Chapter 117: 117:A class dungeon II

Alaric looked around the plaza until he spotted what he was looking for. An extremely beautiful flower pot is placed in the middle of the group of Flowers. It was the most beautiful of all flowers.

"Alaric don't get us killed," John said as he glanced at the gigantic tower.

" I won't, just try to survive," Alaric said.

He raised his arms above his shoulder and swang the whip hard, it flew over the other Flowers on the plaza and hit the flower pot at the top. It broke into pieces scattering across the plaza.

The wind froze and the music turned to a scream as the plaza distorted. The people in the plaza opened their mouths to scream but nothing came out only their eyes filled with pure horror.

The tower distorted even more ,the bony structure and walls made from human screaming faces become more pronounced.

In a blink of an eye the plaza returned back to normal as though nothing had gone wrong. Alaric looked around at the plaza but even the broken flower pot had returned to it's original place.

" What the fuck Alaric that freaking scared me?" John said his hand on his chest," you broke that flower pot right?"

" Yes he did, but look the dungeon returned it back to normal," Ruby said.

Things were getting weirder and weirder.

" Shall we go wild?" Alaric asked.

The others nodded and started to destroy anything in sight. The dungeon kept on trying to replace it but before it could even rest Alaric and his friends will break it back.

" Look," snowy said pointing up at the unusually blue sky.

The sky was cracking while the clouds had start to become a shade of pinkish red.

" I think it's a reflection," Ruby said.

The distortions had gotten too frequent. The people in the plaza had started to transform. Their human skin started to shed and what remained was a bag of bones with rotten brown meat holding their bodies up.

Despite their distorted appearance they still had that creepy smile on their faces as they kowtowed and looked towards the tower.

The pressure passed over them but they were all prepared for it. They didn't kneel this time but remained standing barely. The pain from standing instead of kneeling was unbearable. It felt like something was inside the body trying to push them down.

Sweat dripped down Alaric's face and back as he swang his whip and hit the ground. The stone slabs cracked revealing moving flesh underneath.

"Why do you resist perfection," a deep voice whispered directly into his mind. He looked around but didn't see the whisperer. He knew immediately it was the dungeon boss.

Visions started to pass through his mind ,where resting became easier, surrender would make things easier, letting go has made everything quite and easier. It was basically a stress free life for someone who just wants to lie down forever.

Alaric was almost tempted, who wouldn't. Everything would be provided for him forever.

Then the image of the brothel, something he had put his mind , body, and soul into appeared. He clenched his teeth and cut through the fog building up in his mind. He couldn't live a sexless life again. He had it all money, women and a still progressing strength.

" I don't want this monotone that you call perfection," he said as more pain assaulted him," I want real life."

He stepped forward little by little as the pressure increased even more. He swang his whip towards the direction of the tower. He didn't know what he was doing but it just felt right to do that.

The whip hit something. There was silence for a second before the sound of glass breaking filled the air.

Alaric swang again at the cracked mirror as the tower broke into two and started to distort.

A burst of ice passed overhead and struck the place he had just struck. The others seemed to have gotten what Alaric was attempting to do.

They shot their power towards the mirror as they watched the glass break more and more.

With one last hit the glass broke into small pieces. Alaric covered his face instinctively waiting for the glass to fly towards him. Nothing happened.

He looked around to see the glasses float around before they turned into red lights and disappeared.

They had broken the illusion, but what lay underneath was worse than they had imagined.

"This is so fucked up," someone whispered.

Infront of them was a bridge made purely of people, dead people. Alaric could even recognize some of them. He saw one corpse that resembled the woman who had been crying to him.

Alaric looked around the plaza. It was either roads made of dried blood or building made from human flesh and bones.

The tower was still present but it had changed horribly. It was now made of bones , flesh and screaming human faces placed on it as decorations. The flowing water had turned to blood.

" I think the illusions were better, the real thing is not good for the eyes," Alaric whispered.

A loud ear splitting scream filled the air. The dungeon shook with the scream. Alaric covered his ears but he was still affected. He could still hear a small ring and blood dripped down his ears.

His ear drums had been raptured but he could still hear. The scream ended seconds later.

Alaric looked towards the huge towers. He knew they had to get there but there was only one way in.

" So, who's going first?" John said stepped back from the bridge.

" I'll go first," Hailey said suddenly. She had been quiet through the whole city trouble time and let Ruby take the lead.

Alaric stood at the back as the Hailey stepped onto the bridge. Everyone looked on with baited breath , but nothing happened. They wait d for another five minutes while Hailey moved forward slowly but nothing happened, it was a bridge.

" Everything is fine," Hailey shouted.

Snowy stepped on the bridge first. The others followed. Alaric was the second last with Ruby behind him. With the two A classes sandwiching them, he felt like his chances of surviving had increased.

He looked down into the valley. The only thing present at the valley was a huge mirror that reflected them. The bridge wasn't visible, just them walking.

Alaric didn't look down again, he had been haunted enough. He didn't want to add more to his nightmares.

They crossed the bridge without incident and stood infront of the huge door. There were small red lines around the door, that was the only real wooden structure in the dungeon.

Alaric turned and looked behind them across the bridge. The place had rebuild itself. He could see the people were still the same with no change at all.

The door opened after just a little push. They walked inside the house despite Alaric feeling like a horror cannon fodder.

The inside was surprisingly normal.

Stone walls, narrow winding stairs that seemed to have no end as they continued to climb up. There wasn't anything golden or white in the tower. Just neural colors that matched victorian architecture.

It was empty except for a single crib in the middle of the huge floor.

" I told you to accept it," a voice came from the crib. It was the very voice of the baby who had talked to them in the city plaza.

" It's you," Ruby bluttered out in surprise. Who wouldn't be. It was clear the dungeon was made by the baby. It was the dungeon boss after all.

The baby boss floated into the air looking at them with curious eyes. From the distance it seemed harmless and it's eyes had gone back to normal and it looked like a real baby.

" Don't mistake simplicity for weakness," Alaric whispered. The baby had almost got him with the cuteness but he had managed to snap out of it. He wondered how a boss could be a baby and it seemed to have this one idea of what perfection looks like.

It was probably a memory or something it was raised looking at.

The baby raised it's right hand and clenched it before waving it to the side. Alaric felt something hard slam into him and he flew to the right and hit the wall pretty hard creating a dent.

The others had also faced the same fate except for Ruby who had only moved a few stepped to the right.

Alaric had warned the others of being fooled by its appearance but it seemed he had not full dissociated. Children were really a good form of distruction. Just a blink and you'll be on your knees before them. Being slammed in the wall had really woken him up.

" Shit, that is one hell of a strong baby," John shouted. He clenched his fist and punched into the air. A wave of fire came from his hand and headed for the child directly.

The flame vaporized and disappeared before it it could it even reach the child.

The child screamed ,John was thrown across the room and slammed into the wall.

He didn't get up after.

No one had time to care about him , the tower started to shake with each cry.

Alaric tried to swing his whip but the child noticed him it. Before it could attack him , Snowy shot ice towards the baby and it managed to on the boss.

" Alaric, distract it, it's a baby after all," Ruby shouted.
