found out that he was fucking his wife, but the next moment, he knew this wasn't the case because Henry had an extremely grim and somewhat panicked expression on his face.

"What's wrong?" Max asked,

"Sir, there is a situation. Someone has come with ill intentions and is asking for you." Henry explained.

"Is that so?" Max narrowed his eyes, a little surprised.

Given how the people behind the scene had been acting, gathering masses to attack the mansion instead of doing it themselves, he had thought they weren't willing to face them themselves just yet for whatever reasons. So, he hadn't expected them to appear so openly so soon.

As for why he immediately assumed this person was Samuel's goon, it was simply because no one else in the Red City would dare to confront the Governor's Mansion, especially not after the news of him slaughtering all those people must have spread.

"Let's go." He said, not bothering to wipe his sweat or fix his hair.

Henry followed him out, but not before taking a quick glance at the messy room and the person lying on the sofa, covered with the blanket.

"Sir Williams, this person is very dangerous. He is covered with blood completely—he had probably slaughtered many people. And even more horrifying, guns aren't effective against him. Jack and I had fired a few shots, but he only grunted before rushing up to us." He said while walking out of the administration building.

"Fortunately, he didn't seem keen on attacking us, otherwise Jack and I would have already been killed."

Max glanced at him, surprised.

He knew Henry had seen the mess he and Vivian made during the past two hours and had smelt the intense smell of sex.

Moreover, he should have seen Vivian's clothes and her shoes strewn about the room, and should have realized it was Vivian under the blanket.

But even so, he didn't look angry, heartbroken or sad.

'Could it be that he didn't recognise her clothes and shoes and thinks I was with someone else?' Max wondered and nodded to himself. This was likely the case.

'I should be more careful from now on.' He thought.

While he didn't fear Henry, and deep down he even wanted him to find out, or catch him and Vivian fucking for the thrill he would feel, he knew Vivian didn't want the same.

"So, please be careful sir." Henry said.

"Don't worry." Max nodded and they soon arrived at the mansion's gate where Jack and a few others were standing on the side, uneasily looking at a hulking man, who was standing there with his eyes closed.

As if sensing Max's gaze, he opened his eyes which immediately narrowed when he saw Max.

"Are you a Williams?" Jamie asked.

'Hm?' Max raised his brows in surprise. Even the ancient families' people shouldn't be able to tell whether someone was from the Williams family or not just based on the looks, especially because neither he, nor his father had any special features.

But this scary looking guy guessed it.

"Yes. I am." Max nodded before asking, "How did you guess?"

Jamie did not answer and instead asked, "How are you related to Arthur Williams?"

"Arthur?" Max frowned. The name was unfamiliar.

"Hm, so you aren't related to him?" Jamie muttered.

Max shook his head, "I don't know because other than my father, I haven't met any other Williams."

"I understand." Jamie nodded and glancing at Henry, he said, "Seeing he brought you here, I take it that you are the person in charge of this place?"

"Yes." Max nodded, "Now, you tell me, did Samuel Brown send you?"

"That's correct." Jamie nodded.

"You are here to take my mother away?" Max asked.

Hearing this, Jamie frowned, "That woman… Sarah, she is your… mother?"

Max looked at him strangely, not understanding what was going on in his mind. Still, he nodded in confirmation and to his surprise, realized he wasn't feeling annoyed.

Normally, if someone had asked him so many questions while ignoring his question, he would have lost his patience already and adding the fact he was here for his mother, he would have attacked him, but he was strangely calm.

After staying silent for a while, Jamie said, "I'm sorry, but I have to take her away."

Max's gaze darkened hearing this.

Step! Step! Step!

He walked toward him with slow steps and curiously asked, "Why are you sorry?"

"Because you look similar to Mr. Arthur, who is my benefactor. He did me a life-saving favor a few years ago." Jamie said, calmly looking at him.

"I see." Max said and continued walking towards him. When he was in front of him, he stopped and slowly raised his hand.

Jamie stared at him, a slightly perplexed look in his eyes. Then, he watched as Max put that hand on his shoulder.

Tap!

Immediately, his pupils constricted because he felt as if it wasn't Max's hand that was on his shoulder, but a heavy iron pillar, causing him to sink a few inches, his knees bending down a little.

Creak! Creak!

Staring down at Max—because he was 7 feet tall, over a foot taller than Max—with some surprise in his otherwise emotionless deep brown eyes, Jamie began to straighten his knees.

But to his astonishment, he realized no matter how much strength he used, he could not stand up straight. And as he began using more and more of his strength, his shoulder bones and knees began to creak as though they were going to break.

Finally, his expression changed, becoming grim.

"You are very strong." He said,

Max took his hand back and looking at him with an indifferent look in his eyes, he asked, "Are you confident in taking her away with me here?"

Shua!

In response, Jamie suddenly clenched his fist and punched toward his head. The punch was so fast that it made wind whistle around it.

Jack, Henry and others' hearts skipped a beat and their eyes widened in horror. However, before they could even shout a warning…

Bang!
