Five pillars surrounded them, all reaching straight into the sky.
Eliex looked around and frowned. He said, "Lord, these pillars are called The Aether Spire. It's a rare material used to make Artifact gear."
Make Artifact gear?
George's eyes lit up. He asked, "Is there a way to take them?"
"It's easy. Just break them," Eliex said, then hesitated. "But these five pillars are arranged in a pattern. They form a strong formation. It seems to be holding back a strong being."
"Is it the Blazing Angel?" Elise asked, confused.
George had already told the others about sensing the presence of the Blazing Angel. They were all curious about what the legendary god, the Blazing Angel, actually was.
George checked again and said, "No, it's not the Blazing Angel. Her presence is much deeper."
"Who cares? Just break these pillars and find out what's inside," Constantine said, lifting his War Hammer and moving toward the pillars.
"Wait," George quickly stopped him. He looked at Eliex and asked, "Is the monster sealed here very strong?"
The Aether Spire was rare and powerful. A monster strong enough to be sealed with five of them was definitely not normal. George didn't want to take any chances.
Eliex looked at the tall pillars reaching the sky and frowned, thinking for a long time before speaking. "This being was strong when it was sealed. It should have been at least level 80. But after so long, the seal has weakened a lot. It can't break free. So it's probably not too strong. We can handle it."
"That's good," George said, feeling a bit better. He looked at Constantine, who was eager to fight, and said, "Let's go."
"Okay!"
Constantine excitedly responded, swung his War Hammer, and hit the pillar hard.
A big boom. The ground shook. The pillar shook violently but didn't fall.
"Stronger than I thought," Constantine stepped back, his expression more serious. His arms tightened, and his muscles bulged slightly.
"Break it!" He roared, jumped into the air, and hit the pillar with all his strength.
A strong energy wave exploded. A crack appeared on the ground, then spread quickly.
From the crack, strong winds blew out, and black mist poured out. A powerful energy filled the air.
The big pillar finally broke, falling to the ground in pieces. The remaining part was a smooth, white, crystal-like stick.
The Aether Spire: SSS tier material, extremely rare. It contains powerful energy. It can be used to set up formations or smelt and forge weapons and gear.
It was only an SSS tier material, and George was a little disappointed.
But since Eliex said it could be used to make Artifact gear, he didn't doubt it.
"This is so heavy," George bent down to pick up the Aether Spire, but struggled to lift it.
The pillar was only as thick as an arm and three meters long, but it felt like thousands of pounds.
He took a deep breath and used all his strength to lift it.
Constantine came closer and asked, "Lord, is this stick really that heavy? It could be a weapon, but it's too small."
George just put it into his pack and sighed. "Eliex might be able to make something suitable for you."
"Really?" Constantine's eyes lit up. He smiled widely and looked at Eliex, asking curiously, "Old man, can you really turn this stick into a weapon that fits me?"
Eliex snorted and ignored him. He was still upset about losing the fight earlier.
"Come on, old man, don't be so stingy. I'll even let you be the leader." Constantine kept bugging him.
George didn't pay attention to the two. He looked down at the cracked ground, which had formed a huge abyss. The wind was howling, and black mist was swirling around.
"What is this place? Can we go in?" He could feel that this was a separate space.
Eliex quickly said, "Lord, we can't go in. The seal hasn't been fully broken. If we enter and can't break the seal, we'll be trapped forever. And our strength will keep being drained."
George took a step back in fear and said, "Then let's destroy the other four pillars."
"Lord, let me do it. If I destroy the rest, will you let this old man make me a weapon?" Constantine asked.
The temptation of Artifact gear was too strong. His current Sacred Dragon Gauntlet was only Legendary gear, but it had already boosted his power by at least 20%. If he had Artifact gear, the increase would be even bigger.
"Okay. If there's extra material, I'll let him make you one." George nodded.
He knew making Artifact gear wasn't easy. These pillars alone might not be enough. More materials would be needed.
"Lord, just leave it to me," Constantine said excitedly and flew toward another pillar in the distance.
