Holy Swords.
Gremory mentioned it in passing, but there are twelve Holy Swords in total. While each wielder has been revealed differently, we know someone who uses a Holy Sword.
"The Holy Sword my father wields is Ascalon. Long ago, it was the sword a hero blessed by the goddess used to cut off a Black Dragon's head. Our House of Count Aries is the legitimate heir to that hero's bloodline, and the Aries sword style is specifically designed for wielding Ascalon."
"It's a weapon that boasts outstanding power against demons and monsters, especially dragons, dragonkin, and lizardmen. The Count drew Ascalon against that orc named Brug."
"So he beat Brug with Holy Sword hacks."
If he lost to a Holy Sword that killed a dragon, there's nothing to be done about it. While Brug's biggest mistake was stupidly worrying about his weapon breaking, the real culprit was that bitch Forneus for not properly equipping me or Brug. Brug's only crime was being too nice.
"I won't deny that he won through the weapon's power. I believe the Count felt ashamed of this, which is why he spared Brug."
"Right. So that's one more reason to raid Aries territory."
Let's steal the Holy Sword Ascalon and give it to Galahad. Then use that Holy Sword to sweep away enemies. If he can truly wield a Holy Sword.
"And that's one more reason to raid Barony of Virgo too. You definitely said there's a Holy Sword somewhere in the barony, right?"
"Yes. To be completely honest."
Lily, who I'd called in to get information about the barony, maintained her composure despite being flustered by the sudden appearance of a 5-star grandson.
"Some of the slash-and-burn villagers in this area came here after hearing rumors about finding the Virgo barony's Holy Sword. There are rumors that the current Baroness lost the Holy Sword when she inherited her title."
"Does that even make sense?"
"The Baroness did prove the Holy Sword at his investiture ceremony, but there are also rumors it was a cleverly crafted fake."
"Just rumors, huh."
I can't send out a search party based on uncertain information. If that search party accidentally wandered into the Elven Forest or something, we'd have problems.
"Where did the other Holy Swords go?"
"Aside from the Holy Swords of heroes active on the frontlines between the Demon King's Army and the human alliance, I believe they've all either left the kingdom or been lost. Within the current kingdom, the only one properly using a Holy Sword is Margrave Aries, my father."
"Aren't Holy Swords basically national treasures? Why is the management so sloppy?"
"Because Holy Swords choose their masters. I understand they have their own consciousness and can select their owners. They sometimes pass away naturally, or get disappointed in their previous master and seek a new one. According to my father, Ascalon swore loyalty to Aries blood. Only those of our bloodline can wield the Holy Sword."
Eila raised her head proudly. She seemed to be bragging that she was someone who could use a Holy Sword.
"If it has its own will, can't that loyalty oath be broken? Then it's meaningless. Whatever. So theoretically, Galahad can use a Holy Sword, right?"
"That's correct."
"Then let's do this."
I decided on the battlefield where Galahad would make his mark.
"Galahad will build up his strength inside this dungeon for now. Grow by eating magic stones, gain experience running sub-dungeons. As for divine power, use it freely."
My demon-type subordinates tried to object. I raised my hand to stop them.
"If you're worried about using divine power because of being called a traitor, don't worry at all. In the end, you just need to stay in the Demon King's good graces. And even if Solomon says something about Galahad using divine power, it's fine. You're using the goddess's power to help rape the goddess. Solomon will understand that. The problem is the goddess. Guinevere."
"Yes..."
"What do you think the goddess would think about using divine power against humans?"
"I'm merely a priest and cannot presume to know a god's will, but the goddess does not take back power once she has granted it."
Clap, clap, clap.
I applauded the goddess's generosity.
"Humans can become servants of the Demon King's Army, so why can't demons become followers of the goddess? Neither the Demon King nor the goddess will complain. If they do, we'll think differently then, but there's no need to worry about what the lower ranks are babbling when they can't even fathom the will of the supreme beings."
"Master, what if they do say something?"
"Then we'll fuck them up so they can't say shit."
The policy was set. Ultimately my will would become the will of our entire legion, and Galahad using divine power was a done deal. Of course, using divine power could harm nearby allies, so we'd need to be careful about that.
"Galahad, use divine power freely as long as allies aren't hurt. Mary, guide Galahad well for now."
"Even if demons take damage from divine power, humans aren't harmed by it at all. I get what you're saying."
Just like with Arthur, training executive-level warriors for the Ras Legion was always Mary's job.
"Let me make this crystal clear. Even if Galahad can use divine power, he's my blood. Same goes for all of you. Someday if you bear my children, who knows what kind of being will be born. But don't forget this."
I lowered my voice and declared my will.
"If they carry our blood, if they're born as Ras, we won't discriminate with any prejudice. Age, species, appearance, rank, the power they use. All of it combined."
At least if I brought them into this world, I decided to take care of my own blood as much as possible.
"As long as there's Ras, we are one."
Except for Forneus.

After Rok took Mary and Galahad to the sub-dungeon, the subordinates remaining in the cavity finally started saying what they'd been holding back.
"How should I put this? He's definitely different. Demons naturally have an aversion to divine power. Right? What do you think? Daughter of the Demon King?"
"Master pursues efficiency. A 5-star Orc Paladin with divine power. Strategically and tactically, there are quite a lot of advantages, and while there are disadvantages to using divine power..."
"But that's just from a demon's perspective."
"Lune, Master is also a demon. An orc."
The women fell into confusion. Rok had absolutely none of the hostility toward divine power that demons should naturally have. All beings born from his seed were the same.
