Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start

Chapter 90: Golden Meteor

The kareths continued to pour out of the purple fog forest without an end, and the warriors of the Dhaevrak tribe continued to fight them.

Their eyelids fluttered heavily, and their muscles groaned under the continuous labour, but none of them stopped. They continued to shoot the arrows and hurl the spears at them, while those with quick feet quickly picked them back up.

Suddenly, Rion's words rang within Yuura's head, who was sitting at the far end of the defensive lines.

<It's time.>

Right then, a thunderous roar shook the ground.

Everyone's heart shuddered in terror as the dreadful roar shook them to their very cores, and those with wills weaker than others fell unconscious with foam spilling from their mouths, while the others barely managed to keep themselves standing.

Yuura bit his lower lip to bleed and nudged Kahrun and Tarun, who were sitting beside him.

Both of them came out of their revere and clutched onto their weapons as he mumbled, "Let's go."

They nodded and stood up from their seats, and their eyes shifted towards the kareth that were spilling out of the purple fog forest.

Tarun's hand trembled in fury, and crimson aura flames appeared around his arm and mace.

Kahrun placed a hand on his shoulder and said as blue aura flames danced around him like a vest, "I'll have your back."

Tarun grinned widely and nodded his head before all three of them shot towards the front of the defensive lines.

Rion stood at the edge of the cliff with his arms folded across his chest and watched Tarun, Kahrun and Yuura prowl through the horde of hornless and one-horned kareth as if they were nothing but toys.

His lips arched up in a smile, and he mumbled, "They are doing better than I thought."

But his smile disappeared right after as his eyes shifted towards the deep purple fog forest, and he mumbled, "That roar alone was just as strong as twice that of a three-horned... what the hell was that?"

His eyes stayed there for a few moments before they shifted towards the approaching wave of two-horned kareth that also had a few three-horned.

He turned his head to look at Dora, who had beads of sweet glistening across her forehead and a deep frown etched on her face due to the fatigue from her constant use of aura.

His eyebrows creased in worry, and he suggested, "Take some rest."

Dora shook her head and mumbled weakly, "Not yet..."

He frowned and muttered, "I am going; there's no need for you to continue."

She shot him an annoyed glare and said in a voice heavy with fatigue, "Shut up... I'll take rest when I want to."

He heaved a defeated sigh and gave her a reluctant nod before he picked up his spear and jumped down the cliff.

"RION?!" She shouted.

Her eyes widened in disbelief, and her heart hung out of her chest. She stepped closer to the edge and looked for him; however, he had already disappeared from there.

A thin layer of aura covered Rion's feet as he dashed through the forest and made his way towards the three-horned kareths within the horde.

'I can't waste my aura...'

His eyes turned red, and he scanned the whole of the wave.

Normally, finding the core of a kareth was easier for those with keen eyes like Dora because of the disparity in light and the flow of the purple miasma around them.

However, he didn't need those keen eyes because his Predator's Eyes were more than enough — far superior, in fact.

A few moments later, he stopped beside a dead tree and watched the situation of the defensive lines and the wave.

"They can take care of the two-horned with the help of the awakened squad members and squad leaders... and only I, Kuro, Haria and Balthar can take care of three-horned kareths..."

His eyes shifted towards the deeper forest, and he mumbled, "But she won't move because of the four-horned and the kareth lord."

His eyes sharpened, and he stated, "I have way more aura than others, so there won't be any issue even if I join right now."

Fwoosh!

Majestic golden aura flames blazed around his body. Deep cracks appeared beneath him as he jumped with a wide grin across his face.

"Golden Meteor!"

BOOM!

The sound of an explosion rang throughout the campsite, and everyone turned their heads towards the sound.

"What is that?" One of the squad members questioned while pointing at the golden flame that was falling towards the horde of the kareths.

"Is that a bird?" Said a squad member who had the tribal tattoo that looked similar to a three-lined scar.

"That's a person!" A bowman shouted with disbelief painted across his face.

The scar-like tattoo person frowned and mumbled, "What are you talking about—"

"Look!" Another shouted as the golden flame neared the ground.

Rion descended towards the horde like a burning meteor, and the tip of his spear was pointed towards the strongest three-horned kareth.

The kareth sensed the danger, and a few of them turned towards him, but they were too late.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM—!

Dust rose, and golden flames exploded out of him like a hungry wildfire. All of the kareths were disintegrated into nothing but ashes; the only thing remaining of them was their cores, which suddenly disappeared from their spots.

A large crater with large serpentine fissures slithering out of it appeared at his landing, and the nearby trees were uprooted from their century-old grips.

Everyone's heart pounded against their chest in excitement as they stared at the otherworldly scene before them with wide eyes and waited for the dust to settle with bated breath.

A few moments later, the dust settled down, and their tightened yet curious eyes fell on a back that had a golden mark of wings that were unfurling themselves.

"Rion?" One of them mumbled in disbelief, and as if fuel had caught fire, everyone began to talk about him.

"That's Rion?"

"How is that possible?"

"Isn't he too strong?"
