Boom!
Both beams collided.
"Quick!" Slime#47 roared as he poured all his demonic force into Demonic Pulse. Luckily, he had recovered a little demonic force earlier
He didn't even need to order Elder Slime—Old Slime had already picked up his operating speed.
Within moments, bright white light flashed as the last batch of cattle teleported.
"Quick!" Slime#47 yelled again.
The purple beam overpowered his skill, closing the distance—nearly seventy percent. It was only a moment away from hitting him.
All the slimes and cattle had teleported. Only Mama Slime, Elder Slime, Little Slime, Cow#1, and Bull#1 remained.
"Increase! More power! I want that slime dead!" the purple‑haired man roared as he watched the teleportation array working.
The remaining demons didn't waste time.
Mama Slime and Little Slime jumped in first.
Elder Slime—fully focused, controlling the array—leaped in as well.
Cow#1 fell to her knees. Her legs gave out. She couldn't move as she stared at the two beams in terror.
"Hmph." Bull#1 puffed his nose in disgust, grabbed Cow#1, and dragged her into the array.
The beam had already closed in—just a meter away.
"Demonic Surge!" Slime#47 activated it, pouring in the last of his demonic force as he dashed into the array.
Bang!
A huge crater gouged the ground where he had been a moment ago.
Old Slime activated the array.
White light flashed, and everyone vanished.
"Crap! He escaped!" The purple‑haired lad clenched his fists, glaring at the still‑glowing dome in fury.
"Fireball."
He cast a burning sphere—several meters wide—straight at it.
Bang!
The array shattered as the fireball struck.
----
"Where is this?" Young Slime asked, staring at the place he had arrived.
He was inside a large, dark room. The only light came from the glowing silver white teleportation dome, still fading from their arrival.
Slimes bounced around, acting as if nothing had happened.
The cattle lay on the ground, exhausted from the journey. Cow#1 vomited to the side while Bull#1 patted her back.
Mama Slime stared blankly at the magic sigils.
Elder Slime had tears in his eyes—tears no one noticed in the low light.
Little Slime played around the flickering dome.
"Fireball."
A crimson magic rune flashed on Slime#47's palm. He pointed it upward.
A large sphere of flames formed, and he made it float high—lighting up the entire room.
"This…" He froze.
The room was huge—well over a hundred square meters. A massive magic glyph was inscribed across the gray marble-tiled floor beneath them.
Dust covered everything.
Wherever he looked, spider threads hung like curtains. Green mold had piled up in corners.
The room itself was plain, but lamps stood every few steps, and chandeliers hung from the ceiling. They were coated in thick dust and mold—yet still clung tightly overhead.
Every few meters, he spotted a space stone embedded in the array.
'This array isn't connected only to Ruins City Lunxia… but also to many cities,' he realized.
The magic sigils across the room—even the ones on the walls—were clean, unbroken.
'They just ran out of energy.' He clicked his tongue, scanning the place.
This room had endured time far better than the Ruins City Lunxia. There wasn't a single crack in the walls or tiles.
"Welcome to the Demon King Palace," Elder Slime said with a heavy grin, wiping his tears away silently. "We are in the capital city Remorae… of the demon continent."
"Demon King Palace?" Little Slime jumped in shock. "Hmm… what's a demon king?" he asked, confused.
"Hm. I'll explain later," Old Slime replied, then turned to Young Slime. "It's time to take the Demon King's heir trials."
"Trials… and Demon King's heir?" Slime#47 asked. 'Did he bring us all the way here for some test?' he wondered.
"Yes. Passing them will grant you extraordinary power," Elder Slime replied, bouncing closer.
He continued solemnly, "There's no time to waste. We must be quick."
Young Slime nodded as his eyes shone when he heard strength. He wanted power—fast. 'I need to forge an immortal soul… to separate from Vael. And that purple guy is hell‑bent on killing me. He might find his way here as well.'
His core ached when he remembered that purple beam.
"Me! Me! I'll also participate in these trials!" Little Slime yelled excitedly, bouncing forward.
Smack!
Elder Slime smacked him hard and sent him flying.
Thud!
Little Slime landed and sulked on the floor.
----
"Whoa…" Young Slime was blown away the moment he stepped out of the teleportation room.
A massive hall—nearly the size of two football fields—spread out before him. Rooms lined the sides.
Ornate furniture, statues every few meters, paintings on the walls, scattered trinkets. It screamed luxury. The pity was that dust and green mold covered it all.
'Even after erosion of time… it is still extraordinary,' he thought. 'How beautiful was it at its peak?'
The lamps and chandeliers clicked on the moment they entered, giving them full vision.
Elder Slime looked proud as he watched Young Slime's shock.
Slime#47 remembered Old Slime's earlier words and asked, "You called this city Remorae?"
"Yes," Elder Slime explained with a wide grin. "This city was built by Demon King Remora. To honor him, we named it Remorae."
----
After admiring the palace, they reached the end of the hall.
"Is that an elevator?" the multicolored slime asked, spotting a compartment in the wall with buttons and floor numbers.
'It almost resembles a modern elevator,' he thought. Otherworlders were common in this world, but it still gave nostalgia.
"Yes. An elevator that can pull people to higher floors," Old Slime nodded, then pointed at the stairs in the corner. "But we should take the stairs. The elevator should've run out of energy."
Slime#47 nodded. 'I still want to take the elevator… it reminds me of Earth.'
"It's basement 149?" he blurted after reading the number panel.
"Hahaha! It's only 149," Old Slime laughed, amused by his shock. "There are more than 500 basements below… and more than 700 upper floors."
'This scale is like a skyscraper…' Young Slime clicked his tongue. He was used to huge buildings, but he couldn't believe—something this big existed in a fantasy world.
