Reincarnated in a novel: I am the villain!

Chapter 228: My reality is stronger than yours

[Location: The Surface – The Void Shrine (Domain)]

[Time: 48 Hours into the War]

Two days.

For forty-eight hours, the sky had been screaming.

The terrain below was now a glass sheet. Mountains had been vaporized, rivers evaporated, and the very air tasted of ozone and despair.

Under the constant attacks of both sides, each of their armies had long sice retreated in order not to be caught in the proccess

However despite that, many helpless people below both from the Dragon empire and from the Dwarven and Elf alliance lost their lives

In the sky, Damien floated in the center of the devastation, his chest heaving.

Inside the Shadow Dragon Avatar, Lyra's body was reaching its breaking point.

Her skin was pale as death, blood leaking from her pores. Every time he channeled mana, her muscles tore.

At this rate, she might not even last the full three days, a situation which Damien least wanted to see

'It's not working,' Damien realized, watching the Prince.

The Corrupted Buddha loomed over him, untouched.

Its thousand arms had been destroyed a hundred times, and a hundred times they had regrown instantly.

"You are persistent, Zero," the Prince rasped, his voice echoing from the Buddha. "But persistence is just a delay. You are fighting a loosing battle."

Looking at his opponent in front of him, although he could not defeat him yet, the second prince was sure he could drag out the fight as long as possible and win a battle of attrition.

For as long as the void demon god existed, then his victory as already certain

In this situation, the more time passed, the more Damien was at a disadvantage

And this was something they both knew

Letting out a ragged breath.

Damien looked at his hands, Lyra's hands, bathed in golden aura.

'Mana obeys the laws of physics,' Damien thought, his mind racing.

'Fire burns. Ice freezes. Gravity pulls. Even the Dragon Aura... it's just high-density energy.'

He looked at the Void like mud refilling the Prince's chest wound.

'But the Void breaks physics. It deletes reality. You can't burn something that doesn't exist. You can't freeze something that has no temprature.'

He closed his eyes, shutting out the roar of the battlefield.

He went back to the Abyss. He remembered the dark cave. He remembered the Ash-Maw Worm, a creature that he had defeated back when he couldn't use his mana or aura, he won only by the sheer, stubborn refusal to be eaten.

'Back then in the abyss, it was the use of my will and Intent that got me so far'

'Perhaps it'll save me here again.'

Damien thought as he slowly opened his eyes, this time they weren't glowing with power anymore. They were cold. Still.

"Dragon Avatar," Damien whispered. "Dismiss."

VWIP.

Within a split second, the colossal Shadow Dragon. the construct that had been holding back the sky for two days vanished.

The golden lightning faded. The black clouds dispersed.

Suddenly, there was just a small figure in a tattered trench coat, floating alone in front of a God.

The Prince blinked. The Buddha paused its attack.

"Giving up?" the Prince laughed, the sound shaking the earth.

"Have you finally accepted your fate, little ant?"

For the opponent in front of him, although he hated Zero so much for foiling his plans, he respected him as a fellow strong man

If he surrendered right now, then he would kill him as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Unfortunately, Damien didn't answer.

Instead he simply raised his right hand.

With cold, calm and collected eyes, he began to focus

Gathering his Greedy King's Intent, that insatiable, arrogant, absolute belief that he was the center of the universe, the protagonist in this novel, no the reader who was above the protagonist.

He took that feeling and compressed it.

In a second he coated Lyra's hand with said will.

It looked like the air around his hand had simply stopped moving.

It looked like a glitch in the texture of the world.

"Fate?" Damien whispered.

He vanished.

[Phantom Speed].

He appeared instantly in front of the Prince's chest, the main body buried within the Buddha.

The Prince sneered. "Useless!"

A wall of Void mud rose to block him. A shield that had stopped his dragon fire.

Yet Damien still swung his hand.

[Will Art: King's Severance].

There was no explosion. There was no boom.

There was only Silence.

For a split second, all sound on the battlefield cut out. The wind died. The hum of magic died. It was as if the universe held its breath.

SHINK.

The slash cut through the mud, through the Void armor, and through the Prince's chest.

It looked like a small wound, a simple diagonal cut across the torso. Compared to the nukes Damien had been throwing earlier, it was a scratch.

But then...

"ARGH... AAAAAHHHHHH!"

The Prince screamed.

It wasn't a roar of anger, no this time It was a shriek of genuine, mortal agony.

He clutched his chest. "What?! WHAT IS THIS?!"

Unlike before, the wound wasn't healing.

The black Void tried to rush in to fill the gap, but the moment it touched the edges of the cut, it sizzled and retreated.

A faint, white light, the light of Damien's Will was clinging to the wound, rejecting the Void.

The Prince stared at his own blood. It wasn't purple ichor anymore. It was red. Mortal blood.

"You..." The Prince looked at Zero with wide, terrified eyes.

"Why won't it heal?!"

Damien hovered in front of him, panting heavily. A drop of blood fell from Lyra's nose, splashing onto his mask.

He let out a breathless, jagged laugh.

"I see it now," Damien whispered, raising his hand again.

"The Void is the absence of existence. It deletes all things."

The white light around his hand intensified, not bright, but heavy. undeniable.

"But Will... Will is the undeniable proof of existence. It is the stubborn refusal to disappear."

Damien stepped forward on the air. The Prince flinched back.

"You can't heal," Damien said coldly.

"Because my Will says you are wounded. And right now..."

He pointed at the screaming Buddha.

"...My reality is stronger than yours."
