SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows

Chapter 133: Shadow Void

After the talk of the abyss and Leon, Aren spent some time thinking about it, but ultimately, he pushed the thought aside and continued touring the castle along with the butler.

If Leon came back someday, then Aren would put him down for good and never look back at it. It was already his fault for not outright ending Leon back then, and he had come to learn that the people he let live, he always had to kill later on, but by then, the damage that they had caused would have increased.

So he decided that he would stop with the mercy stage, and whoever came against him, he would slaughter. He still held onto the promise that he made to himself when the trial had started, whatever he does, he'll never apologize for it.

He was already too far gone to assume he had any good humanity left.

Aren was given a pretty good room, with a large queen-size bed, and for the first time since he came here, he could see outside. A large balcony stood outside the room, showing the land which the castle stood on.

He stood on the balcony, leaning over the edge and taking in the beautiful sight that was laid before him. He saw grass fields that stretched into the beautiful sky, mountains in the distance that surrounded the castle like a wall.

Forests filled the distance, and many birds flew over them. The outside was not what he had expected, not even close. He never expected something beautiful like this, the fresh air and everything else. It almost made him forget that his life was in constant risk all the time.

"Sigh." He let out a breath and walked to the balcony chair, sitting down.

"Alright, let's get started."

He pulled up the system screen. It was time to see every single thing that he had gained from the battle against the giant.

He had leveled up multiple times and got to level thirty. He thought that would take a lot of time due to the massive soul fragments needed, but it turned out it didn't.

"I'm already at the next evolution, but I don't think doing it here is safe. The butler is good and all, but this place still belongs to Elton."

Instead of the evolution, he decided to check the next thing, the first set of special rewards that he gained after climbing multiple levels.

[Shadow Form]

[Shadow Void]

Two shadow skulls showed up. Those were his rewards, and just looking at their names already, Aren had a feeling that they were about to be his next coolest things.

[Shadow Form: Allows users to take a shadow form that allows him to become ethereal and unable to be harmed physically, and to a certain level of magical attacks. Form can be switched on and off by intent, no cooldown.]

As his eyes went over the first one, a smile formed on his face, and it wasn't a small smile because this skill just gave him the ability to become untouchable and without a single cooldown.

"I'm sure it will expend a lot of soul energy, but even then, damn, I can phase through punches and attacks.

It did say a certain level of magical attacks, which means some attacks might actually land if they are made for my specific scenario. It's not a hundred percent, but unless you have a specially curated attack, I'm safe.

Haha, this is the best skill yet." He said in excitement as he already moved to the description of the next one.

[Shadow Void: A void born from shadows. User can store anything, alive or non-living, and can create things within the void with soul energy.]

When Aren read this one, he sat up, because not only was this special, it was a different level of special.

"System, take me inside the shadow void now." He commanded and instantly vanished from where he was sitting.

When he opened his eyes again, he was floating in a dark void. There was nothing to see. The only thing there was him, but he could feel the shadows wrap around him in a lawless chaos. He could feel that everything here abided by his will.

He stretched out his hands, and immediately a chair appeared. A small portion of his soul energy was drawn into the void to make the chair come.

"Oh my God." He muttered, grabbing the chair and pulling it toward him. He sat down right there in the void.

"System, is there any rules of the void I should know?" He asked.

[Creating without foundation drains more soul energy and creates more risk of collapse.]

"Hmm, what you are trying to say is nothing should exist without meaning or logic. Like this chair, this world has no wood, no plants, no world, yet somehow has a chair, so it makes it illogical, I guess." Aren said to himself.

He leaned back into the chair. "I see," he said as a smile formed on his face.

"Then how about I try something?" He said, standing up and pushing the chair in front of him.

"This is the center of this void, and this chair, it has become the center of my void, hehe." Aren said, and immediately, he felt his soul energy getting pulled in by the chair at an astonishing rate, almost draining him completely in an instant.

"Arghhhhhhhh!" He screamed out as it became painful at a certain point, but finally it stopped, and now the chair radiated with soul energy extremely powerfully, becoming the source of power and will of the creator, Aren.

The next moment, soul energy exploded from the chair, spreading outward and stretching as far as it could, basically creating this void's first set of laws, the chaos laws of the shadow void.

Aren stared as particles of energy formed all around, creating tiny specks of light. There was finally something here.

"Arghhh," Aren groaned. His soul energy was depleted. He couldn't stay here longer. He immediately left the shadow void and returned to the chair, leaning back with his eyes closed to rest.
