Ding~
[Congrats, host. You are done with a 10km run.]
Noah did not even bother glancing at the table before him.
He was too tired for that.
[Now, only push-ups, squats and sit-ups are left.]
[Come on, you can do it, host.]
The system started to cheer him up. If it had a physical body, it might have even danced for him.
Sadly it didn't.
Visibly annoyed by this, Noah wanted to curse it, but he did not wish to waste his little energy on that.
So, he simply closed his eyes for a few seconds.
'Fuck... get up.'
After a short rest, he forced his body to stand up once again.
Right now, he wanted nothing more than just to sleep soundly.
He stretched his tired body and cracked his neck.
'32 push-ups, 68 squats and 43 sit-ups... still a long way to go... if only I could use man-?'
He was feeling dejected by how far behind he still was. It wasn't that he did not wish to do it, but being honest, that wasn't an easy task, at least not for someone as average and as fucking lazy as him.
He only wanted to get rid of the fatigue so he could continue.
Only if he could use mana... at least that was what he wanted, but something else hit him, making him look another way.
The system did mention that he cannot use mana, but he never needed to actually.
He had something far greater than that, at least till now, he doesn't remember using mana for that.
'I am an author... why not use it?'
Author's halo doesn't work on mana, but does on story points, which right now, he wasn't short on.
And how much will it even cost to just get rid of the fatigue?
"Hehehe... jokes on you motherfucker."
He smirked widely looking at the system panel. He could practically see it trying to hide from him.
Noah did not hesitate to use the Author's halo and eased his fatigue.
The process did not even take him a second.
He soon returned to normal and, as expected, he was all fine now, and the quest was still ongoing.
'Hehehe... found the cheat. Only cost me 10 story points. Not even a drop from the ocean.'
He laughed, not even hiding his mockery.
Feeling refreshed, he decided to continue again with a new light in his eyes.
Starting with squats... that was easier to do and finish soon.
With the cheat he just found, it did not take him long before he was done with 100 squats.
Ding~
[Congrats, host. Your squats are done.]
Very, very, very different from before, the system did not have that same excitement in its voice anymore.
Feeling the edge on him, Noah sneered and,
'Oh... is someone feeling down? Don't cry, don't cry, okay?'
The system did not say anything against that blatant provocation and went silent.
Noah also did not pursue the matter and went to do push-ups now.
This was still tiring to complete, but still, he did.
[Congrats host. Push-ups done.]
With each completion of the tasks, the system's voice went lower and lower.
'Damn, with this pace, it might become mute soon.'
Now that the 3 tasks were done, the only one remaining was... sit-ups.
He still needed to do 57 more to complete day 1.
Noah snapped his fingers. Spending 10 story points, he once again got back to his peak strength.
Without wasting a second, he hopped onto the do sit-ups.
44... 45... 46... 47...
Still watching him from far away, the dark figure couldn't help but be amazed.
'He seemed so tired just a while ago and yet, he seems fine now? What kind of magic is this? But I don't sense any mana from that man.'
The curiosity for Noah increased more and more. No matter what, anyone who did not know about his cheat ability, would marvel at what he had just done.
No magic spell can fix the fatigue so efficiently and, as a matter of fact... There was not a single use of mana.
Yet, no matter what, one thing was not getting clear,
'How did he manage to beat Noelle? I have seen him before; his talent is nowhere near close to his sister's, so how? Did she go easy on him?'
As that figure was shrouded in confusion, Noah was about to finish the last of his task for today.
'97... 98... 99... 100.'
And with that, he was done.
Once again covered in sweat, he closed his eyes, lying on that cold land.
"Finally."
But this time, rather than regret, he was smiling.
Even if he used the story points as a help to heal his fatigue, in the end, he was the one who completed his task.
The sense of accomplishment was far greater than the pain he was feeling right now.
Ding~
[Congratulations, host. Sit-ups are completed.]
[Day 1 of the basic training is done. Continue this process for the next 6 days.]
'You back to normal again?'
[I am always normal, host.]
'As if.'
He responded, clearly not in agreement with the system.
Opening his eyes slowly, he stared at the sky over him.
For some reason, that clear blue sky today felt different... much alive.
A cold breeze of wind passed by him, ruffling his hair.
'This... feels so... peaceful.'
After 3 years... this was probably the first time he had actually been out. He doesn't even miss his computer or his phone.
Only now did he realise what it actually meant to go and touch some grass.
He stayed there for a few minutes, just gazing at the sky.
Then closing his eyes, he raised his body up.
'I need to shower.'
He was drenched in sweat after all that training.
But rather than going to the palace to take a shower, he decided to go somewhere else.
'I remember there is a pond near here.'
It was located at the centre of the forest, and is most of the time unused.
There was no animal here to begin with. This forest only existed here for decoration.
He walked further, heading to the deeper parts of the forest and soon reached the location of the pond.
It was a star-shaped pond, not accurately, but it gave the feeling of being a star.
Filled with fresh water, it looked so clean that the bottom of the pond was visible to the naked eye.
'Taking a bath in so open... I wonder if I will encounter a jade beauty here.'
He tried to pull a joke, but no one was there to laugh at it.
He simply touched his clothes, and it returned to the dark orb as before.
Even the suit he had before was gone. His system store, leaving him completely naked.
'Well, that's efficient.'
That part was easy and time-saving, but when he looked at his body and the odour coming from him.
Yeah. He really needed the bath.
Taking a step forward, he soaked both his feet in the pond.
But before he could go further, he stopped.
A chill ran down his spine, leaving him unable to move.
'What's this?'
He could sense the presence of someone behind him, someone so powerful that he couldn't win against.
Even when he faced Drever and Eleanor, he never had this feeling.
Which only meant one thing: this person was someone far more powerful than they were.
'Who?' He asked, trying to figure out the person behind him.
He could have used his system to see the information about this character, but for that, he needed to look at that person.
But currently, he was faced with an intent so powerful, he couldn't even move from his place.
In this world, there aren't many people who should have this kind of strength, there were only a handful of them.
Thinking for a second, he soon figured out who this person could be.
'So she had come.'
There could be only one person who fits the conditions in his head.
He moved his fingers, covering himself in a thick layer of mana to protect himself from such a terrifying spiritual pressure.
But he did not reveal his cultivation.
"I greet the esteemed Sword Saint, Miss Aurora."
The only person who should be here right now, was none other than the master of his dear sister.
The sword saint of this world and probably the strongest being on this planet right now.
"Oh, how did you figure out, child of Drever?"
A cold yet sweet voice reached his ears. As pleasing as it was, he could feel just how powerful she is.
'Child of drever? Who even calls one like that? And what is with this spiritual attack? She isn't even trying to hide it.'
If not for using his mana, he might have suffered injuries from just her words alone.
She is someone at that stage where she doesn't even need to use her mana to kill someone.
Just that powerful a character she is.
