Ares still wore his gray robe, relaxed and leaning on the sofa.
In George's mind, a War God should be either lofty or extraordinary, but this old man just felt like a normal old man.
Ares glanced at him and said calmly, "Kid, no need to be so formal. Just call me Ares."
"Okay, Mr. Ares. What's up?" George didn't dare to call him by his name directly.
This old man might look normal, but he was clearly a War God.
Ares didn't care. He said, "You know about the Bloodmist. I want you to draw out the monsters inside it."
George wasn't surprised. "What kind of monster is in the Bloodmist?"
"Something like a tree spirit. I haven't gone in to check. My men said they saw Bloodvines attacking. The exact type isn't recorded." Ares didn't hide the truth.
Bloodvines? Not even the Sovereign City had any record of them. That meant it was a new kind of monster.
George hesitated for a moment, then said, "I'm willing to draw them out, but if the level is over 60, I might not be able to handle it."
Constantine and the others had gotten stronger. They could take on 60-level SSS-tier bosses, but if it was higher, there would still be danger.
Ares said, "Don't worry about that. I'll personally make sure you're safe."
George was surprised. A War God protecting him? That had to be safe.
He nodded. "Then there's no problem. When do we go?"
"Now." Ares stood up.
"So fast?" George was surprised. He wanted to prepare a little first.
Ares explained, "The Bloodmist appeared suddenly. It's seriously affecting the Sovereign City. The faster we fix it, the better."
"George, I'm coming with you too," Lily said, standing up.
"No. With Ares, the God of War protecting you, you won't get hurt. Go check the villa we got. If it's okay, move our things there." George knew this trip was dangerous. He didn't want Lily to take the risk.
"Okay, then be careful." Lily nodded obediently.
George and Ares left immediately, heading straight out of the city.
The city had been sealed off for days, but with Ares leading, the soldiers wouldn't stop them.
At the city gate, the adventurers had already left. The ground still had faint bloodstains, showing that there had been an infection incident last night.
George didn't care about that. He followed Ares into the deep forest outside the city.
The morning sun had just risen, and the forest was filled with a strange, red light. It was eerie and dark.
George felt a slight pain in his forehead and frowned slightly.
"Hey, do you feel something?" Ares noticed his change and asked curiously.
George nodded, and he looked around carefully, but nothing strange was happening yet.
As they kept moving, the burning pain in his forehead became stronger.
George finally saw the Bloodmist.
In front of them, the mist was moving, and it was a strange blood-red color. A lot of armed soldiers were stationed there.
"Sir," the leading soldier saw Ares and ran over quickly, bowing respectfully. "The Bloodmist is spreading faster than before."
Ares nodded. He guessed it had something to do with George's arrival.
The Bloodmist had been spreading slowly, but the speed wasn't fast before.
"Tell everyone to prepare for battle, but don't go into the mist." Ares stood in front of George and said seriously.
"Yes!" The soldier immediately left, and the others started to watch the mist carefully, slowly retreating.
George looked at the moving Bloodmist, but didn't feel any monster presence. But the pain in his forehead grew stronger.
"Mr. Ares, it's coming!" he said quietly.
As soon as he finished speaking, the mist moved, and a thick Bloodvine suddenly shot out, knocking away the soldiers in front of it and rushing toward him.
"Cut!"
Ares shouted, and a huge power burst from him. A few sharp lights flew out, cutting at the Bloodvine.
A few soft sounds, and the vine was cut in two. The broken ends flowed with red liquid, like blood. The cut parts writhed like snakes on the ground.
"Don't get close! Soldiers who are hurt must not touch the Bloodmist," Ares quickly warned the soldiers. He moved his mind, and his flying sword chopped the writhing vines into several pieces.
The vines stopped moving. George stepped forward to take a look.
These vines were as thick as a leg, red with blood, and covered with sharp spines. The cut ends were clean, and blood kept dripping out.
George saw no hint of any information, which meant these vines were not the real monster.
"Sir, the Bloodmist is spreading again, and it's moving fast!" someone panicked and said.
The Bloodmist, which had been calm before, suddenly moved violently, rushing outward quickly.
"Back!"
Ares grabbed George, took a piece of the vine, and jumped back. The soldiers didn't take chances and quickly retreated.
