Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 94: Competition 2

Amon glanced around in shock and subconsciously looked down at himself, only for his eyes to widen in disbelief.

"What?" Amon muttered, stunned.

His robes were gone and a slight breeze swept across his skin as he changed completely, looking like something entirely different.

Amon had changed into a skeleton.

He touched himself, not believing it in the slightest.

His bony exterior clashed against each other and he didn't feel anything.

His sense of touch seemed to have vanished completely.

Amon narrowed his eyes at the sight…

'I've become a skeleton? How?'

Recalling the knowledge of the previous Star Gate he had entered, he understood that such a thing was possible.

But he didn't want to think along those lines.

He thought it was only possible for him to become a normal human again, but becoming a skeleton?

'Does this mean I can even become star beasts?' Amon felt a slight chill.

Just as he was lost in thought, he heard a sharp sound streak through the air.

Then, something collided with him.

Amon snapped his eyes around, his empty eye sockets landing on a group of children not too far away.

Strangely, despite the fact that his eye sockets were empty, he could clearly see them.

Snotty-nosed brats with varying facial expressions. Amon counted five of them at once.

In their hands were stones and other sharp items, which they tossed at him.

One of them hit Amon's right shoulder, causing him to stagger back a little, then another struck his right arm, making him stagger again.

And another hit Amon in his ribs.

Still, Amon didn't feel the slightest pain from all the attacks.

He glanced at the children, who seemed to be around the age of five.

"Monster!!! The monster will kill you…" one of the children shouted and made faces at Amon.

However, it was clear there was no sign of fear on their faces. Instead, two of the children picked up stones and began throwing them in Amon's direction again.

He dodged them, his eyes fixed on the kids.

Opening his mouth to speak, he wanted to ask where he was or what to do next.

But only the sound of rough surfaces scraping against each other came out of his throat.

Amon subconsciously kept quiet and glanced at the children again.

After a few more seconds of silence, he began retreating.

From where the children were standing, he could tell there was a village in that direction.

In fact, he could see the faint silhouettes of people.

Nonetheless, he was astounded that they left their children with a "monster" without a care in the world.

Although he was curious about their reason, he still maintained a neutral expression, not like he could make any facial expressions anyway.

Gradually, he retreated backwards.

Opposite the village was what seemed to be the woods, something akin to a forest, and as Amon entered

deeper into the forest, he noticed some terrifying auras.

He didn't know how he could tell it was dangerous, but he seemed to possess an instinctive danger sense that told him the place wasn't safe.

Due to this, Amon didn't dare approach.

"He's entering into the woods. Mom and dad said we shouldn't enter the woods no matter… boohoo, no more playing again…" a child among the group of five said regretfully.

The others also had reluctant expressions on their faces upon seeing that their "plaything" was leaving.

Nevertheless, they couldn't disobey the orders from their parents.

They had heard tales about how dangerous the woods were and they didn't want to risk their lives because of it.

Amon glanced at them for a moment before letting out a breath.

Not one of relief, but just an attempt to exhale as his thoughts moved smoothly.

'How do I clear this Star Gate? What are the criteria for completion?' Amon's thoughts were a mess as he continued walking deeper and deeper with no particular direction in mind.

Gradually, he soon reached a tall oak tree that seemed to pierce the clouds.

He stopped by it and leaned against it, then took a moment to recollect himself.

'Perhaps I should try to communicate with others…' Amon analyzed.

Still, with the fact that he couldn't speak aloud, it was far from easy to communicate and not get killed.

'I can try to write to pass out information…' Amon's eyes suddenly lit up.

The children from before were speaking in the language of the Bermuda World and he could use that to his advantage.

All he had to do was think of a way to communicate.

Normally, he would take his time with these things, but noting that he had only twenty-four hours to resolve Natasha's issue, Amon felt a sense of urgency in his heart.

Without hesitation, he increased his speed and rushed back in the direction of the village.

His bones felt weak, and Amon had the thought that he might collapse at any moment due to running so fast. Thankfully, none of that happened.

In the blink of an eye, he had almost left the forest once again.

By this time, Amon estimated that he had spent roughly an hour.

'I have just twenty-three left…' Amon muttered with a narrowed expression.

Continuing on his way, Amon spotted something familiar.

Another skeleton just like him.

He wanted to walk toward the skeleton, but on second thought, without much time to waste here, he continued deeper on his way.

Just as he was about to continue, he noticed the skeleton approaching him at a fast pace.

Their distance was only a few meters apart, and with Amon pausing to wait, it soon reached him in barely a few minutes.

The skeleton waved its weak bones in Amon's direction as though trying to pass some sort of information to him.

Amon narrowed his eyes suspiciously, trying to understand the skeleton.

The skeleton seemed to be asking Amon if he was heading toward the village.

Amon nodded and the skeleton immediately shook its head, signaling that it was a bad idea.

Amon glanced at the skeleton in puzzlement.

He tried to speak once more but found it impossible.

With that, he scanned the ground, quickly finding a branch not too far away.

Then, he began scribbling some things on the ground.

'I plan to head to the village…' It took Amon roughly thirty seconds to write his statement.

The skeleton distanced itself a bit, as if scrutinizing the information, before shaking its head.

Then, it began gesturing toward Amon again.

Amon was speechlessly bewildered at this.

'He can't understand my writing?' Amon was truly dedicated to making his handwriting splendid and readable, so he knew it wasn't because of that. The skeleton couldn't read at all.

'This is a little difficult…' Amon muttered with a darkened expression.

He tried to wave his hand and communicate with the skeleton, but it was all to no avail.

'I can't be bothered to deal with all of this.' Amon shrugged and no longer paid attention to the skeleton.

Increasing his speed, he continued on his way to the village ahead.

The skeleton widened its eye sockets and hastened its pace in Amon's direction.

Just as it reached him, a fist was already slamming forward.

Amon's bony hand made contact with the skull of the skeleton, sending it flying up into the air.

The skeleton froze for a moment before raising its bony hand toward ead.

Feeling that there was nothing there, it began searching the ground and wandering around aimlessly.

'What the hell?' Amon felt speechless at the sight of this…
