"Took you long enough, kid," the hologram grinned. "I was starting to think you died in the Undercroft. Welcome to the real classroom."
Alvian smirked. The old man had left ghosts everywhere.
"Professor," Alvian nodded. "I have a project."
He pulled out the [Wyrm-Tooth Dagger] he had used for weeks. It was a good weapon, an Epic drop. But against what was coming, it was a toothpick.
He placed the dagger on the anvil.
Then, he placed the [Fragment of the World Shell] next to it.
Rogge's hologram whistled. "Dimensional material? You're trying to make a weapon that cuts through reality? That's… ambitious."
"I'm trying to make a weapon that kills the Syndicate," Alvian corrected.
He looked at Valeria and Seraphina.
"Guard the door. If the hammer starts swinging, the mana shockwave will attract every sensor in a ten-mile radius."
"We'll hold," Valeria said, drawing her claymore with her good arm.
Alvian turned back to the anvil.
"System," Alvian commanded. "SSS-Rank Authority. Fuse."
The air inside the Genesis Forge was heavy, pressing down on Alvian's shoulders like a physical weight. This wasn't just gravity; it was the density of history. Every Legendary weapon in the Academy's history had been born on this anvil.
Alvian stood before the massive block of star-metal, his hands hovering over the materials. The [Wyrm-Tooth Dagger], a jagged blade of obsidian glass, lay next to the [Fragment of the World Shell], a shard of void-black stone that seemed to distort the space around it.
"Start the sequence," Alvian ordered.
[System: Genesis Forge Activated.]
[Material Compatibility: 0%]
[Warning! Dimensional Shard cannot be fused with physical matter using standard methods.]
Alvian ignored the warning. Standard methods were for standard players.
He placed his hand on the anvil.
"System. Activate [Super Upgrade System]. Target: The Fusion Process itself."
[Ding!]
[Authority Invoked.]
[Forcing Compatibility…]
[Consuming Two (2) Daily Charges.]
The floating hammers slammed down.
"CLANG!"
The sound was not metallic. It was the sound of a thunderclap inside a cathedral. A shockwave of white light exploded from the anvil, blowing Alvian's hair back.
Valeria and Seraphina, guarding the door, flinched as the ground shook.
"Is he trying to blow up the island again?" Seraphina shouted over the roar.
"Let him cook!" Valeria yelled back, bracing herself against the doorframe.
On the anvil, the materials were fighting. The World Shell refused to bond with the dagger. It was rejecting the lower-grade material.
"Stubborn," Alvian muttered.
He needed a binder. Something to bridge the gap between physical matter and dimensional void.
He checked his inventory. He had the [Mutated Heart] from the Chimera, and the [Demon God's Nucleus] from Subject Zero.
The Nucleus. It contained the essence of a being that existed in both the physical and spiritual realms.
"Perfect."
Alvian tossed the Legendary [Demon God's Nucleus] onto the anvil.
"Consume it."
The hammers struck again.
"BOOM!"
The Nucleus shattered, releasing a scream of red energy. The World Shell drank the energy greedily. The void black stone began to melt, turning into a liquid that looked like the night sky.
It flowed over the Wyrm-Tooth Dagger, eating the obsidian and replacing it with something darker.
Alvian poured his own mana into the mix. The [Tear of the Infinite] in his chest spun, pumping thousands of units of mana per second into the forge.
"More," Alvian whispered. "Take it all."
The liquid metal took shape. It elongated, thinning out until it was barely visible from the side. The edge wasn't sharp; it was non-existent. It was so thin it cut the air molecules that touched it.
Rogge's hologram floated closer, watching with wide eyes. "You're stabilizing a dimensional rift into the shape of a blade. If you drop that, it'll fall straight through the floor to the planet's core."
"Then I won't drop it," Alvian said through gritted teeth.
The forging process was taking a toll. Even with his immense stats, the spiritual pressure was crushing. Sweat evaporated off his skin instantly.
"Final strike."
The hammers rose in unison. They slammed down with the force of a meteor.
"KRA-KOOM!"
A beam of violet light shot up from the anvil, punching a hole through the ceiling of the Forge chamber.
Silence returned.
On the anvil lay a dagger. It was pitch black, with a handle wrapped in what looked like frozen smoke. The blade didn't reflect light; it absorbed it.
Alvian reached out.
[System Warning: Item possesses extreme ego. Will attempt to consume user.]
Alvian grabbed the hilt.
Cold. Absolute, biting cold rushed up his arm. It tried to freeze his heart. It tried to eat his soul.
"I ate a God," Alvian whispered to the weapon. "You are just a utensil."
He flared his [Void Monarch] aura. He crushed the weapon's will with his own.
The cold receded, replaced by a hum of submission.
[Item Evolved.]
[Ding! You have created a Mythical Weapon.]

Alvian held the dagger up. It felt weightless.
"Voidpiercer," he named it.
Suddenly, the Forge's interface flickered. The holographic Rogge vanished, replaced by static.
A new message appeared on the main console. It wasn't from the System. It was a text file, encoded in the oldest language of the Founders.
[Alert: Core Destabilization Imminent.]
[Source: Internal Sabotage.]
[Location: The Deep Core.]
Alvian frowned. He sheathed the dagger.
"Seraphina! Get in here!"
Seraphina rushed in, daggers drawn. "What? Did you spawn a boss?"
