I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 120: One Small Step for Leo one giant step for mankind

Valeroth turned to the person that looked identical to Timmy. He grabbed the person by the collar, and the two seemed to be arguing about something.

Leo was really curious to hear what they were talking about. Unfortunately, it was impossible.

The man who looked like Timmy, shook his head lightly. Even though his collar was grabbed by Valeroth, he still had the hint of a smile on his lips as he said something.

Valeroth released the man's collars, scoffing. In the next moment, he looked above, and flew into the sky. The man also snapped his finger, disappearing.

Meanwhile, Selene also disappeared, returning to the VIP Room where she had left her daughter.

Even now, her daughter Lyra hadn't stepped out of the room, despite someone being kidnapped from the room.

"Are you alright?" Selene asked, appearing before Lyra.

"Mother... I saw him... That person from Necropolis... I'm still convinced that he is the man that you brought with yourself. Will you still not believe me?" Lyra asked, immediately holding Selene's hand.

"The intruder has already left. As for the person you're talking about, I just saw him outside," Selene answered, stunning her daughter once more.

Lyra felt like she was going crazy. She truly saw Leo with the person that had attacked Nephilim Prince. And then, she saw that masked person with him.

Wasn't that too much of a coincidence for it to not be Leo? Even if that wasn't the case, the two were still somewhat related. She was convinced.

However, the more she tried to explain, the more it gave the impression that she was just biased against Leo. In the end, she kept those thoughts to herself.

In any case, there was no point in discussing it anymore, since the kidnapping had already happened.

Lyra lowered her head, sighing. "Alright. I will not mention it anymore."

"We are leaving," Selene said, after a long period of silence. This time, she didn't leave directly through teleportation.

She stepped out of the room, followed by Lyra.

She went through the same route that she had taken towards the garden, catching the sight of a crowd there.

As soon as one person saw her and exclaimed, the entire crowd stepped aside, creating a path for the person.

Meanwhile, a few representatives of the Galactic Union came forward to greet the Monarch of Seraphim again before her departure.

Selene ignored the leaders of the upper planets, and approached Leo, who was standing next to Blaze.

She stopped before Leo, having to look down on him because she was genuinely taller than him.

Leo didn't know what to say. He simply glanced back at her, wondering why she was approaching him now.

"I enjoyed our little conversation. I hope we will meet again someday. Until then..." She reached out her hand, and ruffled Leo's hair. "Don't hurt yourself, frail human."

She didn't wait for Leo's answers and walked past him. Next, it was Lyra's turn.

She stepped closer to Leo, and whispered in his ears. "I know you're somehow related to this mess. You better behave yourself while you have the chance, or the next time, you'll regret it."

"I'll keep that in mind, Sister Lyra," Leo whispered back, making Lyra almost spit in disgust.

This human was already trying to act cozy with her just because her mother treated him nicely?

If Ossius and Malakor were here seeing this, they would've simply asked her, "First time?"

Selene walked past Leo, her shoulder colliding with Leo's shoulder, making him stumble back. If he wasn't supported by Blaze, he might have fallen already.

"Hmph... Keep acting." Lyra scoffed, glancing back at Leo one last time before she also flew into the sky, following her mother.

With that, all the representatives of the Ancient Planets had left, and Leo could finally sigh in relief. He wasn't caught, and he could relax a little.

'Wait! Valeroth left without paying the auction house for the Lotus? What happens to my money now?' Leo suddenly realised, almost cursing at the sky.

Just then, the Auction House Owner arrived, and asked, "Can we talk in private?"

Without hesitation, Leo nodded. He followed the man, telling Blaze and the others to wait for him since they were his ride back.

And with that, the entire chaos had temporarily calmed down, albeit by sowing seeds for something even bigger.

The Auction House immediately started the repair and cleaning work. They also escorted the remaining treasure that were successfully auctioned, to the owners.

There was only one treasure which Timmy had won, but they couldn't find the buyer. They simply thought that the person had died, and stopped looking for him.

Meanwhile, most of the guests that had won at the auction, received their items and started departing in a hurry, carrying the story of this incident to spread to others.

With this, the entire universe was about to know the existence of the three ancient houses and the fact that a conflict was brewing.

As that was happening, Leo was sitting in the Auction House Owner's office, having a cup of tea made from enlightenment tea leaves.

"I believe you already know that the Celestial Lotus was auctioned for a trillion credits before it was... borrowed and taken away, never reaching the rightful owner? That's why, we can't in good conscience ask the winner to pay the bidding prince?"

Hearing the Auction House Owner, Leo calmly nodded. He didn't help but think, 'Even if the Lotus wasn't stolen, you think the winner would be able to pay? Also what was stolen? The Lotus is still in my storage ring.'

Leo had long taken off the storage ring, but it was still in his pocket, carrying the item that he had sold, only to receive it in the end as a thief.

"Are you trying to say that the Auction House won't compensate me?" Leo asked, his voice growing colder.

The Auction House Owner dryly laughed. If it was before, he would have been talking more confidently.

Unfortunately, after hearing from his staff that Leo was close to Selene to the point that they sat in the same VIP Room, and the conversation in the end where Selene went to find him in the crowd before leaving... He couldn't ignore him anymore.

"Don't worry. I have good news for you. We have received compensation from Nephilim, which took the Lotus. Fifteen Hundred Billion Credits... They have transferred fifty percent more than the winning bid price as compensation. So you can rest assured."

"If anything, you should think about where you want to spend that money. Congratulations, Lord Leo. Because you are now... A very wealthy man. Even after our fees, you would still get 1.35 Trillion Credits!"

The Auction House Owner stood up, and reached out his hand towards Leo, congratulating him.

Leo tried to hide his happiness and pretend to be calm, yet the corner of his lips kept betraying him. If he could truly see his face right now, he would be embarrassed of himself.

In his path to become the richest man in the universe, he took a small step today. And with this, he finally had everything that he needed to bring his entire space sector to its knees.

He reached out his hand, and the deal with the Auction House was completed. As for the credits, they were immediately transferred to his personal account.

When Leo came to the Auction House, he barely had a few million credits. But when he stepped out of it, his personal wealth was more than Even the valuation of his company. And that was just the beginning…
