The crisp Friday morning air meant that the short season of autumn would soon give way to a heavy winter.
Renji couldn't stop thinking about winter.
It was his favorite season because then everyone was an introvert; staying inside just like him because of the harsh cold and therefore didn't make him feel like he was missing out on anything.
Also, he was a fan of the cold.
As opposed to the heat of the summer, the cold of winter was very much preferable.
Anyone who thought otherwise, in Renji's perspective, was an outdoor maniac.
But it wasn't winter yet, so he should probably focus his excitement on other things.
Like the Highschool Art Competition coming up or his MILF claiming revenge plot.
He stepped off the city bus, his cheek still healing from the scrape from yesterday's scuffle.
Seihou High loomed ahead, he could see fellow students in cliques heading there, laughing and gossiping.
But Renji's mind raced far beyond the school day.
This was the final day of the week, and with Mrs. Hoshizawa absent from the Sunshine Center on Fridays, he had no after-school obligations.
It felt awful to admit but he really didn't care about the community center aside from seeing Hana.
Fight him.
He knew something for sure. After yesterday, things with Kaito and his goons—Jiro, Iroha, and Haru—were only getting worse.
That punch was just a spark; they'll come harder now. He really needed to move faster.
A sly smile crept across his face as he walked the familiar path, sneakers crunching on gravel.
The more he thought about it, going for the pack was probably a smarter move.
Targeting Hana first was tempting, but she was the big fish, Kaito's mom.
It was more strategic to dismantle the pack first. Claim the mothers of Jiro, Iroha, and Haru. Break them one by one, leave Kaito isolated, confused, distraught as his world crumbles.
And then, claim his mother.
That was brutal.
The idea sent a dark thrill through him, his heart pounding with vengeful glee.
To slowly strip away his support and his arrogant little empire falls. Then he'll be left begging.
It was a perfect suffering for a piece of scum like him.
Renji's thoughts drifted to the mothers.
As he knew, they were wealthy and prominent figures in the school's social circle. He remembered their names and had seen them—glances of them—at PTA meetings and pickup lines.
He'd also heard some whispered gossip about them among students. Renji wasn't a fan of gossiping but he couldn't completely avoid it.
He started with Haru's mom, Miyako Endo.
She was the most unconventional of all the moms, a surprising figure in their world of privilege.
Miyako Endo was a cop, but not just any cop. She was the daughter of Tatsuma Endo, Haru's grandfather and the legendary State Police Commissioner.
The old man had amassed over ¥20,000,000,000 in his career through a web of official channels: hefty pensions from decades of service, political consulting fees for advising on security policies, lucrative speaking engagements at international law enforcement conferences, and even stakes in private security firms that contracted with the government.
As most children did, Miyako inherited the wealth via layered trust funds and endowments. In fact, it was not news to anyone that her position as a high-ranking police in the metropolitan force was secured through blatant nepotism.
All the doors swung open for her with a single call from her father.
What was intriguing though was that she was married to an ordinary office worker, a salaryman named Kenoji who scraped by in a mid-level corporate job.
Renji knew this because he remembered the scandal splashing across politics TV a few years ago.
Tatsuma publicly decried the marriage as "beneath the family," forcing Kenoji to overcompensate with endless overtime.
Miyako basically wore the pants at home, her father's money funding their lavish lifestyle. A really lavish lifestyle.
One of a sprawling estate, luxury cars, private tutors for Haru, while Kenoji tried desperately to contribute.
Renji frowned, digging deeper in his memory.
But it ended there. That was all he knew about her.
He has no idea of her character quirks, or home address. The latter was the most crucial part.
He shifted to Iroha's mother, Ayame Sada.
She was a popular figure, perhaps the most popular of all the goons' moms.
Ayame was a powerhouse in the corporate world. She led an executive team at Vanguard Global Industries, one of Japan's top conglomerates in tech and manufacturing.
Her net worth soared into the billions of yen from stock options, performance bonuses, and board seats on subsidiary companies.
Her husband, Kuiji Sada, was a politician like Taiga Hoshizawa. He was a high-level assemblyman in the national diet, involved in trade committees that funneled favors and contracts back to Vanguard.
Their marriage amplified the power of their family. They did joint political fundraisers, insider deals on infrastructure projects, and other similar stuff that Renji couldn't start to comprehend.
Ayame was known for her cutthroat negotiations, sealing multi-billion yen mergers over sake dinners, her influence extending to lobbying for tax breaks that padded the family fortune further.
Even though she was the big fish, she seemed like she would be perhaps one of—if not the most—difficult milf targets to claim.
But again, no personal details. He had no idea where she lived. He did know Vanguard's headquarters downtown.
Maybe that could lead him to her house someway.
Finally, he thought of Jiro's mother; Jennifer Sato.
She was a striking Western American woman with flowing blonde hair.
Renji recalled his first glimpse of her. It was like seeing a unicorn in a herd of horses.
She was tall and curvaceous, with that fair American skin like in the movies and blue eyes.
Jennifer worked in her husband's farm company, Sato Farms, the nation's largest agribusiness empire, supplying milk, dairy products, fresh produce, and processed foods for domestic markets and export to Asia and Europe.
The company dominated with vast farmlands in the countryside, automated processing plants, and government subsidies for "agricultural innovation"
In short, they were worth billions. Lots of billions of Yen.
Her character? Also unknown. Home? Well, Sato Farms had a public HQ in the suburbs, and he could find it with a search online. But he was sure he wouldn't find her residence there.
Renji sighed, his pulse quickening as he neared the park detour.
This whole thing thrilled him.
As usual, he slipped into the small park adjacent to the school, the morning mist clinging to bushes and benches, birds chirping overhead.
He was done hiding his Note, and after a while, he headed for school.
But there, lurking near the entrance like predators was Kaito and his goons: Jiro with his stocky build and perpetual sneer, Iroha tall and lanky with slicked-back hair, Haru shorter and wiry, cracking his knuckles.
They made fists, eyes locked on Renji, murder in their glares.
Renji did nothing. He simply kept his head down, walking steadily.
But Kaito stepped forward, blocking his path. "Think you're hot shit now, art rep? You think you can sucker-punch me and get away with it? You'll pay double today."
Jiro chuckled, "Yeah, mommy-porn loser. We're gonna break your fingers so you can't draw."
Iroha and Haru chuckled as they all neared in like a group.
Renji sighed, backing up. "Come on, guys. Do we really have to do this now?"
"Hehe!" Kaito sneered. "Scared already? What happened to all that confidence from yesterday?"
"Let's just beat him up right now!"
But a voice cut through. "It's the principal! Hey, it's the principal!"
Everyone turned to the front of the school.
A sleek black sedan pulled up with a purr, doors opening.
Principal Akemi Suzuki emerged, a vision of hot, sexy authority.
She had her voluptuous build covered by a navy suit, jacket buttons straining over her massive breasts, skirt hugging her plump hips and thick thighs.
Her black hair was in a bun today, red glasses perched on her sharp nose, her stern face radiating no-nonsense power. Hitomi came out of the car too, and hurried to her friends.
She glanced at Renji, smiling shyly and waving. He only nodded back at her.
The bullies dispersed instantly, melting into the crowd.
Akemi's voice boomed as she walked into the building. "Everyone, to your classes! The bell doesn't need to ring for you to stop hovering like idle children. Move!"
Students scrambled.
Kaito shot Renji a warning glare, venomous, before turning to his goons as they walked. "He went to the park, didn't he?"
"Yeah," Jiro muttered. "Saw him duck in."
Kaito nodded. "Good. We'll go during recess and see what the loser's hiding."