George and the others followed quickly.
Soon, they reached the second pillar. Constantine raised his War Hammer and struck it hard.
Again, two hits. The pillar collapsed and broke into pieces. A smooth, white, crystal-like stick was revealed.
The ground split open, creating a deep crack. Black mist poured out, and strong winds howled. It seemed something terrifying was locked inside.
George was on high alert. He backed away quickly with Elise and the others guarding him.
The crack was a sealed space. The seal was still strong. If they fell in, they wouldn't escape. And their strength would keep being drained.
George looked down at the black mist-covered crack, wondering what kind of monster was locked inside.
"Continue," he said, putting the white stick into his pack and speaking coldly.
Constantine nodded and moved to the third pillar.
Same as before - the third pillar was destroyed, and another white, crystal-like stick fell out.
But this time, the ground cracks spread. The area in the middle collapsed completely. Endless black mist poured out. Along with it, the sounds of monster roars filled the air.
"It's a monster sealed underground. Not just one, but a group," Elise said. She could tell the sounds were coming from below. The black mist wasn't strange, so she concluded the monsters were still sealed.
Three pillars had been destroyed in a row. The seal had weakened a lot. The ground had collapsed, and a part of the sealed area was exposed. The monsters inside had seen the chance for freedom.
George frowned. He couldn't see what was below, but from the sounds, there were a lot of monsters.
"Elise, do you know what kind of monsters are in there?" he asked curiously.
At first, George thought there might not be many monsters, or they were enemies of the demon race. But now, it was clear - these monsters were definitely not friendly.
Elise stepped forward and tried to look into the crack, but it didn't help.
The black mist was similar to the Night Elf's domain. It blocked darkness and was hard to scan with Intellect.
She shook her head and said, "Lord, I can feel there are a few strong presences inside, but I can't tell what race they are."
"It's the Felborn," Eliex said from the side, his voice serious.
"The Felborn?" George asked, confused. "Aren't the Felborn and the demon race the same race?"
Eliex shook his head. "These two races are often mixed up, but they aren't the same. The Felborn and the demon race used to work together. They brought disaster to many countries, even destroying other worlds. But for some reason, they split up later. The Felborn were betrayed by the demon race and then sealed..."
Eliex didn't know much about this either.
George looked down at the dark mist-filled space and asked in surprise, "So this is where the Felborn is sealed?"
"No," Eliex denied. "Even the Felborn is just a small branch. This seal isn't strong enough to hold the whole Felborn. And there are some among them who are just as strong as gods. This seal can't hold a god."
"Lord, should we keep going?" Constantine asked.
He didn't care about the Felborn or the demon race. He just wanted to destroy these pillars quickly. They were all materials for making Artifact gear.
George hesitated, then said, "Go on."
The Felborn might not be nice, but they had a deeper grudge with the demon race.
Releasing whatever was in there would definitely cause trouble for the demon race.
"Okay," Constantine said, excited. He flew quickly to another pillar and swung his War Hammer hard.
Boom!
The pillar collapsed and broke. The ground collapsed a lot, spreading all the way to the last pillar.
George and the others quickly flew up into the air. They looked down at the rising black mist. This area seemed even stronger than they had expected.
At this point, only the last pillar remained on a piece of land. But the ground was already full of cracks. The pillar was shaking slightly, as if it might fall at any moment.
And from the black mist, angry roars and the sound of chains clashing kept coming.
Zing!
Suddenly, a golden light flashed. The Golden Flame Dragon appeared from George's chest. He stared at the black mist below and said coldly, "Master, I felt the presence of the Black Dragon Asos."
"What?" George was shocked. He asked in doubt, "You mean the Black Dragon Asos is also sealed? He's the final boss of the Underworld, isn't he?"
"It's not wrong. I can sense its presence clearly," the Golden Flame Dragon said, staring hard at the mist below.
The last pillar was shaking again. It didn't look like it would last much longer without Constantine's help.
Below, a deep voice echoed, "Yes, it's me. I didn't expect you guys to find this place..."
