"Here's your room, sir," the lady staff member opened the door for Yi Chen and showed him the room.
"Alright, you may go," Yi Chen nodded after seeing the state of the room.
"Sir, when should I bring you your dinner?" The lady asked.
Yi Chen thought for a moment. It was around six in the evening right now.
"Bring it in an hour's time," Yi Chen said while glancing at her status panel.

There really wasn't anything specific to pay attention to.
"Yes, sir." With a short bow, the lady left the room and closed the door behind her.
Seeing this, Yi Chen locked the door from inside and finally placed the heavy backpack on the wooden floor.
The next moment, he opened the bag to check something.
Sifting through the items, he finally sighed in relief when he saw a pouch that was placed underneath one of his robes.
He picked it out to check inside.
Inside this pouch, there were two gold-coloured notes, five silver-coloured ones and 1000 bronze-coloured notes.
'Father really gave me a lot of money,' Yi Chen thought with a wry smile.
This was also one of the reasons why he was feeling paranoid.
In the kingdom, a thousand bronze notes equate to one silver note, and a thousand silver notes equal one gold.
Looking at the two bundles containing five hundred bronze notes each, Yi Chen couldn't help but sigh.
They were almost five centimetres thick, so he had no other option but to keep them inside the bag to not attract unnecessary attention.
Taking a few bronze notes out, he once again hid the pouch inside his backpack.
He soon went inside the attached washroom, which was provided to freshen up.
He was a little surprised to find faucets here, as in the town, they relied on well water for everything.
"Interesting," Yi Chen said to himself.
Seeing the wooden seat on one corner provided to lighten one's stomach, his eyes shone even further.
'A city really is different from a town. Even an inn here has proper sanitation facilities,' he thought delightfully and went about with his serious business.
After spending a good forty-five minutes freshening up, he finally exited the washroom.
By the time he had changed into a fresh batch of robes, he heard a knock on the door.
Soon, a warm meal was placed on a table inside his room.
*Gulp*
He wanted to eat. However, he had read too many web novels to do something as reckless as that.
'Forget about it, I'll just have some dried nuts I brought with me.'
With that thought, he picked out some nuts from his bag and ate them while sitting on the bed.
A while later, the nuts were all gone, but his hunger wasn't. As he stared at the meal on the table not far away, his stomach growled.
"If only this ability of mine could also check the status of non-living things!"
He exclaimed in frustration. The next moment, he grabbed the plate and threw the food in the trash bin in one corner.
'With this, I won't get distracted,' Yi Chen thought to himself and sat back on his bed. Even though the chance of the food being poisoned or tampered with was very little, he still didn't want to take this risk.
Sitting in a cross-legged position, he was currently facing the entrance door. His newly gifted sword was lying horizontally on his lap.
In this position, he slowly closed his eyes to cultivate. That's what he was going to do the whole night.
And if anything suspicious happens, he'll be able to react immediately.
Time passed.
Throughout the night, Yi Chen opened his eyes several times because of random noises from other rooms or because of rodents.
Tonight was the most restless he has ever been.
However, the only solace in his heart was the fact that he had slept a little in the carriage while coming here.
The night continued without anything significant happening.
When the first rays of the sun finally entered his room, Yi Chen released a deep sigh of relief.
He wasn't disappointed that he had wasted an entire night like this when nothing actually happened.
He had no intention of dying in this world anytime soon, so he must be cautious, especially when he's still weak.
"It's best this way," Yi Chen completed his thought and finally stood up from the bed to freshen up. It was time to leave.
A while later, Yi Chen, with his backpack on and a sword resting on his waist, was making his way towards a particular street in the city.
Since it was early in the morning, the city was mostly quiet. However, the place he was going was anything but quiet.
"Liu city! Liu City!"
"Maple Town!!"
"Tulip Town! Tulip Town!"
Cries of wagon drivers echoed throughout the busy street as people carrying bags moved from one place to the other, enquiring about routes and places.
This was the city's Wagon Depot.
Hearing the several calls, Yi Chen finally approached a wagon driver who was good to Liu City.
This was one of the several cities he would be crossing to reach his destination, Jade City.
"I want to go to Liu City," Yi Chen told the driver.
"That would be 200 bronze notes, sir," The driver stated.
"This much?!" Yi Chen exclaimed.
Suddenly, the money which Zheng Ru had given him started feeling less.
"It's a fair price, sir. Liu City is fifteen days from here. I should be earning at least this much to take you there, don't you think?" the wagon driver explained in an experienced fashion.
Yi Chen went quiet for a few seconds before finally taking out his money.
"Here," he said while passing a small bundle of notes to him.
"Thank you for your patronage, sir!" The driver took the money with a happy expression.
Pointing towards his wagon, he said the next moment, "You're the first customer, sir, so you'll have to wait inside a little since there's a spot for two more people on my wagon. It's the same case with the other wagon drivers,"
"I understand," Yi Chen nodded when he heard him and sat inside the wagon.
Time passed slowly, and soon two more travellers entered his wagon.
One was an old man, while the other was a middle-aged man who was his son.
While checking their status, when Yi Chen saw that they were normal mortals, he finally let his guard down and greeted them with a nod.
A while later, three wagons finally left Yulan City one after another.
They all had the same destination but not the same ending.
