Rather than going for a bulky build, Michael believed that it would be more beneficial if the tiger were to specialize in speed and stealth.
Its height remained 8 meters, but its form became sleeker. With upgrades in its four limbs, it was going to travel two times faster than before. The jumping distance was tripled, and the claws and jaws it would use to inflict damage got enhanced as well.
The built-in radar that would detect threats had its range expanded. And the heating generator was replaced with one that was more than four times the capacity.
If the mecha were to activate at full power, it could heat up the surroundings similar to a sauna, effectively halting the coldest blizzards there were.
"So… Just like before?" Amelia mumbled. She had connected all of her thin needles to the body of the beast.
"Yes, start slow and ramp up the intensity gradually." Riley instructed, observing the scannings with great interest.
With a nod, Amelia took a deep breath, unleashing a part of her electricity.
"Gods!" She exclaimed, her eyes going wide. This was the first time using her electricity powers after becoming an Early Expert, and it showed.
The amount of power she was able to generate was simply absurd!
Roar!
Fueled by the power, the tiger's eyes began to burn deeper crimson.
[Overcharging…]
The AI began to sense the changes to its body.
[…20%]
First its limbs began to emit smoke, its horsepower increasing exponentially.
[…50%]
The claws and its jaw began to transmit a faint light. The hotter their surface became, the more harm they would inflict.
[…70%]
The scanner's range expanded, managing to detect even the faintest form of life.
[...100%!]
"It's done…" Riley murmured. With the heating generator working at its full potential, the surroundings started to warm up staggeringly fast.
"How do you feel?" Michael glanced at Amelia. While it was great the tiger could reach such power, it would be meaningless if she couldn't keep up the output for a long time.
"Surprisingly fine. I should be able to provide such output for several hours with no problem." She replied.
ROAR!
Even the tiger's uproar turned more menacing as a side effect. Now even the toughest Masters would struggle to beat it in its current state.
"Since you are going to be part of our faction, we need to pick you a name." Michael patted the beast on the head.
[It will be an honor to be named by you, Master.]
"From now on you shall be known as Cyberfang."
With its improvement concluded, Cyberfang began to jump on its legs, eager to test its current limits.
"Thank you for the assistance." Michael smiled warmly.
"I was merely following the Lord's orders." Riley replied nonchalantly.
"Still, I saw the passion of your craft. Few would be able to do such good work as you."
"Hehe~ It's good to know that there are still people that appreciate true mastership." The Grandmaster visibly beamed from the praise.
It was rare for someone to appreciate her ability.
'Since I could need her assistance in the future, it will be a good idea to keep nice ties with her.' Michael mused.
Eager to show the new member of the Indomitable Alliance, Michael led the tiger to their training grounds.
"This is a mighty beast…" Enzo whistled. He was internally wondering if he could beat it in a battle.
"... It has become even cuter." Victoria felt an odd attachment to it. From her point of view, she wasn't looking at a beast created for war but at a house cat.
"Whoever improved it did a fine job." Claire nodded in acknowledgment.
Since she was the one that maintained her mecha, she was an expert in the field. Michael would have asked her to upgrade the Cyberfang had it not been for Grandmother Riley.
While Claire was a Master and was formidable in close combat, her prowess jumped when she was using her mecha. With the White Angel being at full power, no one from Michael's faction could hope to match her.
However, with the addition of Cyberfang, things were different. As long as Amelia was overcharging it, the winner of their duel would be hard to predict.
"Just make sure to not wreck the new addition to our squad." Victoria bored her eyes into Claire. She didn't want to part with their new pet so soon after acquiring it.
Bryce chuckled. "You don't have to worry about it. My Sunshine can be very gentle."
"Enough chatter, let's start training!" Leo urged. It was clear he was worried about the fall of Celestia.
Since nobody wanted a repeat of those events, they began.
"Who are these guys?"
"I can't even track their movement speed!"
Several soldiers gathered to watch the spectacle. It was always inspiring to see the more skilled in combat.
"Does it matter how strong they are? We failed to close a General tier portal, and there is an Overlord on the loose. Our time is numbered."
Understandably, once the common soldiers learned where the Grandmasters had headed off when Azure had been under siege, they felt their resolve waver.
If even a Lord can fall, then what about them who were just beginning their cultivation journey?
The seed of doubt and fear began to blossom in their souls. Of course the Grandmasters instantly noticed the change in their subordinates' demeanor.
Yet no matter what they did, nothing could boost the troops' morale. As strangely as it sounded, they were just Grandmasters. Only Lords could have any kind of influence.
Or so they thought. However, they had overlooked one small aspect.
Even if they were in a time of war, they were still in a city, once populated by civilians.
"Have you noticed? The last few days the soldiers have been looking more depressed."
"Can you blame them? If the rumors of Celestia's fall are true, then they have every right to be anxious."
"That won't do! If they aren't in tip-top shape, the safety of Azure would be put into question."
Unsurprisingly, with Azure being so large, there were numerous large businesses that relied on the city to function. Fearing that something dire could happen, they gathered to discuss how they could boost the troops' morale.
The discussion turned heated and lasted for several hours. Yet in the end they managed to arrive at a unanimous decision.
They were going to hold a festival!
