Leo wasn't alone on the ground either. Next to him, poor Timmy was in a similar situation. He looked like he could faint at any moment from stress.
He repeatedly glared at Leo, throwing daggers with his eyes. Just as he had initially expected, Leo was truly his bane.
Every time he interacted with Leo, he always ended up with bad luck that led him to such surreal situations.
Leo had no time to pay attention to Timmy's reaction towards him. He was more distracted by the aliens around him.
The aliens were talking with each other, but in Leo's ears, it sounded like shrieks and nothing more. He couldn't understand a single thing they were talking about.
It was his first time seeing an alien species in real life. In the past, the closest he ever came to seeing an alien species was the news when some were welcomed to earth as guests for various summits.
Even then, he had never seen the species that was aiming a plasma gun at them.
They looked humanoid, at least from the neck down. The only difference was that their skin looked hard as an alligator's leather. But above the neck was where it was truly atrocious.
The alien creatures had a face that looked similar to an octopus yet not quite. They didn't have any hair above their head, instead there were tentacles that looked to be alive in place of their hair.
They had a human-like mouth with thick lips. Their eyes were wider than that of humans, and had double pupils in each eye. Unfortunately, their nose and ears seemed to be missing.
"Timmy, what are they saying?" Leo whispered in a low voice, just enough so that Timmy could hear him.
"Do I look like I did a thesis on alien languages? I have a translator but it's on the ship. Without it, I can't understand a single word they are saying."
"Do you think they are talking about what spices to use when they cook us?"
Hearing Leo's words, Timmy really made a crying face. He was trying really hard to control his tears as fear kept creeping up.
"I'm just kidding. Don't cry." Leo felt a little guilty for scaring Timmy, but it wasn't his intention. He was also scared, and only through such jokes could he keep some sanity.
"Don't worry. We are not destined to die here. I still have many things to achieve in the future after all," Leo mumbled, subconsciously clenching his fist behind his back.
"I will definitely get us out of here." He took a deep breath and made a promise to himself.
"Do you have a plan?" Timmy inquired, having his hopes rise up.
Even though Leo had always led him to trouble, it didn't change the fact that he was someone that even the Hero Tower wanted to do business with. A person like that wouldn't just accept his death, right?
"A plan? Not yet," Leo answered, pouring water all over Timmy's hopes. "It will depend on many factors, the most important of which is understanding their language."
"Can you understand us?!" Leo raised his voice and talked to the alien that was keeping his plasma gun at his head. "Is there anyone here who can speak our language?"
All the aliens paid attention to Leo as he spoke. But they soon returned to their own discussions as if they didn't understand a single thing.
"Well, it looks like it'll be harder than I thought. In that case, it's time for Plan T"
"Plan T?" Timmy asked. "When did we go through plans B to S?"
"Aren't there more important things for you to worry about than plan names?"
"R-right. So what's Plan T? Is there any way I can help you with that?"
"Only you can help me with that," Leo said while trying to move his hands a little. Unfortunately, the chains were tied so tightly that even minor movements made his skin scrape.
Shriek!
Seeing Leo move, the alien shrieked even louder as his finger moved close to the plasma gun's trigger.
"Fine! Fine! I won't move!" Leo lowered his head apologetically. However this small movement had allowed him to achieve some of the goals that he had set it to do.
Firstly, Timmy was directly behind him now. And secondly, Timmy's body was hiding him from the views of the Aliens that were behind them in the distance.
The Alien with the plasma gun relaxed a little as Leo stopped moving. He returned to his conversation, but this time something strange happened.
The alien brought out a device from his pocket which made Leo's eyes widen a little.
It was a communication device, but that wasn't the shocking part. It wasn't as if aliens couldn't have these things. The shocking part was that there was a very familiar symbol on the device.
It wasn't something that could just be brought everywhere. It was the Symbol of the Galactic Union, the overseeing authority of the entire galaxy.
In the history books of the forgotten era, there was something called the United Nations. With earth's advancements and changing realities, that had disappeared through the years.
The Galactic Union was similar to that. The only difference was that it was not limited to earth, but spread through the entire universe.
Leo had a lot of questions in his mind. Why would this communication device be here? And if these people were influential enough to get this, then what could they want from him?
His only achievement was the Mana Overload Elixir, but that was only useful for Earth's Heroes. It couldn't help any other species. Did the Hero Tower send them to take him? Even though he didn't want to think that, he couldn't deny the possibility as well.
There were things that they couldn't do being a righteous organization, but it didn't mean they couldn't employ shadow organizations under them to take care of such things?
'No that wouldn't make sense either. They shouldn't be short of mana elixirs for five years. And after that, we were going to negotiate again. Why would they do something like this to sabotage their chances?'
Leo had a lot of questions in his mind, but in the end, he could only toss them to the back of his head and focused on his safety.
However, just as he was about to continue his plan, he heard a voice coming through the communication device.
There was only one sentence, yet all the aliens silently heard it without even breathing loudly through it.
