Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start

Chapter 170: Dhaevrak VS The Remnant [6]

Rion flickered the Predator's Eyes and kept his gaze locked at the cores of the monsters as he swept through them like a natural disaster.

Far behind, the warriors were already feeling overwhelmed.

The humanoid monsters were much stronger and different from the kareths they had fought till now.

They were bigger, more human-like and adaptive than their predecessors; however, the warriors were still the same. They had experience, but it wasn't very helpful. The only reason they were able to stand for so long was the year-long training that they had gone through.

One of the warriors swung his large axe at a one-lined monster, but his hands were numb from continuous swings, and unfortunately, his grip faltered.

The axe dug into the monster's side and got stuck in it. The gash healed instantly, trapping the axe in it.

The warrior's eyes widened in horror, and the monsters threw a kick at his chest. He groaned and fell on his back. He desperately tried to crawl away from the monster, but before he could, the monster bit his head off.

Blood sprayed like a fountain, and an arrow covered in an aura pierced the monster right through its core.

The warrior's half-eaten head rolled out of the monster's maw before it burst into dark dust.

One more squad member fell right after then another.

More and more squad members began to fall, and Marin shouted while enhancing his voice with an aura, "CHANGE!!"

Zoka and Sovra poured out their aura and began to attack the monsters like madmen. The squad leaders shielded the squad members and stepped back.

A rumbling war cry resounded from the Redwood Den as the group of Drokan and Kara sat foot in the battlefield.

Drokan and Kara's group began to push the monsters back while the members of Zoka and Sovra's group retreated.

Sovra and Zoka nodded at the two of them and left the battlefield in their hands.

Both of them stepped forward with wide grins and swung their weapons.

Large aura crescents shot out of their battle axe and swords. The one-lined and two-lined humanoid monsters that were only adapted to Zoka's heavy swings and Sovra's precise thrusts were cut in two by the aura crescents.

Further inside the horde, Rion danced between multiple four-lined monsters to glean the method to break the soul connection of the monster's core with the flame.

He could achieve this by breaking the core itself — however, in that way, he wouldn't be freeing the souls trapped inside the flame, he would be blocking their control.

Unbeknownst to him, he was controlling Predator's Eyes so precisely that his mastery over it was becoming stronger and stronger with each passing moment.

However, he was too focused on the core to see that he was now able to identify the weak points of non-living.

He wasn't attacking the monsters anymore. Instead, he was dodging their attacks like they were some kind of disease just because he didn't want to waste his time in rewardless fights.

As he was doing so, he learned a few new things.

'The cores are moving the demonic energy to move the monster.'

'The cores are red because the demonic energy isn't inside the core, but the crystal at the heart of it. When I pull them out, the demonic energy inside the core pours out and causes the core to turn dark.'

He shifted his head to the side to dodge an incoming tentacle that was so fast that it wasn't even visible.

A mace-handed monster swung at him from behind. He gripped its hand and stopped it at the spot like a vice before ripping them apart in a single pull.

"Hmm... what else is there for me to find out about these?" He questioned himself with a thoughtful expression. Aura gathered at his left hand, and he punched at the heart of a blade-handed monster whose blades were just a few inches away from reaching his face.

A sigh escaped him, his eyes shifted towards the five-lined just a few layers away from him, and he muttered, "On the next ones."

Aura flooded out of him. Blue sparks swirled around his hand, and the lunging serpent spear that he had stored in his inventory appeared in his hand.

The monsters that lacked any survival instinct sensed the danger and turned around to run away from the demon that was toying with them.

Rion clicked his tongue and spun his spear into a full circle. A gradually widening circle shot out, and before the monsters could run away, a line intersecting through the core appeared on their body, and they burst apart into dust.

Rion took a few leisurely steps, and a heavy amount of aura flooded outwards of him.

The world around him turned heavy, the nearby monsters froze in place, and for the first time, all of his aura began to converge at the tip of his spear.

He took a deep breath and thrust forward.

AZURE ASCENDING SPEAR — RION SPECIAL — SERPENT'S ENDLESS GREED!

The Remnant's domain shook, and the dark, sickening water turned into vapour as his aura took shape.

The monsters that were stepping forward to reach the frontline suddenly stopped in their tracks and turned around.

The warriors also stopped and mumbled with their eyes so wide that they could fall out of their sockets, "What the hell is that thing?!"

At the further end of the battlefield was a monstrous golden aura serpent that was ravaging through the layers of monsters as if no matter how much it ate its hunger couldn't be fulfilled.

All of the warriors felt their hearts tremble at the image of the serpent, and their morale, which was wavering, became firm once again.

"Glory to the Gods!!!"

The aura serpent slithered through the layers of the four-lined monsters, and the five-lined stood frozen in their place.

The dust settled down, Rion stepped forward with wide arms and mumbled with a bright smile, "Don't be shy, my friends, let me see your souls."
