Inside the room, Katty saw Fuyu and Lara hugging each other; Fuyu seemed to be comforting Lara.
"Oh, so romantic. Isn't it?" Katty's voice came as she walked near them. Both looked at her approaching figure, and Fuyu said, "You came at the right time, Katty. Stay here; I'm going to see Mother."
Lara whispered, "Don't say anything."
"Yeah, yeah. I know I'm not going to say anything stupid to her," Fuyu replied calmly before leaving the room and heading to where Susan had taken Nula.
After Fuyu left, Katty asked Lara for details, and Lara explained everything. In return, Katty told Lara everything about Nula's thoughts.
"I see, so you asked him to marry you. Did he agree?" Katty asked.
"No, he said he needs time," Lara said in a sad tone.
"What? He still needs time, after you were so brave and told him everything you feel, and after everything he has done with you? He still needs time to think? Oh God..." Katty said dramatically.
"No, don't say anything. I know it's a difficult time, considering what Mother thinks, so it's alright for him to take his time," Lara said with a smile.
"Hmm, I understand that. But I want to ask: what makes you so much in love with him?" Katty asked out of curiosity.
"Huh? I don't know... I just don't want to marry anyone else except him," Lara said with a slight blush.
"How can I explain it to her? I like his naughty nature and good heart. I just like being near him, seeing and learning about his weird fantasies and the things he does with others. When I asked him to marry me, he told me he couldn't love me or be loyal to me, as I already know what he is doing behind everyone's back, and I might not feel good about it. But how could I explain to him, or to others? I can even explain this to him, but others? No, I can't. So..." Lara thought. This was the sole reason for her desperation to marry him. Love wasn't really the only reason, though there might have been love; the main reason was her desire to do naughty things with him. He understood her wild nature, and she enjoyed being naughty with him. She also knew that pursuing that kind of instant gratification just to enjoy herself wasn't something anyone would approve of or allow in the current situation, especially when Manu needed to get married and she could secure the family money by marrying someone.
"I know Manu needs to get married, but he is a boy; he can earn money himself and get married. No one would stop him. But why does she need to use me? I really hate this," Lara said to Katty with an angry expression.
"Hmm, true. But he is your brother; you should help him, no?" Katty asked.
"Well, I certainly can help him, but I also have feelings and wants to live my own way. As for him, he can just wait a few days and he would get enough money to get married without any problem," Lara countered.
"Hmm... but what if Rani changes her mind until then?" Katty asked.
"It's not my problem," Lara said directly, as she had no other thought except herself. But she warned Katty not to say this to anyone, and Katty nodded in understanding before the discussion moved on to the boy who liked Lara and wanted to marry her.
In Nula's room, Fuyu went directly inside. He saw Susan holding Nula's hand while listening to her. As Nula noticed Fuyu approaching, she wiped the tears from her face. She was genuinely feeling guilty for slapping Lara, but survival was the most crucial thing; other things were secondary.
"Mother, are you alright?" Fuyu asked as he calmly walked toward her.
"Umm..." Nula nodded slightly as Fuyu sat in front of her. He then asked her the reason for her reaction. Nula explained everything that was bothering her: Manu's marriage, Lara's well-being after marrying someone, and, most importantly, not wanting to put too much pressure on him. Fuyu listened, evaluating the entire situation before saying,
"I understand, Mother. Rest assured, I will take care of everything. You can be at ease, alright?" Fuyu said with a smile.
"How can I be at ease until I see all of my children on the right path?" Nula asked.
"Don't worry, I will take care of this. You can leave this to me. And yes, Mother, don't be aggressive or bad to Lara. It's alright, let her do what she wishes, alright? I hope you wouldn't react like that again."
"That... I... I wouldn't react like that in the future, but I don't want her to mess with your life, my baby. I don't want to see her being a burden to you."
"I said it's alright. You can be at ease. Burden or not, leave it to me."
"And I also said I can't be at ease until I see all of you on the right path. And Lara is going down the wrong path; I want her to marry someone soon and start her own life. Wait a second, you are being so protective of her. Don't tell me you also want to marry her," Nula asked in shock as she looked at Fuyu.
"Well, no, I'm not interested in marrying anyone, but I do hope Lara gets some time before she eventually marries someone in the future. So give her the time she needs and don't put so much pressure on her. I have been witnessing the pressure you were applying," Fuyu replied.
"Hah... thank heaven you are in the right mind. But, baby, even if I'm not going to say anything to her about this matter, until she gets married to someone else in the future, I want you to stay away from her a bit, and I wouldn't like to see her kiss you ever again. If you can promise me this, then good. Otherwise, I will have to proceed in my own way," Nula said with a warning.
Vasana immediately understood the situation, having been observing it for a long time. "So, in the end, this doting mother is quite possessive. She didn't slap Lara for going down the wrong path, but because Lara kissed Fuyu romantically in front of her. In her vision, only she has done that with her baby; no one else is allowed to do this with her baby. She is giving me a bit of a yandere vibe, but it's only making things spicier for me to observe," Vasana thought to herself while waiting for Fuyu to reply.
"That... what do you mean, Mother?"
"I guess I was clear. I want you to stay away from her since she said she loves you and wants to marry you. I want you to stay away from her and let her get on the right path since you don't want to marry her. But, baby, if I saw you doing anything with her, believe me, it won't end well—neither for you, me, nor her. Because if I saw her doing that with you again, I would marry her to whoever I find. I won't care about anything else, no matter what you or she says to me," Nula said in a serious tone. Susan, who was familiar with Nula's possessiveness, felt something similar to when Fuyu came to drink her milk instead of Nula's; Nula had reacted that way even to a small matter like that. But Susan wasn't sure if Nula was doing it for Fuyu and Lara's good future or if she was simply jealous.
"Alright, Mother, I agree. But you won't have to put pressure on Lara any longer," Fuyu said after a moment of thought. This made Nula's eyes sparkle as she showed an affectionate smile before saying while wiping the corner of her eyes,
"I won't."
"Hmm," Fuyu nodded in agreement. Susan saw this issue resolved for now and sighed with relief before saying she wanted to talk with Fuyu. They left, leaving Nula there. Nula remained, though the smile slowly vanished as she looked toward Susan but didn't say anything.
"Fuyu, although I am not sure, what do you think? Is what Nula is doing wrong or right? What's your view on this matter?" Susan asked as they were away from any prying eyes.
"Well, Aunt, what Mother is doing by pressuring is wrong, but her intention is right, so I guess it's alright, since it's in the favor of Lara's future and mine as well," Fuyu explained.
Susan nodded in understanding before saying, "But I thought something else, you know, about making you stay away from Lara. Don't you feel it's weird for her to act like this, and she has done this in the past as well?"
"Well, it surely is weird, but if it's for our own good, then I guess it's alright. As for Mother doing the same thing in the past, well, I don't remember that."
"Don't remember? How can you forget she made you do this when you used to come to my home for milk? Didn't she say something like this, threatening you to stay away from me?" Susan asked, remembering Fuyu himself had told her this when Nula said this to the young Fuyu.