"Lancelot, don't you want to kill humans?"
"Not at all. I fought at the Ras Vegas battle because it was war, but there's no need to kill them, right? Why would I kill humans? It's so thrilling and fun to do Ras with humans."
Lancelot pulled Guinevere close in a protective stance. Every time Gremory and Shaitan saw demons caring for humans, or even demons fucking humans, they suffered a big mental shock.
"How should I say this, I've done it with all kinds of monsters, you know? But I've never done it with a human. It's really weird. Looking at it. There's no resistance to humans or divine power at all."
"It seems like they're looking at a different world. The one who sent me here must have meant for me to observe and learn from his perspective."
Gremory and Shaitan opened their eyes. Only Lune just tilted her head.
"Isn't Master just someone whose eyes roll back whenever he sees a woman, regardless of species?"
Everyone's eyes fixed on Lune at her cutting words. Lune blinked with a completely innocent voice without any malice.
"The ancient conflict between the Demon King's Army and the human alliance, demons' hatred toward humans, divine power which is the goddess's power, and everything else... None of it means anything in front of Master. Master only cares about one thing."
Lune covered her lower abdomen with both hands. Even Shaitan the succubus felt embarrassed by the blatant finger placement.
"Whether it tastes good or not."
"What the hell?"
"Indeed..."
Following Lune's dis that wasn't really a dis, the subordinates each fell into thought. Eila, who'd been quietly listening, just scratched her cheek.
'He really is different.'
Eila thought about how humans and demons could interpret the same words so differently. She understood demons and her master a little better now.
'A being obsessed with sex but endlessly caring for those he considers family.'
That was the assessment of Eila, a human unlike the elf, witch, orc, slime, and succubus.
***
"Whoa shit, divine power is fucking strong. Can't group him with monsters."
"Didn't you already know that when you said it?"
"I only saw what Luna used, didn't realize it was that powerful."
Currently, we'd already smashed through the Skeleton sub-dungeon and Slime sub-dungeon and were tackling the Andras sub-dungeon. Obviously Mary and I took down the bosses, but Galahad was freely unleashing divine power and beating down the attacking 'monsters.'
"Krahk!"
An iron sword tinged with faint silver light cut off an Andras's neck. Galahad suppressed the Andras with his sword in elegant movements without a drop of blood on his body. Skeletons, slimes, Big Slimes—all those monsters were one-shot one-kill when the divine power-infused sword grazed them.
"The skeletons got instant osteoporosis just from the divine power light. Isn't that basically anti-monster radiation?"
"That's how strong divine power normally is. Dad's the weird one for blocking it with his body."
"Maybe..."
I pointed to my belly at Galahad, who was plucking Andras feathers as instructed.
"Galahad. Wanna try stabbing me?"
"Legion Commander?"
"Dad, what?!"
Both were clearly flustered by my order encouraging insubordination. But for me, this was something I absolutely needed to confirm.
"Just checking if it makes a wound or not. It's an order. Just graze me lightly."
"As you command."
Galahad pointed his sword at my belly with a stiff face. His trembling hand and twisted eyes screamed 'I'm only doing this because it's an order' with his whole body. Mary raised her staff to stop him, but I grabbed the staff and shook my head.
"This is something we must confirm."
Poke.
Galahad's sword stabbed my belly. I let out a deep sigh.
"As expected, no good. That's enough. Stop now, ow!"
My hand reaching to remove the sword stung like a paper cut. Mary reflexively cast healing magic on my hand while glancing at my belly that only had a scratch mark.
"Aw, shit, I was hoping for liposuction..."
"What kind of belly can't even be cut by divine power?"
"How the hell would I know? Ah shit..."
Can't lose it through exercise and can't get surgery either. What a cursed body. Galahad was very flustered that his divine power didn't work on my belly.
"I'm, I'm sorry, Legion Commander. For not meeting your expectations..."
"Huh? No, it'd be funnier if you met them. Don't worry about it. Thanks to you, now I don't have to worry at all when fighting guys with divine power."
The Holy Knights that Guinevere mentioned.
As those at the forefront of the war against the Demon King's Army, they were a group highly likely to come after our legion for kidnapping a priest.
"Hehe, I'll corrupt those guys and make them your subordinates, Galahad."
"Corrupt them? By what method?"
"Ras. Mary, if there are five humans, one of them is trash. Even guys who've pledged loyalty to the goddess—there are tons who can't keep their heads straight over this."
I pointed my finger at my lower body. Mary smirked and shook her head. Though biologically a daughter, Mary didn't care at all about this level of sex jokes anymore.
"What? Planning to make Galahad fuck them all?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?"
"The Holy Knights are 90% women."
"Then obviously they're Galahad's share. Of course I'll mess with them a bit too. Really hope they come attack us."
If they come, I'll catch them all and organize them into Galahad's unit. Galahad had no interest in mine and Mary's dirty talk, already swinging his divine power-infused sword at the next Andras.
"Stronger than I thought. Now I get why the kids freaked out."
"Dad, you can't suddenly get scared of Galahad now and make him go fetch things that don't even exist. Like telling him to go find a Holy Sword or something."
"I wasn't even thinking about it, but you're giving me ideas."
Mary flinched and frantically shook her head. Still, it was touching how she cared about her nephew. Galahad had already used divine power to cut off an Andras's beak.
Despite only being level 8.
"If divine power has that much strength, we should be able to tackle that place too."
"That place, you mean... Dad?"
"Yeah."
With that silver power, we could definitely break through.
"Tomorrow evening, we're breaking into basement 1."
With that power, we could pierce through that darkness.
