"REVENGE! VICTORY! FREEDOM!" The kneeling crowd repeated over and over again.
Rion's gaze shifted towards the stage, and he walked over to it.
Just as he stepped on the stage, he announced, "Let the feast begin."
As those words left his lips, the kneeling crowd rose and sat up.
Valak, Varok, and Marin looked at him with curious gazes, but none of them asked how he was able to walk on air.
Rion didn't speak of it either.
A few moments later, Lara and the other women walked towards the site with warriors shouldering the huge wooden trays.
On the trays were the prepared meat, and as they neared, the aroma of it spread throughout the site.
Lara looked at Rion with a smile before she began to command others.
The meals were served on plates made from dried redwood leaves. Each meal was packed with flavour and love.
The tribe members ate together, eyes sparkling from the explosion of flavours.
Seeing that, Rion smirked and turned towards the three people standing behind him.
"What's wrong?" He asked with a tilted head.
Varok didn't say anything, and Valak replied with a shake of his head, "Nothing."
Rion furrowed his brows and mumbled, "Alright," he stepped down the stage and walked towards his chair.
The group leaders watched him take a seat.
"How did you do that?" Haria, Morvak and Naqir asked in unison, and Rion replied with a faint smile, "I just did."
"What do you mean you just did?" Morvak asked further while the other two turned silent.
Rion shrugged, pointed at himself and said, "It's something to do with my bloodline, I believe."
Morvak's sparkling eyes lost their lustre; he looked away and scoffed, "Hmph! That is a stupid ability."
Rion chuckled and closed his eyes for a few moments.
'What was that?' He mumbled in his head.
'For a moment I felt as if I could do anything... but at the same time I felt my limitations, it was as if the ability was showing me both its nature and that I am not yet worthy to wield the whole of it,' he concluded while remembering the sense of omnipotence he had while walking in the air.
He rubbed his face and remarked inwardly, 'The Remnant seems to know this ability as well as that it was related to The Monarch.'
"No point thinking of it any longer," he said to himself and took a deep breath.
The aroma that was drifting throughout the site hit him, and his stomach growled loudly.
All of the group leaders turned their heads towards him, and Kara asked while looking around with a confused look, "What was that?"
Rion looked at him with a calm expression. "What are you talking about?"
Kara frowned and asked the others, "You guys didn't hear that?"
Rion and the ones at the far shook their heads while the others stared at each other with confused expressions.
"I am sure that I heard something," Kara mumbled under his breath, and Rion said, "Your ears must be ringing."
"I heard it as well... it was like a kareth's cry..." said Naqir.
A vein throbbed at Rion's forehead, and he scoffed, "Yeah? Then why did none of us hear it?"
Naqir looked at him with a tilted head and said while scratching his cheek, "But..."
Right then, Lara and the others reached them and began to serve the meal to them.
Lara handed the dried leaves plate to Rion and addressed him with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "Here, high commander."
Rion flashed her a beautiful smile, took the plate and said, "Thank you, Lady Sovereign."
Lara chuckled, pulled Rion's cheek and said, "Don't think too much. Just eat."
He nodded slightly and began to eat.
This tender meat broke apart just as he touched it, and an explosion of euphoric, juicy flavours pushed him into a daze for a few moments.
The others were the same.
Bum-bum... Bum-bum... Bum-bum...
The drums continued as they ate, and more meals were served.
At the end of the feast, Rion was pleasantly surprised by Lara as she had prepared his favourite sweet bread for everyone.
As they finished, everyone praised Rion's group members, Lara and her friends for preparing such fantastical meals. The main topics of praise were the meal prepared from the meat of the pale deer and the sweet bread.
One by one, the tribe members stood up, picked up some food for either the elders or the kids and made way to their home after bowing to Varok, Valak, Marin and Rion.
Rion had also finished eating and was having a chat with his group members.
Their soft laughter reached the nearby tribe members, but none of them were irritated by it; they joined them and told a few jokes of their own.
Seeing Rion laugh freely, Lara smiled, pulled one of her friends and said while pointing at a figure sitting by Rion, "Tell that girl to come meet me."
Her friend nodded and did what she was told to.
She walked over to Rion's group, inched closer to a person and mumbled in their ear, "Sovereign's wife is calling you."
Dora looked at her with a surprised expression, gave her a nod and stood up.
Seeing Dora stand up, Rion frowned and said, while he unknowingly grabbed her hand, "Where are you going?"
The others wanted them with smirks and amused expressions, but Rion ignored them.
Dora smiled and answered, "Going to meet mom."
Lara's friend looked at her with an impressed gaze and mumbled under her breath, "Bold, huh..."
"Oh... Alright," he muttered, and Dora stared at him with an amused smirk.
She slightly lowered herself and whispered in his ear, "Let go of my hand, dummy."
"Hmm?" Confused, Rion turned his head to the side and saw that his hand was holding hers.
"Hahaha..." he forced a laugh and added, "I was joking around."
"I know," she responded in a tone that didn't sound convinced at all.
The others chuckled, and Dora waved at him before walking away with Lara's friend.
He watched her leave and said under his breath, "Should I be happy or worried about their meeting...?"
