SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows

Chapter 147: Royal Families

Gordon sat inside his office, going through a few files.

Knock knock.

Two heavy knocks came from the door. It sounded like whoever was there was in a rush.

Gordon looked up calmly. He placed the files down calmly, and then leaned back into his chair.

"Come in." He called out. The door immediately snapped open, and a man rushed in. He was breathing heavily, like he had just run for a few kilometers.

"Henry, what's making you run to my office like this? It better be for a good reason." Gordon said.

Henry took some more time to catch his breath and then spoke.

"The awakened, they have finished the second trial." He said.

"I know, that's a good thing, and the loss wasn't as much as the first. Is that the reason you came here so fast?" Gordon asked.

"No no," Henry waved his hands, "after the awakened left the trials, a small army from the War God City came, and they took an awakened named Aren and his group."

"What?" Gordon asked in a voice that shook the room. He rose from his chair in a way that scared Henry.

"What did you say?" He asked.

Henry was a bit confused as to why he was acting this way. He had only brought this information so that Gordon would know that people from the War God City came here.

"I said the people from War God City came here to take someone."

"The person, what's his name? That's what I want." Gordon spoke with urgency.

"It's someone named Aren, tall, black-haired dude." Henry replied.

Gordon clenched his fist tightly. He looked Henry right in the eye. "Tell me exactly what happened?" He ordered.

"They came, fifty of them, as soon as the awakened left the trials. They rode on silver tiger mounts. When they came, they took Aren and his group, giving no chance to refuse." Henry explained.

"Those goddamned rats." Gordon exploded, slamming his fist into the table.

BAM!

Henry took a step back in fear, not wanting to get in trouble by mistake.

BAM!

The door of the room was suddenly kicked open, and the case was none other than Legion. He walked in, followed by Arith.

"Get out." He said to Henry, and Henry immediately moved out of the way and left. Whatever was happening here was beyond his pay grade.

"What are you doing here?" Gordon asked.

"I'm guessing you know what happened." Legion said.

"Tch, yes." Gordon said, sitting down in his chair, elbows placed on the table and his fist under his chin.

"Why the hell would the Silver Tigers send people from the War God City to come and take Aren? It doesn't make any sense. How do they even know Aren?"

"That's what I came to ask you. I can't believe they didn't even bother going through us for something like this." Legion stated.

Arith walked to one of the office chairs. She sat down and then leaned back, placing her feet on the table. "Did you all really believe that your golden egg would remain hidden?" She asked, then looked up. "The War God City isn't just a place, it's a working system. A single strand of information is probably all they needed to build an entire case on Aren." She said casually.

Gordon frowned. "This is an issue. Allowing them to have Aren is definitely not a good thing, for whatever reason they carried him off."

"You plan to bring him back? Let's kidnap him." Arith said with a gleeful smile on her face.

"No, we can't do that." Legion said.

"The members of the Silver Tigers are at least level fifty and above, with different tools and soul weapons. Going against fifty is simply a recipe for death, even for someone like you, Arith." Gordon said.

"Oh come on, you are closing in on level one hundred soon. There is no way some level fifties make you worry." She said.

"They do make me worried. Getting stronger doesn't make me invincible. Putting myself in death's way is stupid." Gordon stated.

"What about you, bro? You've always loved a good fight." She said, looking to her brother.

"I'll have to go with Gordon on this. The Silver Tigers are definitely not ones to be messed with. And from what we heard, the leader was a lady with dark red hair." Legion said.

"Dark red hair, and from the Silver Tigers? That could only mean-"

"Yes exactly, a Blade Family member." Legion said.

"If she is a Blade Family member, it's safe to assume she is at least level eighty and above, and can fight leagues above herself.

It's not worth it for us." Gordon said.

"Still, we aren't leaving Aren there. Because of that, I'll send Arith and a few others to the War God City, and let's see how it turns out." Legion suggested.

"Yes, let's do that." Arith said, already eager for it.

"You have to be careful when you get there, Arith. Not only is the Black Dragon Sect prominent there, the Blade Family is there." Legion warned.

The Sacred Palace was the strongest body in the entire domain, at least the parts humans had touched, and it was a massive organization, yet barely anyone knew much about it.

The only thing people knew about them was that they had connections with the Ten Royal Families. Believed to be amongst the first humans to finish the trials, the top ten were given certain divinities, and these divinities made them the strongest, which then let them create their families.

And then the Ten Royal Families, along with a few other powerful bodies, joined together to create the Sacred Palace.

So now some parts of the Sacred Palace are controlled by the families, but not all family members are allowed into the palace, only a few select ones.

Anyone from the Royal Family bloodline was usually powerful, with high-tier awakenings.

"Don't worry, bro. It's not like I'll go to piss off someone from the Blade Family. I'm smarter than that." She said with a cheeky smile.

"Oh, we are going to die." Legion said and sighed.
