Rage is temporary, peace is eternal
Amon glanced curiously at the lady, noting her shock, and was inwardly curious.
"And you are?"
There was silence for a few seconds and the chill spreading into the surroundings ceased. Helena glanced at Amon, her expression neutral before responding.
"Helena Stargrave."
"The princess?" Amon raised a brow curiously at her.
He knew from his father that the Stargrave were the rulers of Europe, so hearing someone bearing the name he immediately made the connection.
Although he was uncertain.
"Hmm," Helena nodded, then glanced around. "Since you've dealt with all the demon beasts here I'll be taking my leave. See you at the academy, Amon Adam."
"Bye." Amon waved his left hand to bid her farewell.
With that, Helena lightly stepped on the air and the space in front of her shrunk.
Instantly, she vanished from everyone's view.
Amon shifted his attention to everyone else surrounding him, then cracked a smile. "Want to fight?"
Carmen hesitated briefly, then waved at Amon. "See you at the academy."
"See you at the academy," Mei Aiko said, a little Japanese accent mixed into her voice.
"See you at the academy," Li Mingxuan, the Chinese youth, also said before departing.
The others also told Amon 'see you at the academy' before leaving, until only the blind girl was left.
Amon knew the reason they were all telling him that.
It was to show their unshakable confidence.
They were simply saying, 'passing the academy entrance examination is difficult for others, but for me, it's a piece of cake.'
The thought made Amon chuckle before shifting his gaze to the blind girl who was walking toward him.
"I want to exchange one sword move with you."
"A single sword move?" Amon glanced at her curiously.
"I'd love to fight you but I don't have much time left to do so. I just want to exchange a single attack to see if you're worth my blood racing for."
"Oh." Amon was bewildered.
Was this love at first sight?
He didn't feel much emotion for her, so if she was to be more direct how would he politely reject her?
'God help me.' Amon lamphooned internally.
"Be prepared," the blind girl said, then a sword flew out from thin air.
Amon glanced at her hand and noticed a ring there.
A universe ring.
'To think she has one.'
Amon didn't pay much attention to it as the blind girl had already poised to attack him.
He brandished his sword and his eyes narrowed.
He didn't dare be careless.
Instantly, something akin to a river appeared behind the blind girl.
While on Amon's side, he muttered internally, "Dispersing Moon Sword Art."
This was the fourth technique from the sword art James had taught him.
Amon's surroundings became misty, and the faint haze of a moon rising from the mist appeared briefly behind him.
SWISH.
Both youths disappeared, then reappeared in the same spot, and both of their attacks vanished.
Due to the mist and ocean blocking the view, the instructors were unable to tell what happened.
"We should be friends."
The sword in the blind girl's grasp disappeared and she spoke with a faint smile.
Clasping her hands behind her back, Natasha calmly walked away, her speed increasing with each step.
"Okay." Amon's faint voice came from behind, causing her smile to widen.
"What a strong girl," Amon shook his trembling hands before muttering.
In the attack just now, he and the blind girl had actually been evenly matched.
But it was uncertain if she was using her full strength.
'Still, if I create eight more gifts and fuse with my dragon I doubt she will be a match for me.'
Glancing around, Amon no longer felt interested in killing monsters anymore.
His primordial energy appeared briefly around his body and he sat cross legged, then began recovering his primordial energy.
Due to his sheer brutality, more than four of his cores had exhausted their primordial energy.
Slowly, wisps of primordial energy flowed into his primordial veins, nourishing his body as he recovered.
…
"Seth, you've truly birthed a monster." An instructor praised Seth, who had a calm smile on his face as he slowly sipped his tea.
Seth shrugged, then shamelessly replied, "It runs in the blood. Isn't that the same way I dominated while I was at the academy so many years ago?"
Hearing his shameless words, a few instructors couldn't help rolling their eyes.
Still, some didn't miss the opportunity to remark with a smile.
"It seems the academy this year will be truly interesting."
"Indeed," another instructor nodded.
Time gradually ticked by and four hours went by in a flash.
Normally that was the amount of time given to the students to complete the mission.
The results of the top ten were solidified the moment the time elapsed.
…
Amon Adam: 1895
Helena Stargrave: 100
Li Mingxuan: 100
Carmen Davil: 100
Mei Aiko: 100
Natasha: 100
…
As soon as the entrance examination concluded, a bright flash of light erupted across the ocean.
In the blink of an eye, all the students had been transported.
More than 500 of them were left on stage, meanwhile the remaining had been eliminated for failing to kill even a single creature.
Amon felt his perception change and he appeared back atop the spaceship.
He glanced around and noticed the geniuses he had encountered before, then his eyes shifted to his surroundings.
Groans of pain entered his ears as he noticed everyone around him.
Some of them had broken limbs while others had pale faces, a sign that their divine energy had exhausted.
Amon sighed at their fate, but his attention was quickly drawn to the elevated platform where the instructors were.
There, a middle aged man stepped forward to address them once again.
"Congratulations to all 503 people who performed exceptionally well.
"The first stage of the entrance examination has concluded and the second phase will now begin. The second phase is a test of one's strongest attack and the instructor in charge will be Instructor Damien."
As he finished speaking he glanced around at the platform, only to be dumbfounded when he didn't see Instructor Damien.
"Instructor Damien?" he called out, his voice louder this time.
"INSTRUCTOR DAMIEN." His voice thundered and the youths could feel the anger bubbling inside him.
"Here… here. I'm coming."
A middle aged man with short silver hair rushed in their direction. It was obvious he had just come from one of the smaller ships gathered.
His clothes were a little bit messy and his expression was haggard as he quickened his pace while rubbing his eyes.
Although he was handsome, there were dark circles under his eyes and it was obvious he had been sleeping previously.
Feeling embarrassed, the instructor in charge fumed internally, planning to report Damien to the academy head.
Still, he glanced back at the students.
"Instructor Damien will be in charge of testing out your strongest attacks—"
"Chill pal, I can handle it from here." Damien casually waved his hand as he spoke.
A vein popped up in the instructor's head and he couldn't help glancing at Damien in anger.
"Yo, kids. Feel free to hit me with everything you've got. Don't worry, you're too weak to hurt me."
Grinning, he glanced at the group of 500 before increasing his pace.
There, a raised platform had formed in the place and Damien stood atop it.
With one hand behind his back he glanced at the youths. "Well then, who's coming up first?"
Amon quietly gazed at this interesting instructor and felt a faint hint of mutual connection to him.
There was something about him that Amon couldn't place his hands on.
And it was unknown if it was something good or bad.
