Eve walked out of the shower, cleaning off the blood and guts that clung to her when the assassin woman exploded. She knew Jin was cruel, but she didn't expect him to attempt to kill her in such a way.
"Too bad for him, it didn't work. But he's still as ruthless as I remember. Ahh, Jin, my sweet Jin. Soon, you will be mine. I know it's taking time, but don't worry, It will all be worth it in the end. Hehehehe."
"Madam Eve?" The assistant called for her.
Eve's expression darkened, and she turned to her assistant with annoyance.
"What?"
"Jin's blood, it worked. It's far better than the hair sample we used to create the clones."
"Well, that's obvious. Combine the two samples together. That will make for a far stronger clone. And this time, use a more powerful mana stone to allow the clone to use more powerful spells."
"If you don't mind my asking, Madam, what's the point of creating clones of Jin? I know you said that it's for a greater purpose other than making him look bad, but what possibly could be the greater plan that calls for clones?"
"Come with me."
Eve headed over to the clone factory, where the many clones of Jin were being created.
"Do you know what's wrong with these clones? Can you feel it?"
The assistant used her mana to try and understand what Eve was talking about, but she couldn't.
"I'm sorry, Madam, but I don't understand."
"That's the reaction I expected you to make." Even then pulled out a hair and blood sample from Jin.
"Now, tell me, do you feel anything?"
Once more, the assistant used her mana to sense the hair and blood, and her senses were overwhelmed with the vast amount of mana that she felt from them.
It was so overwhelming that she was shielded by Eve from the onslaught of energy that could have suffocated her to death.
"W-What just...What just happened?"
"You expierenced what the clones lack, life. More specifically, life in mana. Everything has mana in the world, no matter what it is. However, there is also something called the universal constant."
"Universal constant?" The assistant asked
"That's right. It means that there can't be two versions of one thing. This is why Jin's clones don't have mana and can only use it if a mana crystal is embedded in their body."
The assistant nodded. "But what does Jin's blood and hair have to do with this?"
"Each clone isn't a perfect copy of Jin. All of them break down after coming in contact with his mana. That's why they exploded after a bit when Jin fought them. However, with his blood, the clones would be able to handle more of his mana as the blood in their bodies wasn't coded to match Jin's DNA and mana signature."
"Mana signature?"
Eve sighed. "A mana signature is basically the DNA of a person, but with mana instead of science. All beings have it. This is how we are able to sense one another and know who they are. Once these new clone batches come in contact with Jin, they will absorb the mana he attacks them with, imprinting his mana signature on them."
"Ohh, I see. And then you'll make the ultimate Jin clone to kill him!" The assistant nodded, thinking it was a great plan.
"What? No. If I wanted to kill Jin, I would just do it right now. But I can't do that, because if I do, the universal constant will erase everything that is coded to him."
"I'm not sure I'm following."
Eve chuckled. "Allow me to explain things step by step to you. The clones will collect more data from Jin and get his mana signature. Once that happens, I will create a brain. After that, the Láspi will then mature, and I will use the Láspi as a soul to inhabit a new body, one that is far more powerful than any clone we created."
While talking, Eve was walking over to a secret room she had built in her mansion, guiding her assistant through it. Once they entered, they were in a white laboratory with nothing inside.
She clapped her hands, and spotlights shone on a specific spot of the lab.
"What is that?!"
Eve smiled. "That is what I'm working toward fixing, but in order to do it, things need to go smoothly."
"T-That looks like Jin? Is it a clone?"
"Ohh no, this isn't a clone. This is the real deal, the true Jin, the one who was feared throughout the universe. This is the vessel he rejected, the vessel he destroyed. This is the Jin who worked for the Primordial Gods, his Original body, not the fake he's walking around in currently."
The assistant marveled at the sight of Jin's original body. She could feel power radiating from it even though it was a corpse. She didn't even need to use her mana to sense the sheer amount of power coming off it, and when she did try to dig deeper with her mana, she nearly killed herself by accident.
"Whoa there, don't do that. This body of Jin isn't one that a mortal such as yourself can sense. During this period of time, Jin was a nigh godly being, too powerful for someone such as yourself to comprehend."
"M-Madam. How do you know of Jin?"
"Funny story, actually. He was my friend when we grew up. He always talked about being the hero, saving the world, and whatnot. It was a fun time. He even stuck true to his word, but the bastard never took anything seriously and saw life as a game. He led our friends to their deaths, nearly destroyed the world in the process of saving it, and when I tried to stop him from causing more damage and destruction, he killed me.
I was also pregnant with our child. Ever since that day, I vowed to make him suffer the way I did, the way my world did. And after coming in contact with two angry primordial gods, the same ones Jin worked for, I knew it was my chance to get revenge."
