I Was Forced To Marry The Phoenix Empress

Chapter 42: Healing Zheng Ru

Elder Jing completely ignored Yi Chen's anger-filled words. Her attention was fully focused on Zheng Ru's critical condition as her countenance turned ugly.

'Heavens! I overreacted!' she exclaimed in her mind, seeing the grievous state of Zheng Ru.

'To think I would dare injure her father,' Elder Jing gulped involuntarily as a sense of great fear rose in her heart.

Haphazardly, she started searching for some healing pills inside her pendant. However, even after spreading her senses to the entirety of her subspace, she was unable to find a suitable item.

SLAM!

The doors of the dining room were slammed open all of a sudden as guards rushed in, only to cry out in shock.

"Master Ru!"

They exclaimed in horror, seeing his bloodied state and the next moment their gaze fell upon Elder Jing, who was standing not far away from him.

"You dare!"

Their countenance immediately turned aggressive, and they rushed towards Elder Jing with their swords directed straight towards her.

"Scram!" She exclaimed irritably and waved her hand. The next moment, the incoming guards slammed into a Qi barrier and were unable to make their way further into the hall.

Just then, Elder Jing's eyes fell upon a bottle lying in one corner of the hall.

'Golden Firmament Pills!' An expression of delight formed on her face

"Yes, if it's this, then everything can be resolved," she lightly muttered, and with a wave of her hand, the bottle flew towards her.

The next moment, with the pill bottle in her hand, she made her way towards Zheng Ru's wounded figure.

Yi Chen was still cursing like a maniac towards Elder Jing.

That was the only thing he could do as he subconsciously felt that leaving Feng Yu's side right now would place her in more danger.

However, it changed when he saw Elder Jing moving towards Zheng Ru the next moment.

'Is she planning to finish him now that he's grievously wounded?'

He couldn't help but think in horror, and this thought intensified the moment he saw her hand reaching towards Zheng Ru's neck.

"You dare harm him even further!" Losing control of his sanity, Yi Chen tightly grasped a broken shard of porcelain from the ground and rushed towards her.

'It's good that his breath is still strong,' Elder Jing sighed in relief and was about to take out the pill when Yi Chen rushed at her while clenching a bloodied porcelain in his hand.

She grabbed his hand, which held the shard aimed towards her, with anger apparent on her face.

She's been ignoring Yi Chen's knife-like words all this while knowing that he had misunderstood the situation, but his latest action successfully enraged her.

However, taking a deep breath, she said, "Calm down, I'm trying to help him."

What Elder Jing had not anticipated was that instead of calming him down, her words further infuriated him, and he lashed out.

"You call this helping, you old bitch!"

His wife was lying unconscious a few meters away, his father-in-law was on the verge of dying, and the person who was the cause of all this says that she was trying to help? Bullshit!

The next moment, he released his grip on the shard. As it fell downwards, he caught it with his other hand and the next second aimed for Elder Jing's throat.

Seeing this, Elder Jing finally lost her cool.

"Enough!" she roared in frustration and slammed her palm in his stomach. Spewing blood, Yi Chen's figure flew backwards like a kite with its string cut.

Although she had controlled her strength this time, the strike would still be enough to injure him and make him lose his consciousness because of the pain.

'Now I can focus on hea-' Elder Jing was about to turn towards Zheng Ru and make him eat the pill when all of a sudden, she noticed an intense Qi flow in the direction she had just tossed Yi Chen.

'This…' her eyes widened in despair as she witnessed the scene in front of her.

Before Yi Chen's figure could slam into the wall behind him, he was caught in a person's warm embrace.

Struggling to open his eyes, Yi Chen saw a hazy face in front of his eyes. Despite this, he was easily able to recognise her.

"Yu'er…you're alright," he muttered with a relieved expression before losing his consciousness.

Seeing Yi Chen's state, a sense of anger rose in Feng Yu's eyes the next moment as she glanced towards Elder Jing.

"Empress! There was a misunderstanding…I was only heavy-handed because your father is in a critical condition right now…" Elder Jing haphazardly tried to explain.

Hearing her words, Feng Yu glanced towards her father's bloodied figure the next moment, and the pill bottle in Elder Jing's eyes entered her vision.

"Do it quickly," Feng Yu ordered with a cold glare. Her voice carried an aura of authority unlike before, and hearing it, Elder Jing couldn't help but feel a cold chill run through her spine.

"Yes, Empress!" Elder Jing acknowledged and immediately took a pill out, making Zheng Ru swallow it.

Meanwhile, Feng Yu kept circulating her Qi inside Yi Chen's body to stabilise his condition.

After Zheng Ru had eaten the pill, Elder Jing placed her palms over his chest and circulated her Qi through his meridians to fasten the pill's absorption.

The results soon became evident.

Within a matter of minutes, Zheng Ru's pale face started to gain back its colour, and all his broken bones started to mend themselves.

Seeing this, Feng Yu exhaled silently as a sense of relief appeared in her deep eyes. Turning towards the entrance, the next moment, she waved her hand towards the Qi barrier blocking her path.

A red fiery Qi escaped from her hand, and the next moment, Elder Jing's Qi barrier was easily broken through.

Carrying Yi Chen's arm around her shoulder, Feng Yu walked out of the hall.

"Empress…" Elder Jing's hesitant voice came from behind, to which only a single reply came.

It was directed not only to her but also to the servants and guards gathered outside.

"Leave us alone for some time,"
