For this sudden change the High Priest of Rot stared in horror.
The acid of his [Ocean of Rot], a conceptual power capable of dissolving legendary mythril, was evaporating.
It hissed and screamed as it touched the white-hot aura radiating from the figure walking toward him.
King Durin was no longer a Dwarf. He was a silhouette of blinding, molten white.
His beard was a wreath of plasma. His skin was living metal, flowing and hardening with every step. He had absorbed the entirety of his Forge Domain into his own body.
"Stay back!" the Priest shrieked, summoning a tidal wave of necrotic sludge.
However, this time Durin didn't dodge, he walked straight through it with a smile on his face.
"haha! Is that all you got water boy, I can't believe I let you get to me before"
"After this, I need to drink as much as possible and forget this whole ordeal"
Laughing with a hearty smile on his face, Durin feeling his surging new strength couldn't help but find an excuse to drink after this
Laughing some more, he began to act
SSSSSSS.
The sludge hit Durin's chest and vanished instantly, burned away by a heat that rivaled the core of a star.
"You said the 8th Order is about becoming the concept," Durin's voice boomed, sounding like a hammer striking an anvil.
He reached out. His hand, now a claw of white-hot adamantine, grabbed the Priest by his flayed robes.
"I agree."
The Priest wailed as the heat transferred to his soul.
"8th order magic! Vulcan's Touch"
Yes, Durin at this time had successfully broken through eighth order
BOOM!
A shockwave of heat exploded outward. The Priest of Rot died instantly,
Looking closer, it was as if he was forged. His body calcified instantly into a statue of black ash, then crumbled into dust.
The Ocean of Rot evaporated, leaving only cracked, dry earth.
"As someone titled the King, even if I just step into the eigth order, I am still the King fo that realm"
Snorting in satisfaction, he turned towards his side in a somewhat surprise fashin.
"Oh? It seems that old girl Aelinor has also taken that step"
Fifty meters away, the shadows were screaming.
The High Priest of Whispers tried to flee.
In fear, he turned intangible, becoming a mist of pure darkness to escape the blinding light.
Even running out of his domain as he sensed the gap in their new strength.
As someone as high ranking as him, he knew that his strength was false.
In this world where eighth orders are rare, the reason the cult can always push so many out is that they were mass produced by the void demon god
As such against real eigth orders they were much weaker
"However, why did this bitch have to break through now!" growling in fear, he quickly increased his speed
"There is nowhere to run," Queen Aelinor's voice echoed from everywhere.
She floated above the battlefield, her hair flowing like liquid starlight. The [World Tree's Embrace] had transformed.
The giant trees were gone, replaced by a singular, focused aura of Absolute Life.
"Shadows exist only where light is blocked," Aelinor whispered, raising her hand.
"But here... there is no obstruction."
She clenched her fingers.
"8th order magic! Photosynthesis – Purge!.
Roots made of translucent diamond-wood burst from the empty air, piercing dimensions.
They skimmed past the high priest body aiming for his shadow.
"NO!" the Priest howled as the roots pumped pure Life Mana into his Void form.
It was an overdose of existence. The Void could not exist where Life was absolute.
FLASH.
Under this attack, the Priest unable to resist exploded into a cloud of white petals. The Whispering Void was instantly silenced.
"Silence…"
With the fall of both cult priests, everywhere was quiet.
The battlefield fell silent.
The Alliance soldiers, seeing their kings bathed in divine light, began to cheer.
"The Kings have returned!" "The 8th Order! We;re saved!"
Durin stood amidst the ash, his metal skin cooling slightly to a glowing orange. Aelinor floated down, her light softening.
They looked at each other, feeling the immense power coursing through their veins. They had broken the ceiling.
They had taken one step further towards the realm of Demigods.
With this, they prepared to turn their attention to the remaining Void Beasts to finish the war.
But then... the sky fell.
KRA-KOOM.
It wasn't thunder, no this was something much different.
It was the sound of the atmosphere snapping in half.
BOOM.
A shockwave descended from the heavens.
And not only was it powerful, but it didn't discriminate. It hit the ground with the force of a planetary collision.
"GAAH!"
Durin, in his invincible metal form, was forced to his knees. Aelinor, shielded by the World Tree's light, was slammed into the dirt.
The soldiers who had been cheering were flattened instantly, pinned to the ground by a spiritual pressure so heavy it made the air taste like blood.
"What..." Durin wheezed, struggling to lift his head against the gravity. "What is this?"
He looked up.
The sky was no longer divided.
The Shadow Dragon Kingdom and the Void Shrine had stopped pushing against each other.
Instead, they had merged into a singularity of destruction, a swirling vortex of black and gold that was tearing a hole in the fabric of the world.
And in the center of that storm, two figures were clashing.
Zero and the Mutated Prince.
They were moving so fast that they looked like streaks of lightning.
Every time they collided, reality cracked. The shockwaves were vaporizing clouds miles away.
Durin shielded his eyes as a beam of Void energy strayed from the fight and vaporized a mountain range in the distance.
He looked at his own trembling hand, the hand that had just crushed an 8th Order Priest like an insect.
Then he looked at the monsters in the sky.
A cold chill went down the Dwarf King's spine.
"Aelinor..." Durin whispered, his voice trembling with a terrifying realization.
"We might have become stronger. We might have touched the 8th Order."
He watched Zero catch the Prince's fist and slam him through a dimensional rift, shattering the sky like glass.
"But those two..."
Durin swallowed hard.
"They are monsters."
