A lot of things happened during the time Jin decided to train while Eve worked on his original body. He needed to become as strong as he needed to be in order to defeat her, while she needed to get his body up and operational so she could accomplish her goals.
In order for everything to be operational within the six months timelimit, Eve worked hard every single day, not leaving the lab, and operated on Jin's old body.
"Madam, the laser scalpel can't pierce his skin. It's as if it were made out of an unbreakable material." Yuno's laser scalpel ran out of energy before it was able to pierce Jin's old body.
"We'll come back to that later. For now, we will upload the data we collected from Jin into his brain."
"Understood."
Yuno grabbed a metal bowl with large conduits attached to it and placed it over OG-Jin's head. Once it was fastened under his chin with straps, she pulled a lever, and electrical currents flowed through the conduits, uploading data, memories, and experiences into OG-Jin's body.
The body didn't wake up, but once it did, the memories it just gotten would be present. The reason Eve needed to do this was that memories are connected to the soul, not the brain.
Electrical activity occurs when the brain is used, thinking, moving, performing automatic body functions, as well as storing and collecting memories. However, those memories are bonded to the soul; this is why it is needed to cleanse a soul before they reincarnate.
Necromancy uses a corpse to reanimate the memory fragments of the former person, but that isn't absolute, as there would be memory gaps, and eventual memory fading, what's left of the fragments at least. Also, the reanimated corpse would be a lot weaker than it was when it was alive.
This is why Eve was taking this approach. By doing this, she would be able to have a fully functioning brain with no memory gaps and would be able to use the majority of Jin's original power since she was giving his old body new life.
The only downside is that she wouldn't be able to use his powerful spells, the ones that he could kill gods with. She was limited to what she collected, what she knew, and the natural biology of his body since Jin merged with every species he'd been during every reincarnation.
"Memories are implanted. This leaves his mana signature, the souls, and the Láspi." Yuno was checking her data to make sure nothing was missing.
"We will be adding his mana signature next. This body should be able to take it since it once held it." Eve's hands started moving around each other in a circular motion, a ball of mana appearing between her hands.
The ball compressed into a very small ball, then elongated. Once it stretched to its maximum length, it twisted, then snapped in half. Between the parallel lines of mana, smaller horizontal lines connected to the parallel lines, causing the mana to look like a ladder. And finally, the mana twisted, resembling DNA.
A mana signature wasn't DNA at all, but for people who used mana, it was extremely similar to it. It wouldn't be wrong to say that a mana signature was the dna of a person's mana. Eve simply had the mana signature resemble a double helix for symbolism, not because it was necessary.
With the mana signature in hand, she pressed it against his chest, and it seeped into his body. Once inside, the lifeless, grey corpse that was Jin's old body regained its color.
His skin, a very light tan color, regained its former look. The softness of his hand returned, the smoothness of his face reappeared, and the wrinkles from decay vanished.
"Mana signature transfer is complete," Yuno confirmed, documenting the event.
"Next is the Láspi. Yuno, are you ready? Believe it or not, this is the hardest part. Jin's body is extremely durable and was literally built to kill gods, even if he never became one."
"But I thought you said that the Láspi can defeat gods."
"They can. But that doesn't mean the gods can't fight back. Jin's body, while it might be dead, still has its own power. Plus, we added memories and a manasignature back to it, so it will fight back on instinct."
"I see. I am prepared, Madam Eve."
"Good. Since I've gotten the Láspi under my control, it will continue to bond with Jin's body under my command. The knowledge it gained while fighting Jin should be helpful as well, since it's a part of the same strand."
Opening her palm, a vial appeared, and inside it was the Láspi. It was moving around, attempting to leave the vial it was in, but it was of no use.
"Calm yourself." Eve's power dominated the Láspi, and it instantly stopped moving around.
"The syringe," Eve spoke.
"Yes." Yuno handed the frame of a syringe to Eve, and she placed the vial inside.
Injecting her mana into the syringe, Eve pressed it against Jin's body, but even with her power, the needle snapped.
"Damn. Even I can't strengthen the needle enough to pierce his skin. Oh well." She broke the vial and dumped the Láspi on Jin's body.
The creature dove into Jin's nose, mouth, and ears. It started to eat away at his body, but as Eve predicted, Jin's body fought back. Its power flared up so intensely that one stand of mana nearly destroyed the facility they were in.
"T-This is his original power?" Yuno couldn't believe that a being could have such power. It was more intense than Eve's power.
"No, this is only a fraction of his power. Even with everything we're doing, we will only be able to get around 50 to 70 percent of Jin's power activated. The rest is locked in the current Jin's mind, and that's his amazing spells." Eve explained.
"I see."
Just then, another strand of mana surged out of Jin's body, nearly wiping Yuno from existence, but Eve managed to block the attack, getting hurt in the process.
"M-Master!"
"I'm okay. Just wait."
A few moments later, the Láspi inside of Jin managed to get the body under its control, perfectly merging with it, and went dormant since there was no soul.
"Why isn't the Láspi awakened?"
"I had its main function connect with the brain of this body. Since there is no soul, there is no life, meaning no brain activity. So it's going to be asleep for a while. In the meantime, gather the souls and bring them to the forge. We'll be awaking Jin soon."
