Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start

Chapter 166: Dhaevrak VS The Remnant [2]

The chants echoed throughout the area, and Rion's spear flew back at him.

He caught the spear, shifted his gaze towards the next six-lined monster and just like before, he flung the spear at it.

The spear flew towards the dark monster as if it were unstoppable, just as it was about to claim the monster.

The monster grabbed the ground and slid to the side using its tentacles. Seeing that it had slipped from the spear's path, everyone frowned, but Rion had a wide grin on his face.

Heaven's Vector activated itself, and the spear followed behind the monster.

It slipped past the spear a handful of times, but the spear was simply impossible to dodge, and just a few moments later, the spear plunged through its core.

Everyone burst into cheers, and like before, the spear returned to Rion.

He threw at the next six-lined, but this time he failed to reap the monster, as unlike the previous one, it didn't try to dodge; it threw the weaker monsters at the spear, causing it to lose all of its momentum.

The spear fell on the ground, and he called it back with the Master's Call.

"They are adapting to their bodies and our attacks..." he concluded upon seeing that the monsters that weren't even able to walk straight were now fighting toe to toe with the warriors of Dhaevrak.

He furrowed his brows and mumbled, "The kareths never did this..."

"Is it because these are more advanced?" He wondered.

Shaking his head, he forced his aura into his feet and leapt forward.

A loud bang echoed throughout the battlefield as the aura beneath him exploded, and he was thrown up into the sky.

All of the warriors looked at the miniature golden sun in the sky and yelled in disbelief, "What the fuck...?!!"

He grinned widely, golden flames danced around him as he descended towards the horde of monsters like a meteor.

As he neared the monsters, the dark swamp was brightened by the glow of his aura; the monsters looked up just in time to see what killed them.

The mountains shook as Rion landed onto the ground, and with it came the flood of golden flames.

The bodies of the nearby monsters were torn apart into pieces so small that they seemingly vanished from the area, and screens began to bombard Rion's vision as he collected their cores.

He ignored the screens, threw his spear at a two-lined and lifted his hand towards a one-lined.

The spear pierced through the core of the two-lined, and he pulled the one-lined towards himself using aura telekinesis.

He threw an aura-clad punch at the incoming one-lined monster, and it exploded into bits, its core was flung into the air, and Rion stored it into his inventory with stars twinkling in his eyes.

'I need to collect these cores, they might be the key to unlocking the secret of these monsters' undeath,' he remarked inwardly, called back the spear and repeated what he had just done.

All of the warriors — squad members, squad leaders, group leaders, Marin, Valak and even Varok stopped. They just watched Rion and his spear rumble through the horde of countless monsters like a ghostly phantom and a greedy serpent.

Sovra's grip tightened around his spear. He lifted it high and shouted, "Follow the High Commander!!"

Flames of newfound determination blazed in the eyes of the warriors. Their auras painted the red and black domains into various other colours, and they pushed forward with the strength they never believed they had.

However, that wasn't all. Suddenly, their aura became stronger because of Haden's domain — Varzath.

Rion also felt the change and mumbled while battling through the horde of monsters that had blade and mace-like hands, "What's going on?"

Just as those words left his lips, Varok's bestial voice rang in his head.

<This is Haden's domain, Varzath — strength in unity. The more united the army, the stronger we become.>

"Oh?" An awed glint passed through Rion's eyes, and he continued his restless attacks.

Far west from the battlefield, Haden and The Remnant clashed with one another.

Each of their attacks sent waves through the ground that were blocked by Haden's aura dome.

The Remnant sensed the slight change in Haden's aura and said, "It seems thy son has won their hearts."

"It is just a reasonable development," Haden replied while swinging his spear in a wide arc.

A red aura serpent shot towards The Remnant.

He swung his katana at the serpent, chopped it into two and swung at Haden with chains of purple flames following behind the dark crescents of pure demonic energy.

The crescent of pure demonic energy cut through Haden's aura like a knife cutting through butter, leaving Haden no option but to dodge them.

Haden used instant steps to dodge the crescents and ambushed The Remnant with the strikes of his spear whenever it was possible.

The Remnant, who had his Zone active, was able to read all of Haden's attack. He easily blocked them and threw counters at him.

Haden also blocked his attacks and attacked back, making sure not to give him the time to charge a destructive attack.

In the fight of beings at their level, these small exchanges weren't to end the battle but to prolong it, and that was what Haden wanted, as he could sense that The Remnant couldn't use his current body for much longer.

The Remnant could also understand what Haden was trying to achieve, so he decided to throw a bait that a being like Haden would always bite.

"Dost thou wish to transcend the limits set upon thy mortal self?"
