My body was tense.
Every muscle felt locked in place, I could not even breathe properly.
The air felt heavy inside my chest.
Just her standing there released a huge amount of green lighting.
The green lighting poured out of her like a living storm.
It crawled through the air in thick waves, and cracked softly like distant thunder.
The light painted the ground in glowing emerald lines.
Shadows twisted unnaturally as the glow pulsed.
Space around her warped as if reality itself was afraid.
The green color felt cold and sharp against my skin.
It wasn't just light.
It felt like pressure.
I couldn't even hold my eyes open seeing her.
The glow burned through my vision.
My tears forced their way out no matter how hard I resisted.
And I was the strongest here.
That fact alone terrified me.
Looking beside me I saw all the girls.
They were scattered across the ground, their bodies lay still and powerless.
Every single one of them had lost consciousness.
Their faces were pale, and their breathing was shallow.
They looked fragile under that green glare.
With only Aria barely opening her eyes and looking at me.
Her lashes trembled as she forced them apart.
And her gaze struggled to focus.
She looked straight at me through the haze.
There was fear in her eyes, but also trust.
Her lips moved but no sound came out.
And she could barely stay awake.
I took them all in with one painful glance.
Chest tightened seeing them like that.
And my jaw clenched as anger mixed with fear.
I felt responsible for every one of them.
Aria's weak stare lingered on me the longest.
It felt like she was asking me to survive.
The empress raised her hand.
A ball of green electricity formed in its palm.
The energy spun wildly like a trapped beast.
Sparks snapped outward in every direction.
Her eyes turned green.
The same green as the storm around her.
And she glared at us.
Her stare crushed down on my spine, It felt like my bones might shatter.
The electric ball hummed louder, and the sound vibrated inside my skull.
"Stop it mother!"
The shout cut through the pressure.
Suddenly, the empress stopped in her tracks.
The green energy froze in her palm.
And looking behind her she found her daughter the queen.
The queen stood calm and composed.
Her posture was relaxed, and her eyes were sharp and amused.
There was no fear on her face.
"What is the meaning of this, Celina?"
The empress's voice was cold and controlled.
It carried authority that demanded answers.
The queen walked with her with a smirk and pointed at me.
Her finger stayed locked on my chest.
"Kill everyone else but leave him to me."
The words landed heavily in the air, as they echoed in my mind.
The empress raised an eyebrow at her and added, "why?"
The queen only crossed her arms and replied, "he will be-"
Her sentence hung unfinished.
The moment stretched too long, and before they could continue their discussion.
I raised my voice and said mockingly.
"You sure want to talk right now.
We are still in the middle of the fight"
The empress only tilted her head and said to me, "but how could the meager you, hurt me?"
Her tone was calm.
Her confidence was absolute.
It made my blood boil.
I raised my hand towards the sky then pointed towards Lucy.
I said, "I may not be able to hurt you.
But she can"
Suddenly Lucy shouted at me, "thank you Ragnar for buying me time.
Now I will nuke them"
Her voice was fierce and determined.
The air behind her vibrated violently.
Then she threw the violet ball of lighting she charged at both the empress and the queen.
The violet ball blazed like a dying star.
It pulsed with wild energy.
Purple arcs snapped violently around it.
The color clashed against the green light.
The sound was deafening.
It tore through the air leaving distortion behind it.
The ground beneath cracked from the pressure alone.
Thanks to my fast reflex, I lifted all the girls and ran away, evading the blast.
I scooped them up without hesitation.
Their bodies felt heavy and limp in my arms.
I pushed my legs harder than ever before.
The ground blurred beneath my feet.
Green and violet light flashed behind me.
I could feel heat crawling up my back.
I leapt over broken terrain.
I twisted midair to shield all the girls.
Every step was fueled by pure instinct.
The supreme empress rushed towards the queen shielding her.
Her movement was instant.
She crossed the distance like lightning.
Her body positioned itself perfectly in front of her daughter.
Booooooooom
The explosion ripped through everything.
A huge crater formed in the place we existed.
The shockwave blasted outward violently.
The ground folded inward like paper.
Dust and debris shot into the sky.
The sound swallowed the world.
The empress was still there standing with the queen behind her.
Smoke curled around their silhouettes.
Cracked stone floated briefly before falling.
The air shimmered with heat.
The two were inside a kind of green barrier.
The barrier flickered unevenly.
But the empress seemed to take damage.
Her armor was cracked.
Blood ran down her side.
Her breathing was heavy.
She could barely keep standing.
And the barrier started cracking.
"I'm going to steal the kill Lucy, hope you don't mind" I shouted.
I felt the opening clearly.
I could probably finish her alone with how much damaged she seemed.
My heart pounded loudly in my ears.
Seeing my chance I dashed towards her.
The distance closed fast.
My focus narrowed.
Everything else disappeared.
But the moment I got closer she had smirk on her face.
replaced her tired face and she said.
"You fell for it"
Then she raised her hand, and from it shot a blinding light.
"What the-?" Before I could continue my words, they somehow….
