Becoming the Wasteland Overlord With My Harem System!

Chapter 117: Bad Wolf!

Fenrir, like an unstoppable force, zipped through the fortress in a straight line. Everything that stood in her way was destroyed, whether it was walls or other fortifications.

Of course, that also meant everything needed to be fixed again, making Axel regret his hasty command.

When her figure was close enough to be visible, she faced the watchtower's top and jumped forward with great force. The blocks she kicked off cracked, revealing the power behind her leap.

Then, she crashed right into the top, where Axel stood, kneeling amid the falling debris of the disaster she had made.

"I've come, Master. Please give me your command," she said, cool and composed.

She wasn't even out of breath, despite running all that distance in a flash.

Axel stared at her, her wolf ears perked up in attention. Then, his gaze shifted to the damage the fortress had suffered—the trail of destruction she caused. A few witches were caught off guard by the shockwaves and became disoriented, while others were injured by the collapsing walls.

Thankfully, there were no fatalities.

"You…" Axel raised his hand and chopped the top of the wolf's head. "Bad dog!"

"…?"

Of course, the chop only hurt his hand, and nothing else.

Fenrir merely tilted her head in confusion, unaware of the meaning behind Axel's words.

"Ugh…" He grunted, shaking off the pain before addressing the clueless wolf. "I asked you to come, but did I ask you to destroy everything along the way? No!" he reprimanded her.

"Oh…"

At her realization, her proud ears quickly fell flat.

It was somehow cute seeing how her ears reflected her emotions, while her facial expression remained unchanged. Axel could feel that she regretted her choice… but probably didn't even know why she was receiving a sermon.

She knew she had done something bad, but wasn't aware of what it was!

Axel scratched his head and sighed in resignation. Then, he pulled up the repair menu by touching the broken walls of the observation tower.

"F-Fifty million…"

In less than a minute, Fenrir had caused fifty million Colts' worth of damage!

Although it pained his heart, he quickly paid the price and repaired the damage. Of course, he made sure everyone was away from the damaged parts first, in case they got "caught" in the aftermath.

As for the injuries—

"You. Can you bring these potions to those injured by this girl's rush? Don't worry about the cost." He said to a nearby witch, passing a wicker basket filled to the brim with Level 3 recovery potions.

"Y-Yes!"

The witch quickly grabbed the basket and ran, following Axel's command.

Fenrir, meanwhile, remained kneeling on both knees. Axel sighed once more before finally speaking.

"I know it wasn't your intention to damage the walls or injure anyone. However, remember that even with your powers sealed, you're still several times more powerful than any of us here."

To be specific, if her usable strength while under the demons' control was about five percent, then right now, she could only use roughly two percent of her full strength. She was weaker by half compared to when she could still maintain her wolf form.

Yet, it was still at least 10 times higher than Axel's current stats.

'If only I could see her exact stats…' Axel grumbled.

Even now that she was under his control, the Resident Management System still couldn't break past her "appraisal blocker," as Axel called it. If he could, then—

"Anyway!" Axel interrupted his thoughts, focusing on the present. "We'll be leaving for the next fortress in an hour. You should leave the protection of this fortress to the witches and stand by."

Fenrir heard his instructions and quickly knelt on one knee, bowing respectfully. "As you command, Master," she said, her ears rising straight and proud once more.

"Good."

After giving her instructions, Axel returned to the courtyard from before, where his small tent was located. Fenrir, having nothing else to do, stood by… beside Axel.

"…"

Although he did tell her to rest, he never said for her to stick to him like a bodyguard. Still, it wasn't an unpleasant feeling, seeing a beauty up close, staring at him so directly.

So, he simply let her be.

Instead, he focused on cooking his breakfast and lunch, brunch for short.

Since he didn't really have time to prepare a full meal—and wasn't in the mood to eat ready-made food from the shop—he grabbed the remaining meat from last night, skewered it, and started another barbecue session.

The savory smell of roasting meat soon wafted through the air, stirring hunger in those who caught a whiff of it. As expected, stomachs began to growl in protest.

"…"

Of course, not Axel's or the nearby witches', but Fenrir's.

Still, the legendary wolf's expression remained stone cold, almost as if insisting it wasn't her stomach that growled. However, the pair of ears atop her head betrayed her mental state.

The tips were red, trembling, twitching now and then, all while pointing toward the roasting meat on the grill. She was completely interested in what Axel was cooking!

"Well, feeding pets is also a master's job," Axel sighed, resigned to his fate.

He had forgotten to feed Fenrir for an entire night, after all—not even giving her water to drink. Thus, he quickly set up a small table, a pitcher of water, two glasses, and handed over a finished skewer.

"Here. Eat it, so you can exert more energy later when we're on the move."

"Thank you for your mercy, Master."

Fenrir bowed and received the meat respectfully—and—

In one gulp, the food disappeared into her mouth… skewer and all.

"Wait, no!" Axel chopped her head once again. "Don't eat the iron skewer! Spit it out!"

"…!"

Realizing her mistake, Fenrir quickly let the skewer's sharp tip slip from her pursed lips before pulling the entire thing out. Axel watched in wonder as it happened. The skewer was a foot long, after all—it shouldn't have fit in her mouth, no matter how you thought about it.

"W-Well, putting that aside…" He gave up thinking about it and pointed at the pitcher. "You should drink some water too. Drink as much as you need."

"Yes, Master."

"Ah! But don't swallow the pitcher! Drink using the cups—pour it like this… and don't bite or swallow the cup either!"

Axel instructed her as if teaching a clueless child.

He never thought that the legendary monster, Fenrir, would be so awkward about human matters.

…And of course, he was equally clueless that even without food or water, Fenrir could survive for years on her reserve energy alone.

Her stomach growling?

Just a reflex after smelling something delicious!
