SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows

Chapter 75: United Nations Alliance

The room was filled with the sound of game gunshots, monsters growling, and a very enthusiastic announcer shouting, "Head Shot!" All coming from the monitor that was connected to a console.

Aren looked in. There she was, sitting cross-legged on the bed in a massive hoodie and a face that didn't seem like she had seen light for days, June.

"What the hell?" Aren asked the moment he walked in. Her eyes darted to him immediately, realizing that her brother was back, a light that wasn't in her eyes a few moments ago suddenly returned.

"Bro!" She yelled, leaping from the bed. The pad in her hands was tossed aside as she lunged, but halfway through, her legs that had fallen asleep gave in, and she went crashing down, but Aren moved in an instant, covering the distance extremely fast and catching her.

She fell right into his arms, his hands wrapped around her as he made sure she was secure.

"Hehe, you caught me." She muttered and then looked up. She saw the look on his face, a mix of confusion, worry, and more.

"June, what the hell is going on?" He asked as he helped her get seated on the bed. "What are you even doing here?"

She let out a small yawn and then responded, "After you left, I got my stuff and money and continued the payment for this place. The landlord was happy to allow me." She said, "But that aside, I can't believe you are back." She said in an excited manner.

"No, let's not do that. I can tell there is more to what you need to tell me." Aren said. He got on his feet. "Get dressed, we are going out to eat something and talk."

She looked away after he said that. "Do we really have to talk?" She asked, obviously not wanting that.

"It's either that, or I'll head to the house and find out what happened from mum and dad myself." He said. She looked at him, and she could tell from the resolute look in his eyes that he was going to do it. Not wanting that, she let out a heavy sigh. "Fine." She muttered and got up.

"Good, I'll wait for you outside." Aren said and walked to the door. He got out and shut it behind him before leaning his back against the wall.

"What happened when I was away, did she get into another fight with mum and dad? No, this is bigger, I can tell from her eyes that she is exhausted. Tsk, whatever it is, I'll not allow it." He thought, clenching his fist.

June was the dearest person to him, and there was no way that he would sit by if something was happening to her. He had to do something about it.

She took roughly four minutes and then she was done, stepping outside in another hoodie and sweatpants, casual sneakers, and her hair tied in a ponytail.

"You really pull off the I ran from home look." Aren teased.

"Go away." She replied and punched his shoulder. He barely felt it, but still acted like he did. "Ouch."

She chuckled and then led the way. "Alright, let's go." She said before strutting away.

"Bro, you don't even know where we are going." Aren said as he followed behind.

"Well, considering that you came out of the trials, that means you have some money at the very least, so you can afford something expensive, like steak." She said.

"You think I'll take you to a steak house when you look like that?" He asked with a chuckle.

"Tch." She clicked her tongue.

He got them a taxi and left for a diner not too far off. They arrived, got in, and got a seat.

They both sat opposite each other. She held up the menu in her hands, going through it, while Aren casually scanned the interior of the place. It was a pretty large diner, with a counter where the food orders were taken by the waiters and then the food was placed to be carried.

The floor was made of some polished wood covered in epoxy, and the walls were normal walls painted white. The diner was filled with people, showing that it was pretty popular.

When she was ready to order, the waiter came over, a petite lady in the red and white uniform of the diner. She had a notepad and was ready to jot down.

"I'll have two large milkshakes, three burgers, no mayo, and a large fry." June chose immediately. The waitress noted it down and then looked at Aren.

"I'll have what she is having, but one of each only." He said. The waitress wrote it down. "You'll have your meal soon." She said with a smile and left.

"That's a lot of food." Aren said after the waitress left.

"Don't judge me." June said.

"You won't finish. I'll be the one to do that, that's why I didn't even bother ordering much." He said with a smile.

"Tsk, watch and see." She replied.

While they were talking, the TV in the diner was displaying some news. It was a man in a full suit, partly grey hair and sunken eyes, standing on a podium, and behind him were two flags to the side and a coat of arms at the center of the wall.

The flag was blue, showing a golden eagle at the center standing on a golden crossed sword and spear. This was the flag of the United Nations Alliance, and the man standing there was the president of it.

The United Nations Alliance was the name given to the merge of the three countries on the continent that had merged together. Astria, Rumera, Libra.

This world, as Aren already knew, was greatly similar to the one that he knew, but a lot of things were still different, and this was one of the examples.

The Awakened Organization generally ran things across the world for the most part, but the world still had its government.

Currently, Aren lived in Astria, the center country, which he would equate to modern-day America if it had been from the Earth he knew.

[Author's Note: I'll be detailing out this world as much as possible to make it alive, though 90 percent of the story happens in the domain, so the depth of world-building will not come close to that of the domain.]
