lust bound: The prostitute rank up system.

Chapter 33: 33: House hunting

It was the vedio of him on his bedroom balcony shouting to the crowd that he loves sex. The moment he saw it he felt like crawling into the ground.

It had been an impulsive decision but this would definitely be a stain on his life. He now understood why the number of awakeners triggered had increased.

" You are really something," the driver said chuckling to himself.

Alaric laughed awkwardly and turned to look at the buildings outside. He wasn't about to embarrass himself more.

" Young people," the driver added not caring if he answered or not.

Ten minutes later they arrived at a small real estate agency he had seen online. He paid the driver and walked into the building.

The building was just a two story office building and the outside was old with chipped painting. He didn't have A lot of money to waste and it's not like he could go to those luxury estates.

He pushed the door open and the bell hunging up chimed as he stepped into the office. The inside wasn't much better , disorganized with only a receptionist sitting there looking at him surprised.

The old man sitting behind the reception desk upon seeing him pushed up his glasses ,stood up and walked towards him with a tired but eager smile on his face.

" Are you looking for property?" He asked as he extended his arm in greetings.

Alaric was already regretting his decision, he was thinking of leaving and going to another one since he had a lot of options. The place just didn't give him any hope.

It looked like it was going to shut down in a few.

" Yes ," he said politely taking his hand. The old man smiled Even harder leading to one of the chairs.

" Do you need coffee?" he asked as he walked back to reception desk picking a cup from a box.

" No," Alaric said, he wasn't about to get sick because of coffee.

" We have a few surviving properties here," he said handing him a small stuck of folders.

Alaric took the folder. The moment he opened it dust flew right to his face and he started to cough.

Just where had he come? He thought to himself angryly this was the final straw .

He stood up still coughing trying to get the dust as far away from him as possible. Cheap things really came with a price. He understood now why this place was deserted.

Who would want to buy a house there if this kind of service.

" This is ridiculous," he said softly as he started to leave. The older man held his hand. He tried to pull but the man didn't let go.

" It's only three properties, just check them . Please," the man begged as Alaric dragged him with him as he was leaving. They were almost at the door but after hearing that Alaric sighed.

" One last chance and you open that folder yourself," he said still standing near the door. The man nodded with a smile on his face and let go of his hand and went back to pick the folder and walked back to him.

"We have a town house near the commercial district five bedroom prime location if you work in the capital," he said showing an old looking building that looked like it was about to fall down.

It was too small for a brothel and just the location wasn't ideal. He wanted something isolated but not too isolated. He'll just know when he finds it.

" No that doesn't work, it's too small ," he said to man who nodded and showed another picture.

" We have a fully refurbished apartment block, it's large and has a huge space and you can customize it however you want," he said pointing at the huge building. The inside was slick and mordern but the precense of neighbors was a killing factor.

Alaric shook his head, the man was now sweating. This was his last property and almost every had rejected it just by the location.

" The last one is a mansion but the problem is it's located twenty minutes outside the city ," he said showing him the picture.

The moment Alaric saw the third listing, something clicked. The place was just perfect, he could just feel it it was as though it was calling him.

The place had old stone exterior walls that surrounded it, multiple rooms, it's own courtyard and a distance enough to avoid most of the city noise but still close enough to reach there with no trouble. It also had enough extra land around that if he wanted to expand he would be hindered.

He wanted it to be some sort of sanctuary for both workers and the awakened.

" This one," he said immediately.

The old man blinked in surprise showing him the mansion had just been for formality.

"Are you sure most folks avoid the place because of the awakened disturbances nearby.. there are rumours of strange lights..."

" That's fine," Alaric cut him off. He really didn't care he just wanted the place.

They went through the paperwork that seemed to have been chewed then spit out and then dried. The man would apologize every two minutes for the printer that kept breaking down like it was it's mission.

When Alaric saw the price, he was surprised since it was just too low from how it looked. Despite the place where it had been built the mansion was pretty solid. From the price they looked despaerate to sell the place.

" People don't like to live where anomalies show up," the old man said taking his credit card,"" so .. I'll give you a discount."

Alaric signed without any hesitation at all. He had gotten a huge mansion for a steal price. A sixty percent discount. Five hundred thousand dollars wasn't really that much money for it. And he had enough to spare for renovations and hiring.

When he stepped back outside with house keys, the system chimed softly the interface appearing.

( Location secured: Hill side mansion)

Objective 1 complete.

Reward:+3 influence,+1 reputation.

He'd really done it, he'd secured his first deal.

...

Gravel crunched under Alaric shoes as he pushed open the rusted iron gate. Infront of him the mansion rose the midmorning sunlight catching the faded black walls, revealing cracks and a lot of over grown weeds.

The moment he stepped past the gate he felt the air cooling, a small breeze carrying the smell gardenia and roses brushed against him. The place looked old but that was what gave it it's charm.

He walked down the gravel road and arrived Infront of the huge double door. There were intricate patterns on the door clearly curved by an expert. He put the key in and turned.

The mansion opened with a click .

Inside the air smelled of mold and dust , but the place was old and uninhibited for a long time after all.

A wide entrance hall stretched before him and underneath the sheet of dirt he could see the still surviving wooden floor. He bent down and pushed the dirt to the side. The floor looked new and didn't have any scratches on them which was a plus for him.

He didn't plan on changing the structure of the mansion at all but just renovate it a little and but still leave it looking like it had come from a historic era.

He walked down the hallway to the main lounge. The lounge was large with tall windows facing the courtyard. Faded curtains swayed with the wind that blew through some places with broken glass . Light streamed in through the swaying curtains lighting the room.

He could almost imagine coaches arrangements and people just sitting there enjoying the breeze as they took their money.

It really felt like it was meant to be.

Alaric moved and touched the walls but they were solid stone walls and looked strong. He walked to the double staircase lined with dust covered red carpet that led to the second floor.

The hallway in the second floor was long , lined with several doors with dust floating in the air. He opened one of the doors.

The room was spacious with another window overlooking the distance. He checked two others and they had the same layout fully furnished with old furniture. He imagined it clean and organized and couldn't wait.

After viewing the upper floor Alaric moved back to the lounge and walked to the corner where a door was located on the wall. He pulled open the door to see stairs leading down.

The stone steps lead down into a wide underground chamber. There were old shelfs and crates around .

He could also feel the mana in the air probably the anomaly the old man was talking about left behind from a dungeon or something related.

Since mana was also important to the awakened could imagine them just coming for this place.

He smiled and murmured to himself," this is perfect for specialized rooms."

This would be the place where only the awakened elites would ask for.

He walked around the mansion and moved to the courtyard looking at the overgrown plants and flowers and old pavements. They would also need alot of landscaping.

Outside Alaric turned towards the mansion again and exhaled softly. It didn't look old to him it looked like the future.

The future velvet Haven.

He wondered how the girls would react when they saw it.

Alaric turned to leave when he heard a crunch , someone was there .
