"Open the core port."
The command was soft, barely audible over the screaming metal of the Titan's chassis, but Hephaestus obeyed.
HISS-CLANK.
A small, reinforced hatch located directly above the Titan's main power reactor slid open.
Inside, the Mana Core, usually a swirling vortex of blue energy, was empty, save for the flickering remnants of Damien's own exhausted aura.
"What are you doing?!" Hephaestus yelled, shielding his eyes from the blinding green light of the Bone Dragon's charging breath.
"We need to eject! The shielding is gone! We have three seconds before we're vaporised!"
"Three seconds is plenty," Damien said.
Mind racing, Damien began to quickly deduce a way to get out of the current situation.
His current state was abysmal, his mana was drained, his will was strained, and his aura was exhausted.
From time to time, his vision began to sway, constantly letting him know that his rapidly approaching his limits.
And to top it all off, he was out of Dp.
In such a situation where all his cards were exhausted, Damie, now Zero, would have harboured thoughts of giving up.
However, after thinking for a bit, he realized he was completely out of options
"The Pantheon sword!" he muttered
He reached over his shoulder and unsheathed the Pantheon Sword.
The crystalline blade was silent. Its blade looked dull, and its hilt looked worn.
A regular person seeing it from afar might think it was an ornamental weapon or a piece of dead glass.
However, as someone who had personally experienced it's might before Damien knew that wasn't the case
Injecting the last bits of his aura and mana into the sword, he began to move
This time, he didn't swing it. He slammed it, point-down, directly into the open core port of the Titan.
KLUNK.
The sword locked into the mechanism.
For a heartbeat, nothing happened.
Then, the Titan screamed.
[System Alert!] [Foreign Artifact Detected: Pantheon, The Prism of Kings.] [Integrating with Chassis...] [Energy Absorption Mode: ACTIVATED.]
The runes inside the cockpit turned from emergency red to a blinding, pure white.
Outside, the Bone Dragon fired.
"ROAR!"
A beam of concentrated Necrotic Void energy, thick enough to engulf the entire palace, slammed into the Titan.
The Cultist laughed, expecting to see the machine melt into slag.
But the Titan didn't melt.
It stood there, pinned by the Dragon's wings, bathed in the green fire of death.
But instead of burning, the Titan's armor began to glow.
The Pantheon Sword, acting as the heart of the machine, was doing exactly what it was forged to do: It was drinking the energy.
It drank the Dragon's breath. It drank the ambient mana of the city. It drank the despair of the Cultists.
The Titan's Mithril plating turned translucent. The machine stopped looking like a robot and started looking like a god made of light.
Inside the cockpit, Damien's hands were smoking. His Celestial Life Physique was repairing his flesh as fast as the energy overflow was burning it away.
"Hephaestus," Damien gritted out, his voice vibrating with power. "Reroute everything to the main cannon. No shields. No movement. All of it."
"You're going to blow the reactor!" Hephaestus screamed, but his hands were already moving, overriding the safety protocols. "Output is at 400%! 500%!"
"More!" Damien roared.
He poured the last of his Golden Dragon Aura into the sword.
The Titan's chest plates slid open, revealing the emitter array, no guns, just a giant lens
The Bone Dragon sensed the shift.
The surrounding dwarves sensed the changes and looked up
Isabelle and the others stopped what they were doing as they sensed the change
Even Alfred and the others turned toward Damien's for a split second
Instantly, feeling the danger, the Cultists rushed towards him
Unfortunately, they realised his mistake too late.
"No... impossible! That is—!"
"Titan Art," Damien whispered.
The Titan raised its glowing arms, grabbing the Dragon's jaws and forcing them open.
"GIGA... FULL COUNTER!"
VOOOM.
Sound died.
A beam of light erupted from the Titan's chest.
Different from a regular Lazer, what was released could be called a river of erasure.
Its light so fast that anyone below the third order could not follow its path, and its body so bright that even the sun was eclipsed by its radiance for a moment.
For an instant, time to pause, as the whole world watching the broadcast was shocked by that move, which was 'full counter'
A move capable of absorbing and reflecting attacks of that nature was unheard of. For a time, the whole world seemed to ask one question.
"Who is Zero?"
*BOOM!*
It hit the Bone Dragon at point-blank range. The Dragon's skull didn't even have the time to explode; it simply vanished under that unparalleled attack.
The beam tore through the neck, the torso, the wings.
The "Iron Grave" armor made of city buildings disintegrated into dust. The green Void Core shattered.
The beam kept going. It pierced the clouds. It pierced the atmosphere.
For a moment, a second sun appeared in the sky above the Dwarf Kingdom, visible from the Elven Forests to the Human Capital.
All around the world, everyone was shocked. Be it commoner or prince, they all looked upward with disbelief in their eyes.
Was this world about to change?
CRACK-BOOM!
The shockwave finally hit, knocking every soldier, civilian, and cultist in the plaza off their feet.
In an instant, the whole tide of the battlefield had changed as a result of this one move
The Bone Dragon was gone. Vaporised on a molecular level.
The Titan stood alone in the center of a glass crater, steam pouring from its melting armor.
It took one step forward.
Then, it powered down. The lights in its eyes died. It slumped, a silent guardian watching over the city it had just saved.
However, in the eyes of those watching the battle, no longer did they look at the dwarves' situation with interest; rather, a look of apprehension could now be seen.
That sort of power did not belong in any one races hands!
