It slammed directly into Aren's chest. He was thrown back by the attack, slammed against the wall hard, and slid down. Luckily, shadow sense had picked the person up the moment they appeared, so it allowed him the much-needed time to prepare, and at the last moment, he donned his armor.

Aren got on his feet, fully covered in armor now. He looked up with a piercing gaze, right at the person that had landed that attack. The fighter in the cloak stood there watching, and then all of a sudden, it bolted toward the snake.

"Who the hell is this person?" Aren wondered.

The snake attacked with blast after blast, but this person was extremely nimble and extremely fast, dodging the attacks with crazy precision. The tail of the snake came next and the figure dodged, leaping into the air, and then landing on the body of the snake.

The figure bolted up the snake, and even as it moved and thrashed, the figure still managed to climb until the head. At this point, the snake was shaking its head as fast as possible, trying its best to ensure it got this human off it, but the figure was like a parasite stuck to the snake.

The figure pulled out a syringe filled with the liquid she had extracted from many fallen snakes, and without pause, she stabbed it into the head of the snake, right under the horn, and then she poured it all in.

"What are they doing? I have a bad feeling about this." Aren muttered as he watched the scene unfold, and he had a right to have a bad feeling, as suddenly, the snake began thrashing even more. It gave off a strange red glow and its size started increasing.

"Shit," Aren cursed. Whatever this lady just did, she just made things harder for him. Not wanting to be a part of whatever this was, he bolted for an egg, running at top speed.

He saw the snake's incoming tail and leaped clean over it, landing and rolling before getting to his feet and bolting again. The egg was just within reach. He managed to get there and immediately snag it for himself, but that was when things took a nasty turn.

The snake turned to look at Aren. It let out a roar that reverberated off the walls, shaking everything.

"Shit, a snake is roaring, not hissing. That's a bad sign," Aren said and immediately started running, but the snake had already started giving chase. Its massive body slammed into the ground and lightning exploded in all directions, bolts thick as an arm.

"Oh fuck." Aren cursed. He leaped into the air and balled himself around the egg. The lightning slammed into his body, his suit taking most of it. He would come out of it fine, but it seemed the snake knew this and it unleashed another lightning attack, and this time more condensed and targeting Aren.

Boom!

The lightning slammed into him, throwing him back and slamming him against the cave walls hard. He let go of the egg. His eyes darted down. "Shit." He pressed himself against the wall and pushed off it, going down fast and grabbing the egg before it hit the ground. He landed with bent knees and immediately placed the egg into his ring, not wanting to lose it.

With the egg away, he got up straight, his eyes locked on the snake that was thrashing around, and for some reason, the figure that had injected that liquid into the snake had somehow vanished.

The snake let out another roar and lunged forward at Aren, but he stood there without care, and when it had closed the distance, he moved, bolting forward. He leaped into the air just before the snake got to him, reaching several meters into the air. He looked down with a calm and unbothered look on his face.

The snake might have suddenly gotten a strength boost or whatever, but it was still not a threat to Aren, at least not in Aren's mind.

He pointed his hand down, lightning gathered around it. "Let's see how you'll react to lightning," Aren said before unleashing a powerful blast of lightning that slammed right into the head of the snake.

CRACKLE

BOOM!

The snake's head shot violently from the attack, struggling to keep itself standing while Aren landed a few feet away. He lunged forward again, making use of the current state of the snake to finish this off.

"Shadow Tendrils."

Tendrils made of pure shadow burst out of the ground and latched onto the snake, wrapping around it and pulling it down to the ground.

BOOM!

The snake slammed into the ground hard. It tried to escape, writhing and shaking, but it didn't work. Then it tried a powerful blast of lightning that managed to destroy the tendrils, but new ones replaced them instantly.

Aren casually walked closer. "That was a pretty good fight, but unless you are an evolved monster, you don't really pose a threat to me," he said casually, and was about to use Claw Strike to end it all, but in the next moment, the eyes of the snake flashed a very bright red. The next moment, an even more powerful aura exploded from it as the snake pulled itself up, forcefully snapping all the tendrils to regain its freedom.

It then locked eyes with Aren and rushed at him, slamming right into Aren and throwing him back. Aren slammed against a wall, dropped down on his feet, and was ready to go again, but to his surprise, the snake didn't attack him. Instead, it rushed into one of the tunnels, trying to escape from Aren.

Aren saw it go and frowned. He wasn't going to let it go after he worked so hard to fight it. He immediately bolted and gave chase, entering the tunnel behind the snake.

After he was gone, the cloaked figure appeared again. They watched the tunnel Aren entered for a few seconds and then rushed into it themselves.
