The Gamer’s POV

Chapter 133: Important Conversation [1]

I already had an idea… a suspicion of who their other target could be.

The information from Leon just confirmed it. He is indeed their other target. However, things had just become even more confusing, and many other questions suddenly popped up.

He is the protagonist, isn't he? Why is he being labeled by them as the antagonist?

More importantly, why the hell am I also labeled as an antagonist? What the fuck have I done to anyone to deserve such a title?

At that moment, a look of curiosity crossed Uriel's face and she asked, "You don't look surprised. Did you already know this?"

I thought for a bit before finally replying. "I had a group of people that I didn't know try to kill me some time ago."

Uriel blinked in surprise. "And you survived? What happened? When was this?"

Rather than answering that, I asked, "These beings that are after us, who are they? And why are they after us?"

Uriel looked down, staying silent.

It was Leon who finally replied. "These beings who are after us, are the new lords of the first ring."

"What?!"

What the…

What the freak?

When I heard the two who had attacked us back at the Merdini's Burial Ground talk about the King's Paradise, I wondered what was going on there. It had been on my mind for a while now.

"They were the lords of the first ring?" I asked.

Both Uriel and Leon nodded.

I suddenly grew lost in thoughts that were spiraling.

'Weren't the lords of the first ring the Nagas? What the hell happened. Who are these guys? How were they able to take over beings like the Nagas?'

Leon leaned forward.

"The future is changing Cedric. It changes everyday. I've looked into what could be causing this and realized that it's not just one person influencing the future.

"At the beginning of this year, I ran a check on what my future would be like. I was nervous about joining the bastion, and I was nervous about my first lunar eclipse. But then my nervousness disappeared when I found out that things were meant to go great for me. I was supposed to join Princess Aurora's party. And even though things were going to be hard, I was meant to destroy the red bridge which was supposed to be in the Garden of Abel, here in the grade one territory. Finally, I, alongside half of the cadets here, was meant to return home alive."

He paused for a moment, staring down at his hands. "However, right before crossing the veil into this realm, I checked again, and that was when I realized that everything had changed. I woke up in a grade two territory. Ever since then, I have been trying to keep up, and every day, something in the future changes. When I tried to divine what could be the cause, I figured that the leader of the lords was one of those responsible."

'Huh?'

That was new. I had suspected a higher being was involved, but I never imagined it could be one of the Lords. Does that mean they are powerful enough to have this much influence over everything?

Leon continued.

"That was when I found out that new lords had appeared and had replaced the old lords, who were creatures called Nagas. These new lords… they look just like us. To be honest, I was disturbed. I tried divining where they came from. But then I was even more confused when I saw that they were not from this world or our world."

He looked at me. "They are from a world called Earth."

"Earth?" I repeated, trying to keep a confused look on my face.

Leon nodded.

"It is a world that is completely different from ours."

I kept the confused look on my face as if I had no idea about this earth he was talking about. 'So they really did come from Earth. How? And why?'

…Before I could ask these questions, Leon continued. "Upon arriving in this world, they took over the entire first ring, and just moments before we arrived, their leader moved the red bridge to the Home of the Sculpted Ones using an authority called Administrative Privileges."

My jaw dropped, and it was like someone had just poured chilled water down my back.

'What? There's also Admin Privileges?'

I was completely taken aback. I had the Gamer privileges. I didn't know the reason why I had this exclusive attribute, but so far, it had been a great help as an insanely powerful asset.

But now, there was also Admin Privileges?

It was because I knew exactly how insane my own attribute was that I was suddenly feeling a sense of dread. I began to wonder just how insane this particular privilege was, and if it was more powerful than mine.

As if to confirm my fears, Leon added, "This authority of his is really insane, to be honest. From what I could tell, it makes him something almost like a god. It gives him near-absolute authority over all the beings in this realm, and the very structure of the realm itself."

'Goddamn…'

I swallowed.

Then I rubbed my temples as a headache began to form. All this information was simply too much to handle that a headache had begun to throb behind my eyes.

'…near absolute authority over all the beings in this realm, and the very structure of the realm itself? What the hell kind of final boss is this?'

What is this plot turning into?

How did I suddenly become the antagonist of this sort of final boss.

What game is this even?

Why do I feel like the difficulty has just gone from hard mode to literally impossible?

I sighed.

'I hope we do not run into this final boss. Please… God, Buddha, any gods that are out there... do not let us run into this boss.'

At that moment, Leon also sighed and said, "It gets worse…"

"It gets worse?!"
