Seeing him ignore her words angered Yue Ru even further, and she was about to lose all sense of decency when her eyes finally fell upon the blue coloured token that had just fallen on the table.
'!!!'
Her expression paled the very next moment, and her breath paused.
"I deeply apologise for my misconduct, esteemed customer!" Yue Ru kept bowing her head nonstop, the very next moment, as tears almost welled up in her eyes.
If the person in front of her was truly a member of the Zhou Clan and he decided to act, then not only would she be kicked out of her job, but she would also need to spend the rest of her life incarcerated behind prison bars.
"Stop," Yi Chen's words echoed in her ears the very next moment, and not daring to further anger him, she stopped bowing.
Her gaze was still pointed downwards, not daring to meet Yi Chen's eyes, as a trace of hopelessness started pervading her whole being as she waited for Yi Chen's next set of words, which would seal her fate.
However, the harsh words she had expected never came to her mind, and instead, a warm hand gently placed itself on her shoulder.
"It's alright." Yi Chen said with a warm tone, "It's tough being a receptionist, so accidents like this are bound to happen with anyone.
If you're truly apologetic, then how about you help me create an account quickly? I'll be truly grateful if you do that."
In his past life, he had worked at a convenience store as a part-timer. So he was well aware of such situations that tend to happen from time to time.
"This…" Yue Ru's eyes widened when she heard Yi Chen's words.
She had already somewhat prepared herself to lose everything, so when she heard Yi Chen's comforting words instead of an angry rebuke, her expression froze in disbelief.
Seeing this, Yi Chen waved his hand in front of her eyes and said, "You there?"
It was only then that Yue Ru regained herself.
"Y-Yes, sir, I apologise," she immediately bowed, still in disbelief as to what was happening right before her was reality or a dream.
"Then can you help me with the account creation?" Yi Chen asked with a smile.
"R-Right away, sir! Right away!" Yue Ru finally took control of her bearing as her eyes started to tear up in relief.
She wiped away the tears from the back of her hand and went behind her table to create an account for Yi Chen.
Grabbing the token on the table, she opened up a registration book and began asking Yi Chen a few questions.
During the process, there were several times she almost broke out crying from relief, but Yi Chen's calm smile allowed her to maintain her decorum, and she finally finished up with the account creation.
Yue Ru handed out a red card to Yi Chen the next moment and said, while bowing as deeply as possible.
"Your account has been made, Young Master Chen…Thank you for being lenient towards me. I'll never forget your kindness."
Yi Chen took the card from her and said with a smile, "It's all in the past now, Receptionist Ru. I've already forgotten about it."
Yi Chen's words only heightened his image in Yue Ru's eyes, and she replied with a smile, "Young Master Chen is truly different from other men his age. I truly believe you will achieve a lot in the future."
"Thank you for your kind words," Yi Chen said with a smile and placed the red card in his pouch. The next moment, he took out a scroll from underneath his robes.
"There's also this Scroll of Proof, which I have. Can you help me with it, Receptionist Ru?" Yi Chen placed the scroll on the table.
"I would be more than happy to, Young Master Chen," Yue Ru took the scroll from the table and started going through its contents the next moment.
The more she went through the contents, the wider her eyes became.
'This…'
The first point that caught Yue Ru's attention was the person who had signed the scroll.
The second point was the number of spirit stones that were asked to be transferred to Yi Chen's newly created account.
The last and most important point was a single line that had been written at the end of the scroll.
'Yi Chen is my benefactor, so treat him with utmost care.'
Just this single line was enough to send a shiver down Yue Ru's spine.
Just what would one need to do to become a benefactor of a noble clan's Patriarch?!
'To think that he was so important…' She sneakily glanced towards Yi Chen and gulped involuntarily while thinking to herself, 'If his character had been like any of those haughty Young Masters, then I would have definitely been beheaded.'
However, she soon shook those useless thoughts from her mind and focused on the main issue.
'I must immediately inform the Pavilion manager,' Yue Ru thought to herself as she finished reading the contents of the scroll.
The next moment, she took a deep breath and, after controlling her inner turmoil, informed Yi Chen.
"Young Master Chen, I've gone through the contents of the scroll, and there's no issue regarding it.
However, I don't have the authority to transfer such a huge amount on my own, so I would have to call the Pavilion manager."
"Alright, no problem," Yi Chen nodded when he heard this. It made sense that the Pavilion Manager would be required.
An expression of relief formed on her face, seeing that Yi Chen was willing to wait.
"T-Then let me guide you to the waiting lounge first," Yue Ru suggested the next moment and seeing a nod from Yi Chen, guided him to the room on the second floor.
Only after ensuring that Yi Chen was comfortably seated and had been served with a warm cup of tea did Yue Ru rush to the top floor to inform the pavilion manager.
