Elena's eyes moved down. She glanced at the wolf guard. She could tell Aren wasn't here to joke around. But before she could say or do anything, there was an explosion.
BOOOOM!
The wall behind you was blasted open, debris, dust, and smoke flying in all directions. Everyone instantly got on guard. A few panicked.
Their eyes all moved to where the explosion had come from, and through the smoke, they saw a bright orange light emerge. Instantly, Leon moved.
That very light cut through the dust like a missile, headed right for their crystal that was at the center. It was an arrow, with a tip that glowed, moving at a speed that was beyond impossible.
Leon knew that he couldn't make that run in time, so he stretched out his hands. A metal plate formed and shot forward, blocking the crystal at the last moment.
The arrow slammed into the metal.
BOOM!
An explosion followed. The air was shaken, but the crystal was safe.
From the dust, a fighter dropped down. Aren only got one good look at the person before she dashed at the crystal, dressed in full silver armor and a long sword in hand. She had silver-blonde hair and a sharp expression.
"Shit," Aren cursed before bolting in her direction as well. They were under attack. The enemy team had found them and were coming for their crystal.
"How did they get here so fast? We have barely even moved, and yet somehow they already did." Aren thought as he rushed.
The girl was already close and much faster, so she believed her attack on the crystal would land. But as she raised her sword to slash, a claw strike ripped through the air toward her, forcing her to block. She stomped the ground, turned around hard, and cut through the claw strike cleanly.
She looked up and saw Aren standing there, looking at her calmly. She stood straight, using one hand to push her hair to the side. She lifted her sword and pointed it at him.
"Y'all can just surrender already. Our group isn't something you can deal with." She spoke in a calm tone, a voice very sweet and smooth, and as if her words were a signal, from the massive hole they blasted open, the rest of them leaped down, numbering more than a hundred.
But there was a clear difference between them and Aren's group. They seemed vastly more organized, well equipped, and high level.
'Tsk, this is definitely not going to be easy. This group doesn't seem weak at all. Despite the fact that they have lesser numbers, it doesn't seem like this will be good for us.' Aren thought, but his gaze on her never wavered. Rather, he smiled at her.
"Did you really think it would be that easy to break our crystal?" He asked.
She let out a smirk. "Of course." She said, already lunging at the crystal, but Aren unleashed another claw strike and then charged forward, intercepting her fully.
The rest of her group also lunged into battle, and the war started. Aren's group were slightly disorganized for the most part, but when they had people like Elena, Leon, and Aiden, it wasn't too bad, as those three already started unleashing hell.
And as it stood, the battle wasn't one to knock out. It was pure, unbridled bloodshed instantly happening. But the moment someone was killed, their bodies vanished. No one knew exactly why, but they didn't have the time to.
The lady lunged at Aren at full speed, her sword whistling in the air as she cut down. Aren dodged to the side while parrying with his guard, and then, to her exposed abdomen, he punched as hard as he could. But she twisted her side, the punch only grazed her. She clamped her hands down and locked his own down, then she twisted her body, using her large strength to throw him a few meters away.
Immediately, she lunged for the crystal. It was evident that was her goal, but Aren wasn't letting that. He skidded to a stop and instantly summoned the lightning shadow wolf. It let out a thunderous roar of lightning that ripped through the air toward her.
She turned around at the last moment, but couldn't block. The lightning slammed into her chest and threw her back. She slammed into the ground and rolled for a few meters before coming to a stop.
She let out a deep groan as she slowly got back to her feet.
"He is a summoner? Impossible. How can he hold up against me in combat and still be a summoner? Tsk, I'll have to go all out and take him down. It seems he is one of the major threats to our victory." She thought to herself. She looked up, and Aren was standing there with a calm expression on his face while the wolf stood beside him.
She got into a stance, the sword over her head, her legs in a wide horse stance as she went low. Then, boom. She lunged, her speed drastically increasing. She became a blur.
When she was halfway there, she leaped into the air and slashed down. An invisible wind arc tore through the air toward Aren, but he could feel the terrifying ripple, so he kicked back quickly as it hit the ground and an explosion followed.
She landed and rushed again, but the lightning wolf unleashed a bolt of lightning that immediately forced her back.
"His ranged attacks are the issue here. Tsk, I'll just make it seem like I'm going for him and then go for the crystal. That's my only mission here after all." She muttered to herself.
She gripped her sword calmly, their eyes locked on each other. Aren calmly used Shadow Sense, spreading it across the camp. It could now see two hundred meters after his evolution, which was great.
When she was ready again, she charged, ferocious and fast. The lightning shadow unleashed another attack, but this time she predicted it and dodged the attack, before pushing her speed even more, covering the distance fast with an attack that was thrust right for Aren's chest.
But at the last moment, she changed directions, bolting to the crystal that was a few feet away and running right under the nose of the lightning wolf so it couldn't attack.
With nothing to block her now, she thrust her sword.