The Bloodmist spread nearly a hundred meters and then stopped. The group didn't move back any further. They watched the strange Bloodmist carefully, not daring to move forward.
"How's it feel?" Ares asked George.
George's demon mark still hurt, but not as much as before, which meant no monster was coming out.
He said, "Ares, it seems this thing doesn't want to leave the Bloodmist. We probably have to go in to attract it."
"No way. That's too dangerous. I can't promise your safety if you go in," Ares said seriously.
He wanted to go in himself, but he couldn't let George take the risk.
"It's okay. These Bloodvines can't hurt me. Just kill the main one," George said.
He had already figured out the power of the Bloodvine. Constantine and the others could handle it.
He thought for a moment and then summoned Constantine and the others.
A few huge creatures appeared, and the soldiers nearby were shocked. Even Ares summoned his flying sword.
George was also surprised. A huge golden dragon was floating above them, much bigger than Constantine.
This was the advanced Golden Flame Dragon. He had never seen the real thing before.
"Lord, this old man is strong!"
Constantine noticed Ares right away and stepped forward, standing in front of George, his expression cautious.
Elise and the others were ready to fight.
Lilia had already seen Ares, but she was still shocked.
"Don't move," George quickly stopped them. "He's on our side."
"Damn! Bloodmist!" Suddenly, someone shouted from nearby.
The group turned to look.
George asked curiously, "Eliex, do you know what this thing is?"
Eliex nodded. His ghost-like body floated in midair, and his expression was serious as he explained, "It's a Bloodvine. If a lot of monsters die in one place, their blood can create a Bloodvine. Anyone who gets hurt by it will be infected and turn into a monster."
"Is there a way to stop it?" Ares asked curiously.
The situation matched exactly what Eliex had said. He didn't doubt it.
Eliex looked at the moving mist and said calmly, "Simple. Just kill the Bloodvine. The good thing is, this Bloodmist is still new. If it lasts over a hundred years, the Bloodvine will be as strong as a god. Right now, it's only around level 60. As long as you don't get infected, it's easy to kill."
"Only level 60?" Ares sighed in relief. He was level 85 as a War God, so killing a level 60 monster was easy.
Eliex nodded and continued, "But you still have to be careful. The Bloodmist is the domain of the Bloodvine. Once we go in, our power will be seriously limited."
"Can the Crimson Crystal get rid of it?" George thought of the black mist that trapped them in the Night Elves. It blocked all light, but the Crimson Crystal could clear it.
"Probably," Eliex said, not sure.
Ares looked at the spreading Bloodmist and said, "George, are you sure you want to go in? If I kill the Bloodvine, I might not be able to protect you."
"Don't worry. With them, I'll be fine," George said, pointing to Constantine and the others. He was confident.
Ares looked at Constantine and the others. His mind was shocked.
He had heard from James that George might be the Oathweaver. That was the strongest class they had found in old, broken records.
At first, he didn't believe it. But after seeing the power of Constantine and the others, he was starting to doubt.
Maybe George really could stop the demon race invasion.
Ares looked at the Bloodmist, which was slowly spreading toward them. He took a deep breath and said, "Okay, let's go in. But you have to make sure you stay safe."
George nodded. He wasn't just relying on this one trick.
If Constantine and the others couldn't hold up, he could just hide in the Abyss or the Underworld.
He had full control over the Underworld, and could go in anytime.
He just didn't know if the Demon King, Blake, had left yet. That's why he hadn't gone in yet.
"Sir, James said you can't go into the Bloodmist," one soldier stepped forward and blocked Ares and George, saying seriously.
"Move. I know what I'm doing. You all back off. If something happens, I can't protect you," Ares said coldly, his voice strict.
The soldier sighed and had no choice but to step back. He immediately called James.
"Let's go," Ares ignored him and led George and the others into the mist first.
The Bloodmist surrounded them. Visibility dropped to less than a meter.
George quickly pulled out the Crimson Crystal.
Red light flashed. The mist was pushed back, and visibility jumped to 100 meters. But the surroundings looked even more strange and eerie.
"Here it comes!" George suddenly said. As soon as they entered the Bloodmist, he felt a hot, painful sting in his forehead.
The group immediately surrounded him, keeping him in the center.
The Bloodmist moved. A bunch of thick Bloodvines suddenly came out of the mist, covering everything, rushing toward them in a flood.
