Awakening: Reincarnating With the SSS-Level Infinite Evolution Talent

Chapter 72: Fightning The Blooming Witch Eclypse Beam

Karl was now facing both the [Blooming Witch] and the [Danger Wyvern] at the same time, standing alone in the shattered top chamber of the tower.

The witch had already taken well over a million damage from his opening spells, and that was while she had been actively casting a barrier to protect herself.

Because of that, Karl wasn't particularly afraid of focusing attacks on her. He knew he could hurt her badly if he got another clean opening.

The real problem wasn't the witch. It was the wyvern.

The [Danger Wyvern] stood directly in front of her, its massive body acting like a living shield. As long as it remained between them, Karl would be forced to deal with it head-on.

"You destroyed my ceiling," the witch said with an irritated groan as she glanced upward at the massive hole above them. Broken stone and dust were still slowly falling. "Oh well. As long as we can get rid of this vermin."

Fwoosh!

Before Karl could react, the witch leapt forward and climbed onto the wyvern's back with practiced ease, settling herself between its wings. From there, she raised her crimson staff and pointed it straight at Karl from above.

Only then did Karl truly get a clear look at both of his opponents together.

The [Danger Wyvern] had deep crimson scales that covered its entire body, with dark, almost black lines running across its chest, neck, and wings. Its claws were enormous and razor-sharp, scraping against the stone floor as it shifted its weight. Its wings were wide enough to nearly scrape both sides of the chamber, and its head was distinctly dragon-like, though smaller and leaner than what a true dragon would look like.

At first glance, it really did resemble a dragon.

But the differences were obvious once you looked closely. Its body structure was simpler, its magic presence thinner. It lacked the overwhelming pressure that true dragons were said to possess.

As for the witch, she sat calmly on its back, wearing a long, dark robe with thin white lines spreading across it in strange patterns. The robe fluttered slightly from the wyvern's movements. Her crimson staff glowed faintly, pulsing with magic.

"Danger Zone," the witch mumbled calmly.

Fwoosh!

The moment those words left her mouth, the entire chamber was overtaken by a deep crimson glow.

The light spread outward like a tide, coating the walls, the floor, and even the air itself. The glow concentrated around the witch and the wyvern, wrapping them both in a visible aura.

'A buff spell… and a domain,' Karl realized immediately.

His expression tightened slightly.

He couldn't leave the tower. There was no escape route, no way to reset the fight. That meant he was forced to fight them while they were empowered by whatever effect this domain provided.

And before he could fully assess it—

Fwish!

The wyvern lunged forward.

It opened its massive jaw wide, snapping toward Karl while simultaneously swinging its claws in a wide arc. The attack was fast, brutal, and relentless.

Karl twisted his body, narrowly dodging the bite. He slid backward and avoided the first claw, but the second one caught him mid-movement.

Bam!

-3,300!

The impact sent him skidding back a step, his boots scraping against the stone floor.

The damage itself wasn't that high. Compared to the [Danger Gorilla], the wyvern actually hit for less per strike.

But that didn't mean it was harmless. Karl quickly checked his barrier.

[All-Powerful Magic Barrier: 21,380/40,000]

It had already taken heavy damage earlier while he was climbing the tower and tanking the wyvern's flames from outside. Just over half remained.

'Still fine,' Karl thought. 'As long as I don't get hit by something absurdly strong.'

The witch, meanwhile, didn't move at all. She stayed seated on the wyvern's back, watching silently as Karl dodged attack after attack. Her eyes followed his movements with calm interest.

'I could make this fair by summoning Moonless,' Karl considered briefly. 'She should be fully healed by now.'

But the thought faded almost immediately.

Moonless followed his level, which meant she'd be level 43. Against a level 50 wyvern and a legendary zone boss, she wouldn't last long. She might help a little, but only if Karl devoted constant attention to protecting her.

That wasn't realistic in a fight like this.

Slash! Slash!

The wyvern continued its assault, claws slamming down over and over again. The pressure never stopped.

The moment Karl's cooldowns finished, he acted.

Blazing Meteor! Storm of Lightning! Permafrost Crystals!

Boom! Zap!

The chamber shook violently as Karl's spells detonated.

-458,800! -275,280! -40,000! -40,000!

The massive area of effect made it impossible for either the witch or the wyvern to avoid the first two spells. [Blazing Meteor] crashed down with overwhelming force, and [Storm of Lightning] filled the chamber with deafening thunder.

The witch clearly understood that. She didn't even try to dodge.

As for [Permafrost Crystals], the wyvern endured it head-on. The shards slammed into its body, cutting into its scales and drawing blood, but it survived.

A faint blue aura spread across the wyvern's form. [Slowness] had taken effect.

"Idiotic," the witch suddenly said with a grin. "None of your spells work now, do they?"

While still riding on the wyvern's back, she raised her staff and pointed it directly at Karl.

Karl's instincts screamed at him. She was about to unleash her strongest attack.

Beam of Danger!

A small crimson orb formed at the tip of her staff. It began to grow, rapidly gathering power, pulsing with violent energy.

"Oh."

Karl immediately realized he might have made a mistake.

'I feel like that thing will kill me,' he thought grimly. 'Or at least hit hard enough to stun me.'

It was clearly her strongest spell, and it required charging. That explained why she had waited until after Karl used his cooldowns. If he still had access to his AoE spells, he could have disrupted her easily.

But now, his options were limited.

There was only one spell that fit this situation: [Lunar Beam].

It was also a charging attack. Perfect. But Karl wasn't satisfied with that.

'I should make it stronger,' he grinned internally. 'I have enough for that, after all.'

[Current Evolution Points: 62.]

Without hesitation, he made his choice.

Fwish!

[Do you wish to consume 50 Evolution Points to evolve "Lunar Beam"?]

"Yes."

Ding!

[You have evolved "Lunar Beam" (Legendary) to "Eclypse Beam" (Mythical).]

[Current Evolution Points: 12.]

Karl didn't bother reading the full description right away. The crimson orb on the witch's staff was already reaching its limit.

Eclipse Beam!

He raised his staff and began charging his own attack.

As the spell formed, he stole a single second to glance at the skill description.

---

[Eclypse Beam (Mythical): Charge the beam for one second before launching it for 3 → 5 seconds toward an enemy, doing 2,000 → 5,000 damage per second. 50 → 40 (20)-seconds cooldown.]

---

'Damn.'

The increase was massive. Longer duration. Higher damage. Shorter cooldown.

Before he could think further—

BOOM!

Karl fired his beam. A black-and-white stream of energy erupted forward, much stronger than when it was in its [Lunar Beam] form.

To Karl, it felt like it didn't only hold the power of the "moon" anymore.
