'Yes, I can do it,' the young man, Thomas, cheered himself up as he clenched the staff tighter.
"Quick, Thomas! Use the artifact!" his teammate—the tank—yelled as an insane gust and dark demonic force spread across the area.
Thomas broke into a sweat as he stared at the multicolored slime in front of him.
It was wrapped in demonic force, and winds blew from the pressure it gave off.
"I need to use this… lend me power for my will," he said, closing his eyes.
He had heard about the dangers of using sealed artifacts—corruption and death by becoming its vessel.
'I won't use the sealed artifact for long—just a few times—and be done. It's for her… for her to fall for me,' he thought, sneaking a peek at the beautiful brown-haired woman standing near him.
He activated the staff. It glowed with black energy.
However, before he could even feel its power, a chill ran down his spine.
The slime was already right in front of him. It punched him.
----
"Demonic Fist," Slime#47 activated his skill and smashed his fist into the young man's head.
Boom!
Thomas's head burst like a watermelon. Blood, flesh, bone, and brain matter splattered onto the party members.
Thud!
His headless body fell to the ground.
"AAAHHH!" the brown-haired woman screeched wildly.
She fell to her knees in fright as she stared at Thomas's dead body.
"&^^—!" the burly shieldman roared and held his shield for defense tightly.
Two layers of transparent yellow barriers formed around him and his shield, covering his entire body.
However, it proved futile.
The slime flashed in front of him.
"Demonic Fist. Demonic Surge."
Slime#47 poured enormous demonic force into the skill and punched the barrier.
Crack!
His fist shattered the barriers like glass and connected with the shield.
Crack!
The shield broke into multiple pieces.
The slime's fist didn't stop. It drove through the broken shield—
Thud!
—and connected with the sternum of the burly man.
The man's chest shattered. His internal organs turned to pieces under the demonic force.
He flew back while spitting blood.
Thud!
He crashed onto the ground.
The slime didn't even glance at the body. He already knew the man was dead.
He flashed in front of the stunned fat woman.
Her hands trembled as she yanked out her magic staff, but she couldn't even cast a spell.
Bang!
Another punch.
Another dead body.
The slime turned his eyes and noticed the archer running away, his body flaring with bright blue mana—a boost skill.
'As expected.' He grinned.
He knew their true nature. He had witnessed it in the earlier loops.
They wouldn't hesitate to abandon their teammates to save their own lives—he had seen that behavior before.
Whoosh!
He dashed toward the archer.
"She doesn't have the courage to fight," he muttered as the brown-haired woman pissed herself in fear, water spreading across the ground.
He knew it was fine to leave her for last.
In a moment, the archer was within reach.
Boom!
"Demonic Fist."
Slime#47 slammed his fist into the archer's back.
The archer had already thrown away his heavy bow to increase his speed.
Crack!
The spine broke.
The man spat blood as his body rose into the air.
Thud!
He fell to the ground—dead.
"*&&…" the brown-haired woman stammered as she stared at the multicolored slime that had slaughtered all her teammates.
She burst into tears.
'I shouldn't have agreed to this quest,' she thought, her entire body shaking as she couldn't move, 'I don't want to die… no, I still want to fall in love, get married…'
"Looks like I was right," Slime#47 muttered.
He hadn't even bothered to check their status.
It wasn't arrogance or overconfidence—his senses simply told him enough.
Their mana and aura were utterly weak, so he hadn't bothered checking their power level.
And he was right.
It only took a few hits to finish the fight.
He ended her life with a punch.
Then he glanced at their belongings, but his eyes twitched as rage flared inside him. 'Vaellll…'
The sealed artifact staff had vanished.
He knew who took it—but he was powerless.
With a bitter sigh, he picked up all the magic pouches of five humans and checked them with his mana.
"Good. There should be enough for teleportation," he grinned.
----
More than ten days later, Elder Slime inscribed a huge magic array in front of the fortress.
Unlike the previous loop, Slime#47 was carefree—because they had come faster this time.
Mainly because the Dancing Lightning Party had arrived a little earlier than in previous loops.
He attributed it to the butterfly effect.
Soon, everyone teleported to the Demon King's castle.
----
Basement 1…
Young Slime focused as a massive amount of mana flooded into him.
He felt himself lift into the air, floating—
Thud!
—and landing on the ground.
He found himself in front of the same shadowy figure as in the previous loop.
A huge, five-meter-tall humanoid male shadow silhouette stood before him—black, heavy full-body armor, staring down coldly.
Two red eyes flashed on his invisible shadow face.
He said in a cold, hoarse voice, "Get ready! The Trial of Wisdom begins…master all the languages," He paused, then glanced at the young slime, "You have the demon tongue… so you are granted only three months for this trial."
"Only three months?" Young Slime yelled. 'I know how tough mastering a language is… I needed a few years to learn a language, and even then, I wasn't fluent in writing.'
"All languages in just three months…" Slime#47 felt it was impossible.
The shadow glared and advised, "Trial of Wisdom—use your wisdom."
"Wisdom…" Young Slime muttered.
The shadow snapped its fingers.
----
"Where is this?" Slime#47 whispered as he found himself standing before a huge castle.
It was massive—well over three kilometers into the sky.
He was blown away by its majesty and the immense mana it emitted.
"Look… is he?" a teenage female demon with small horns asked doubtfully, nudging a teenage male demon beside her.
He had small black folded wings and large horns.
"It seems… he is from the future…" the male demon declared confidently.
"Look how blown away he is," the girl laughed at the slime's shock.
"Don't be careless. He's the same race as Lord Remora…" the boy warned his friend. "He might be very talented. Let's go make friends with him."
